“I would have seen this car take pole Vancouver Indy. Never missed a day of Indy CART when we had the series in Vancouver. What experiences! “I drove one of these on the Lotus Factory test track, a phenomenal car. This has the touring suspension which makes it a nice daily driver. I did not drive an Emira with the sport suspension but from what I hear it is still very streetable. I have a friend with an Emira so far the only repairs are software updates.”

“I was a teenager HS student working at the corner service station. We had a local Dr that had one of these, his was the beautiful dark blue with matching padded top. He would pull in for gas, 27 gallon tank. After putting the car in “Park” he would tilt the wheel which would almost go horizontal on these and throw a small towel that covered the wheel from rim edge to edge. Gas up. “My Dad was a district service manager for GM in the 90s and early 2000’s and as a part of that we would get a new demo car to drive every couple mos. After the dismal launch of the Aztec in 2000, GM wanted to get make the best out of a bad situation so they gave them to every service manager in the country to “get the word out”.
When I turned 16 and got my license, we got the Aztek. Bright yellow if I recall correctly, and rather than the usual 3 mos cycle, we had it for a full 7 mos.…”

“Nice original car! Not too many still have T3 headlights that haven’t been restored to concours standards, so that says something about the originality.
Regarding the engine, from what I understand, very few 57s had 265s. The engine stamp would be good info to have. As a July built 283 4v, it should be something like T710FC (I had a Baltimore built 57 that predated this by about a week and it’s engine was T703F).”

“Just a quick note from many years of experience with the various GTO continuation cars from Terry Hoyle and Rod Jolley.
Absolutely no one executed better examples ever. They were freakishly correct even down to the most minor details.
At various times, I had access to both original Series One, 250GTOs and 64 GTOs as well as having a Terry Hoyle copy in the showroom. They were indistinguishable from each other and would fool even the best experts if they did not see the chassis…”

“In my opinion, the original, first series “sports saloon” Jaguars are the purest and best. These are the ones you will see at Goodwood! I love the center instrument cluster, like the XK cars. I also think the smaller windows and extra wood interior appointments work extremely well with these cars. OK, the far more commonly surviving MK 2 cars are just fine in their own right, but just like in the consideration of the E type evolving variations, I remain firmly in the first original series…”
