Durian festival begins at Bluport Hua Hin
The Durian festival at Bluport Hua Hin has opened, bringing Pa La-U durians directly from local orchards to consumers at affordable prices.
The “Bluport x Imjai Durian Lover: Taste the Season, Share the Happiness” festival opened on Wednesday, 8 July, with Prachuap Khiri Khan Deputy Governor Prateep Boriboonrat presiding over the ceremony.
Also attending were Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Commerce Officer Siriwan Khanasorn, Bluport Hua Hin Managing Director Waji Klomkliang, Hua Hin District Chief Supachai Krutdam, Hua Hin Deputy Mayor Pailin Kongphan, Jirawan Boonrit, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan office, and Dr Sirikorn Nothim, President of the Association of Restaurant and Street Food Operators of Thailand in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The event runs from 8 to 13 July at the Port Event Hall on the G floor of Bluport Hua Hin.
Pa La-U durians delivered direct from orchards
Organised by the Ministry of Commerce, the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Agricultural Office and Imjai Market, the festival is intended to support Thai farmers, promote local entrepreneurs and raise awareness of quality agricultural products from the province.
Held under the theme “From the orchard to the city, from fruit to happiness”, the event features Pa La-U durians as its main attraction. The fruit is one of Hua Hin’s best-known local products and is known for its smooth texture, aroma, sweetness and rich flavour.
Premium-grade durians are being sold directly from orchard owners and producers, without middlemen, giving visitors the chance to buy fruit at more accessible prices while helping generate income for farmers.
The festival also includes seasonal fruit, safe agricultural products, food, drinks, processed goods, craft items and community products from more than 40 vendors.
Activities include durian-inspired dishes, Thai cultural performances, traditional dance, special “golden minute” promotions with discounts of up to 50%, fruit-eating competitions, a durian contest, sales promotions and cash coupon giveaways.
Residents and visitors can attend the Durian festival at Bluport Hua Hin free of charge until 13 July.
