“I’ve always thought the ’69 Camaro is one of the most perfectly styled cars of the era, particularly as an RS Z/28. @BlackMountainMotorworks did the right thing by including a number of side profile photos. (Surprising how many sellers don’t!) The color on this one is fantastic, worthy of a poster.
Being an early Trans Am Series fan I was thrilled to get close to the Penske/Donahue #6 racer at an 80’s Walter Mitty. I have a packet of photos I keep aside so I can easily remind myself.…”

“I remember this model. It signaled to many that Hyundai was becoming a serious car company, at a time when some early Excels were still running around leaving clouds of blue oil smoke behind them. The Tiburon could have had Honda badges and nobody might have been the wiser.
Oh, one little “cheeky” thing, as the Brits like to say. Notice the faux intake runners on that plastic engine cover. (Photo #104.) At casual glance, it’s suggesting that the engine is in there longitudinally, perhaps even…”

    Wednesday , September 6th
The trip from Alpine home was the hardest part. Hugh kept driving faster and faster, and we were so anxious to get there. The only notes I have read like this: “Can finally sit down on the toilet seat!! No more wake-up calls. No unpacking and packing car every day. We’re home!!!””

“As a Norwegian, I am baffled by this car being used to ferry kids in the don’t stick out-culture of Sweden rather than any person knowing how to change gears. That’s the most American perspective ever, haha. Imagine this in a sea of ever similar Volvos and the occasional SAAB 9-5 wagon…the V12 sound must have had a hypnotizing effect on the crowd, who went straight home to judge the owner in all ways imaginable…”

“Beautiful B12 5.7. FYI – this car came with the CSi front spoiler when new from ALPINA. I have the information on all B12 5.7 E31 Coupes and which front spoiler they were delivered with. One could either spec the ALPINA lip or CSi front spoiler when specing the car when new. This car also started life as a CSi. Contrary to common thought, not all B12 5.7s started life as a CSi, but that is for a different discussion at a different time. Beautiful color – Ferrari Red.
    Good luck with…”

“Yes, this is John Schneider’s Dino.
In April 1997, he spoke about it in a Motor Trend interview:
The first Ferrari I got was a ’74 246 GTS Dino. Loved it. Should never have sold that car. It was just a screaming car. I don’t think anybody else could possibly get that much spit out of six cylinders. We had kind of a “cannonball run” going on one night on the way to Texas. I was going to do “Eddie Macon’s Run.” I had my Dino, an Aston Martin Volante, and, also every kid’s dream, a…”

“This is an absolutely stunning car. We had this one at Macchinissima III and it was a favorite. I had the pleasure to drive it a little bit. It is very approachable but the Ford engine does scream with all the best noises. Condition is on another level of this one.”

“My grandfather bought one of these new back in the day and got a surprise when he picked it up after its first scheduled service at the dealership. The service writer put “Aspen” on the repair order, so my grandfather asked him to correct it. Confused, the service guy walked over to his car and pointed at the “Aspen” badge on the side of the car. They walked around to the drivers side and were greeted by a “Volare” badge! I assume the workers on the assembly line just grabbed the…”

“Nobody paid much attention when the old Dodge arrived.
A 1970 Dodge Polara Police Pursuit sedan painted in authentic black and white with a 440 Magnum under the hood wasn’t exactly subtle. Long, square-jawed, and purposeful, it looked ready to issue citations despite having been retired for decades. Still, at Fort Stockton’s annual Classic Car Roundup, it found itself parked between a candy-apple red Corvette and a turquoise Thunderbird convertible. Compared to chrome and tailfins, an old…”

“It always amazed/surprised me that if you bought a Cadillac of that era, the convertible top from the inside exposed the bare metal frame and had no headliner but the modest VW came standard with a substantial padded cloth inner liner that concealed the frame structure while reducing road noise and increasing cabin warmth and comfort.”

    “@WIZZZZ
I met Fred at Bonneville in 1963. He had set a 2-way record the previous year at 99.06 mph with his absolutely stock Corvair Monza. I had managed to go 107 mph with my stock 61 Corvair but needed bigger tires. Fred told me that Rambler Station Wagons had 15″ wheels that would fit Corvairs. There was a little junk yard on the outskirts of Wendover, Utah right on the state border with Nevada. I went down there and found a Nash Rambler in there with two 6.40 X 15″ tires (1 was…”

I show up in my 1989 80 Quattro, my wife drove our 2001 TT 225 Roadster, and a guy I had never seen before at any Audi event shows up in one of these. Jaws dropped. He was super nice, down to earth, and had no problem with any of us getting in and checking it out.”
