“Great spot on the 2022 gearbox oil typo.
Our technicians during that time and during 2023 and 2021 records are all former trained factory Lamborghini guys. You can look them up!
As you can see both Motul and Lucas gear oil was used in 2021 and 2023, so I am very confident this is a “ShopWare” typo.
Our software system in the shop was very clunky until recently.
The former owner was very fussy, this is one of the best 1996-1997 Diablo Roadster examples we have seen. The car was…”

“I own the same car, even down to the 1592 twin cam and automatic transmission. It was built 6,028 cars later than this one, currently has 178,408 miles, and is our daily driver. I got it from the original owner’s family, and am technically the 4th caretaker. Since I also specialize in Fiats, I have serviced it mostly from new.
We take it on club tours, and it’s comfortable at an indicated 70+ mph. In 2024 we won worst in class at the concours d’lemons in Seaside California, and last year we…”

None. This sets a standart for everyone else.”

Thank you for the shout Randy @BaT – I would’ve missed the listing otherwise. Time travel is fun, eh?
I bought this car in Las Vegas in 2012 after years of hunting for a good one. Even back then, they were quite rare. On the drive home to San Francisco, I took a dirt detour through Titus Canyon in Death Valley, and you can see pics from that in the original auction gallery. “My dad also has a Judson in his ’56 lowlight and got me hooked on 36hps. I currently have an Okrasa and just pulled a ’58 T2 36hp out of my Brasilia science project. I see at one point in picture 507 this Ghia had an Okrasa setup. I would have loved to talk to the owner/builder and hear their feedback on the differences. Does the motor still have the Okrasa 69.5 crank or upgraded (356/custom) camshaft with the Judson setup? Does it by chance have a the uber rare “high compression” domed VW…”

Top down, rowing your own gears, flat-six at 9k RPM echoing off the cliffs… it turns every mile into an event. What a great Porsche. Here’s to the next owner racking up the miles on it.”
