We told you about Bill’s event raising money for Special Olympics. It’s called All Italian Day and it’s October 11th this year (https://www.alfaromeoassociation.org/content.aspx?page_id=4091&club_id=233974&item_id=2902395).

For several years we designed the t-shirt for the event. One of the last years I did the design, I felt we had to honor Bill and this wonderful car.

“Can’t believe the options on this one, it has factory Recaros before the ‘is’ was a thing. Plus the sport wheel, sunroof, and it’s in one of the best blues that BMW put on their in the 70s.

    “As a young couple we had a 1964 122sw from Massachusetts was which perfect given my tip income as a student & bartender. We ran it until the 225,000 mile mark and sold it for more than we paid for it. This restoration corrects for all of my Volvos obsolescence or weaknesses; larger engine; better fuel delivery; rust remediation, nice interior and respectable paint job. This one is a keeper! Thanks for posting.”

    “In 1967, my dad informed me that he had purchased, with my savings, 1960 Falcon with 60K miles for $325.00.
    While it would not have been my choice, I was excited to enter the world of independence from walking, bicycling and public transportation.
    The 144 ci engine didn’t last long with my heavy foot and the constant diet of re-refined oil I fed it from our local Site gas station.
    I found a 260 at the junk yard and that was a great improvement.
    The original radiator did not like the 260, so…”

    “I remember seeing these at the Buick dealer in Jamestown , NY. Soon to be just a Honda dealer. Well equipped at base price, and hard to get one.[1976].
    I moved back to Washington DC, in mid 78. By fall of 1979, i ordered a [Catherine] brown base car, from a dealer in Fredericksburg VA, which I realized ,after 5 months, was never going to come in. While visiting the local huge dealer in Arlington, I saw a Red LX. I asked if I might buy it for sticker, and the salesmen agreed. Signed the buyers…”
