What to Know About yesterday’s comments of note
A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:
“As a 48 year old blue collar helicopter mechanic with no inheritance coming, I really appreciate a vehicle like this. Even to be able to change the spark plugs would be an honour to someone like me.
This car is about as perfect a specimen of machinery as you can have. Congratulations to whoever the new owner is, as well as a hearty thank you to the previous and current owner for being such amazing caretakers and stewards of such a treasure.”
“Son of the former owner here. While many will associate this car with Martin Swig, this is the car I will always associate most with my dad.
I won’t try to compare my dad’s looks with those of a Sprint Lightweight, but the two had more in common than you might think. The more time you spent with either, the more you discovered beneath the surface. Behind that easygoing exterior was a playful, competitive spirit, very much tuned for speed and performance.
Dad bought the car around the time…”

“Thanks everyone. That was fun. My first bids and win on BaT. What a cool community.
I saw this car with Mario at the helm at Portland in ’91. My first indy car race with my dad, who is a huge Mario fan. Sentimental value is off the charts for me.”
