“I remember street racing one of these against my 93 Typhoon. My awd blew it off the line but after about 100 feet or so I was staring at his taillights the rest of the way. These cars are deceptively fast. Beautiful example that will be way out of my budget. GLWTA!”

“Wow! I wish I was 30 years younger. This is a very solid looking start to what would be a great car! It looks like lots and lots of cleaning and derusting lies ahead! I did a ’62 years ago that started out a lot worse than this and ended up stunning. For the adventurous (and young) this could be an awesome project! GLWTA”

“Even as a “Project” this Hispano-Suiza exudes and elegance few cars can match.
I suppose it may be because of my affinity for Packards, but a V-12 (with the exception of that dreadful thing used in the Lincoln Zephyr) always grabs my attention. I hope we will get to see this wonderful car completed.

“For prospective buyers, Marcus Anghel is second to none in Mustang restoration. Getting a car that Marcus restored, even only partially like this one, is an honor. He is at the top for Gen-1 Mustang originality and details. Check out his website for an education.
And as others have noted, Gulfstream Aqua is a stunning factory color on this model.
Looking forward to the final price.”

“My first car was a 73 4 door custom. White with black vinyl roof and bondo fenders my Dad did with chicken wire. Slant 6 with an FM converter added that also picked up TV stations. Also had a 70 340 Swinger in HEMI orange for a few years. I have a soft spot for 70’s Darts. GLWTA!”

“I did the rear disc conversion on this truck many years ago. It was done using front hubs (bolt right on) and RRC /DI rear rotors and calipers. I never liked the way Land Rover cheaped out on the factory rear Salisbury disc setup by using the narrow drive flanges with short splines that strip out easily and short spindles with narrow spaced bearings… That’s why I used to do it this way, retaining the far better wide drive flanges and longer axle spline engagement, with wet splines. “I use to own that car. I bought it from the original owner who owned it in Sacramento California. When I sold it through a Ferrari shop located in San Mateo it went back east . At the time it still had it’s original paint and by looking at the pictures I think it still does.. I had both seats redone in the original material that I obtained from Italy.. i remember the car well. ( I designed the battery closing panel as I could not find back then an original battery cover.. “Nobody ever accused Gus Godley of being a visionary.
In 1959, Gus was a janitor at Chrysler’s Highland Park headquarters, a long way from Fort Stockton, Texas, where common sense was considered a civic virtue and automobiles were generally expected to resemble automobiles. He swept floors, emptied wastebaskets, and consumed enough Folgers to keep a small freight train running on schedule.
One rainy Tuesday morning, Gus was cleaning the Plymouth Design Studio before the stylists arrived.…”

“I think adding the Buick rally wheels was a great choice, especially with the white wall tires. They spice it up a bit without being obnoxious. I imagine that pulling the car cover over this beast would be quite a workout. For me, the only wagon more desirable than this would be a 1968 Olds Vista Cruiser.”

“A V10 Gated Gallardo is a big 12 year old goal for me to own. 12 year old me used to see the Gallardo all the time before the Huracan existed when I was in high school. No newer V10 baby Lambo can replace the Gallardo for being gated and better looking with age. GLWS on this Rosso Italian beauty.”

“Lauterbach hulls are indeed special as is the family. Thanks for the heads up about the book and reunion. If there was a way to get to the event it sure would be fun.
Back in the 1970’s on Seattles Green Lake were some special times. We would sit on the beach with a battery operated B&W 2 inch TV screen watching Indy and at the same time enjoy the boat races. Some hard core racing with Larry Lauterbach and then Tom D’Eath piloting Lauterbach hulls against John Leach’s Buccaneer.…”

“My great grandmother was one of the first VW owners in Montana. I think she was on her third VW when she purchased one just like this, same color, in 1962-63, from the dealer in Butte. By this time, my great grandfather had stopped driving, so she drove them everywhere. One road trip took them west to Seattle, down through San Francisco and finally to Phoenix before heading back home via the Grand Canyon and other sights. Quite an adventure–but just one of many–for two old fuddies in a…”

I quickly installed the Mopar Performance logic module and after getting the timing dialed in and an AutoMeter boost gauge installed, I was even more ready to “Go Like Hell.” So, one Friday evening in the spring, I was laying down rubber in first and second gear at each stop.

My auto on back roads, 2nd gear could go from about 25 mph to 70 mph. Often with a group of other 02s, I would be pushing the car in front of me that was modified. Third, the auto works while you find that 5 speed that is wider than a 4 speed and what else is wider? The tunnel in an automatic. No hammer needed for installation.
