“Combating the maintenance scaries with an impressive log of care.
From VW’s golden era. This being on the lot next to the MKIV .:R32 and V10 TDI Touareg is as good as it’ll get.”

“Hello BaT! I’m the builder and seller of this E30, and I’ll be here throughout the auction to answer any questions and provide additional photos or videos if requested.
This project began as an effort to build an electric E30 that felt like a proper driver’s car rather than simply an EV conversion. Nearly every component was selected with that goal in mind—from the Tesla Plaid drive unit and custom battery system to the suspension, brakes, and chassis upgrades.
    After the build was…”

“By the time this particular Fulvia was built, Fiat had owned Lancia long enough to have begun incorporating some profit-motivated changes. I spent a lot of time at the Lancia display at the Turin Auto Show in 1972, and following that wrote an article for the LANCIANA, the American Lancia Club newsletter. Some things I noted were “…the paint and overall finish is better than ever. Suspension bits are stampings now, rather than the nice hardware that we’re used to.. Plastic clips replace the…”

    “Who’s ready for a Story?
This Car is coming back to Maryland. My father-in-law was the Owner that bought the car in MD. A family member sold the car after his passing without us knowing. I have been searching for a white on cinnamon e46M3 for the better part of the last decade…. When this popped up I got excited. When I saw it was originally from MD, I thought there was a chance. When I saw his name on the paperwork in the old listing I LOST MY MIND… I am so excited to get his car back for…”

This is a top notch professional build with ties to a highly regarded local performance shop. Owner is a very nice guy too. I’ll miss seeing it at the local big events. Good luck Mr. H”

Thank you for the shout Randy @BaT – I would’ve missed the listing otherwise. Time travel is fun, eh?
I bought this car in Las Vegas in 2012 after years of hunting for a good one. Even back then, they were quite rare. On the drive home to San Francisco, I took a dirt detour through Titus Canyon in Death Valley, and you can see pics from that in the original auction gallery. One of my favorite car memories of all…”

Marrone Colorado is one of the best colors on these cars. Just outstanding, as is this example.
Having owned two of these cars, I can say that they are wonderful to drive in every respect. With proper servicing, they are as reliable as a Honda. They are not easy to work on and quite expensive for repairs and service.

Went down to the pits to say hello and got invited to be a “guest pit crew member” for Sunday’s race!! I expected to stand in the corner out of the way! Big surprise I was tasked with carrying the pit signal board from the pits to edge of the track to signal Roy Salvadori driving the team’s Cooper Monaco!! “In August 1981 at the Laguna Seca raceway, Briggs Cunningham was the guest of honor. He brought a good number of the original race cars to the track for that weekend and invited all the drivers and mechanics that had driven for him over the years for a weekend reunion. My father was one of those drivers. He and I rode our motorcycles from the Midwest out to California, timing it so that he could be there for the commemorative weekend. Mr. Cunningham assigned the C4 roadster to Fred Wacker to be…”

“When you are doing one of these cars, NEVER bond the bare steel cage without replacing the zinc chromate primer. That is a valid and strong corrosion inhibitor, used in aviation since the 1930’s. Today the cheap and easy way is to go to Aircraft Spuce and order the primer in rattlecan, but for a restoration of a C2 coupe, there is a hundred year upgrade. Consolidated Coatings of Riverside CA makes aircraft polyurethane in “yellow zinc” and “green zinc” colors for WWII aircraft restoration.…”
