“I’ve always thought the ’69 Camaro is one of the most perfectly styled cars of the era, particularly as an RS Z/28. @BlackMountainMotorworks did the right thing by including a number of side profile photos. (Surprising how many sellers don’t!) The color on this one is fantastic, worthy of a poster.
Being an early Trans Am Series fan I was thrilled to get close to the Penske/Donahue #6 racer at an 80’s Walter Mitty. I have a packet of photos I keep aside so I can easily remind myself.…”

“I remember this model. It signaled to many that Hyundai was becoming a serious car company, at a time when some early Excels were still running around leaving clouds of blue oil smoke behind them. The Tiburon could have had Honda badges and nobody might have been the wiser.
Oh, one little “cheeky” thing, as the Brits like to say. Notice the faux intake runners on that plastic engine cover. (Photo #104.) At casual glance, it’s suggesting that the engine is in there longitudinally, perhaps even…”

    Wednesday , September 6th
The trip from Alpine home was the hardest part. Hugh kept driving faster and faster, and we were so anxious to get there. The only notes I have read like this: “Can finally sit down on the toilet seat!! No more wake-up calls. No unpacking and packing car every day. We’re home!!!””

“I spent 2 years restoring this car with the great guys at Universally Modified Performance. Also, a big shout at Extraordinaries Custom paint. They both did a great job. As a partner at Andretti Global, I had access to the greatest guys who know so much about this car. The majority of the parts on this car are original parts from michaels actual races in 1991. I worked with both Michael and Mario to make sure everything was as accurate as possible. It’s truly a big part of IndCar history.”

“A well deserved love letter I might add. Congrats to the owner/builder on a job extremely well done. Visually and through his explanations, it looks and sounds like it truly was a labor of love. I’ll have to take his word that it isn’t a show car because it surely looks otherwise to me.”

“On Thanksgiving eve of 1969 my father drove home a brand new 1970 SX. Rally red, white vinyl top, white bucket seats, sport steering wheel and side mirrors, etc. I was 17 at the time and still have it! Without my father’s knowledge, I immediately swapped the 2 barrel carb for the quadrant which really changed the performance. The drive train is bullet proof. Almost 57 years later and the engine still cranks right up and pulls like a horse! Our domestic cars from 65-71 were fabulous!”

“Jimmy Don Ventura had owned enough unusual automobiles over the years to believe he understood the public. He’d driven a lime-green AMC Gremlin, a Triumph Spitfire that leaked oil with the determination of an East Texas mosquito, and a Plymouth Barracuda that had once stranded him in front of the Dairy Twin during the lunch rush. Every one of them had attracted comments, questions, and unsolicited mechanical advice from complete strangers.

“These are probably the most entertaining vintage Honda motorcycle that you will ever ride! FYI I sold my 89 bike here on BAT a few years ago and it was a riot to ride and wind up to 19k rpms repeatedly. I did upgrade the carbs to larger main jets to compensate for the E10 gasoline in CA. I have had two of these bikes and got both titled in CA. The are over 25 years old so are exempt from other restrictions. If the VA title is correctly done, you should be able to just take in to DMV for a new…”

I can’t say enough about these little gems.
They just find the road intuitively. Seriously, everyone that loves to drive should have one in their stable. I look forward to taking my little jaunt everyday. Grab the keys tell my wife and dog see you in 1/2 hour and get on my little circuit. Same route, faster and smoother each day until I drive it perfectly.

“I purchased this great car in 1986 while I headed a family company in Calgary, Alberta. I flew to Victoria BC and was met by renowned Gullwing restorer Rudi Koniczek. He was selling the Ferrari which had been “Chunky” Woodward’s, part of a famed department store and ranching family in BC. I had only owned 356s and early 911s, so was nervous about my first V12 Ferrari. We took a lap of Victoria which will be forever etched in my memory. Spectacular car. Just the right street car for getting the blood pumping, without needing to get crazy to do it. A simple and easily maintainable build, with no exotic or exceptionally expensive components, and easy access to pretty much everything. It seems like a car that can happily sit on a battery tender, with some fuel stabilizer, and be…”
