“This Bronco will be well loved and cherished here. Been a dream of mine to have a Stroppe Baja for many years. Bought a Stroppe tribute here years ago, still have it, still love it, getting a new motor as we speak. But man I always wanted one of the real ones, so cool!”

“congratulation to the new owner. as mentioned i am the third owner of this car and i am in many of the pictures with the car from the 80s. including pictures taken at Bloomington when the car was awarded a gold certificate. I enjoyed seeing those pictures again, have not seen them in decades.”

“Several years ago (well, maybe more than several!) I was offered a ride-along slot taking notes on the road trial of a 288 GTO which had just been serviced for a prominent collector here in MD. Midway through the loop, which was about thirty miles on various roads, we merged onto a local interstate at about 90 mph. The driver then floored it, the turbos spooled up, and at 90+ mph the tires chirped and the car rocketed forward, pushing us both back in our seats. I’ll remember that, always- at…”

“As soon as I saw the lead photo when this listing went live, I wondered if this was the same car I saw at Radwood Detroit a few years ago. Your early comment — and digging back through my pictures — confirmed my memory! You’ve done a great job preserving this awesome artifact of the ’90s era.
I had a ’94 GT 5-sp. in Teal Mist, and whenever I see one of these pop up on BAT, I’m tempted to jump in and try to relive my 20s. Subsequent cars I’ve owned have been faster and more…”

“This car was purchased from Ed Jurist By Ted Billings in 1966 after Ed had brought it back from South America. That Engine is supposed to be the backup to the Mormon Meteor and was shipped to Argentina so the car could be raced. That is a real blower looks exactly the same as it did in 1966 when Ted took possession of the car. Leo Gephart did not start making reproduction blowers until the 1970s. This is a a great car with real race history in South America. The 1960s photo of the…”

My team, along with @diverdave36 and so many incredible people throughout the vintage Indy community, spent well over 1,000 hours researching, completely disassembling, meticulously cleaning and cataloging every part, and carefully bringing this piece of history back together.

“Nice original car! Not too many still have T3 headlights that haven’t been restored to concours standards, so that says something about the originality.
Regarding the engine, from what I understand, very few 57s had 265s. The engine stamp would be good info to have. As a July built 283 4v, it should be something like T710FC (I had a Baltimore built 57 that predated this by about a week and it’s engine was T703F).”

My faith in humanity was restored, never in my life had I seen so many cool wagons and hot hatches ripping up and down the Autostrade and country roads. Even really neat turbo diesel variants.
    The Europeans get it.

“I had to chime in as this brought back memories. My dad had one with factory 4 speed and (at least) front disc brakes. Can’t remember the rears. Factory silver with a vinyl roof. That 4 speed was a LONG throw so it took a while to get there. A lot of axle hop. I always thought it would make a great sleeper hotrod with a bit of engine & suspension work. I had no idea how rare the factory options were. Who knew?”
