“I am the previous of this car and I knew the engineer that built the car. The builder was a very talented engineer and sadly he passed away. I knew the car and I bought it from his estate. The car is a blast to drive and I will miss it. The only reason I have for selling it is that I am getting old and I still have a bucket list of cars that I would like to own before it is too late. I am sure that the new owner of this car will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.”

“My wife & I got married in July 1978. We packed her little red Chevette to the hilt with all of our wedding gifts and drove from Chicago to Houston with only gas stops along the way. Took us 24 hours! After a few years the drivers floor pan rusted through. A sheet of 3/8 plywood cut to size fixed that. It was no longer the Fred Flintstone mobile! “As the owner of a 73 1600 Touring, these are fun and useful with the rear seats folded down lots of cargo space they are a few inches shorter than sedans and have a more aerodynamic windshield angle. At a 02 meet up they are rare.

“I had to chime in as this brought back memories. My dad had one with factory 4 speed and (at least) front disc brakes. Can’t remember the rears. Factory silver with a vinyl roof. That 4 speed was a LONG throw so it took a while to get there. A lot of axle hop. I always thought it would make a great sleeper hotrod with a bit of engine & suspension work. I had no idea how rare the factory options were. Who knew?”

“Always loved these. I am the person responsible for that front cover photo of Hemmings Muscle Machines. I was the editor of that magazine at the time. That Mopar issue was a ton of work, but satisfying. Beautiful example of when Chrysler actually built cars. Today, just the Pacifica.”

“This car always stuck out with ONE simple metric that I read back when it was being tested… 50mph to 75mph, it beat out the Testarossa and Porsche Carrera 4.
I think we know a hybrid RAV4 today could probably do this, but in period it blew my socks off to know this.
