Prachuap pushes wellness tourism across all eight districts
Prachuap Khiri Khan is moving ahead with its wellness tourism strategy, with model communities selected across all eight districts as part of plans to develop the province as a Wellness City.
Governor Sitthichai Sawatsan chaired a meeting on 30 June at the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Public Health Office to review progress under the province’s Wellness Economy programme.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Prateep Boriboonrat, heads of government agencies, district chiefs and representatives from relevant organisations. Some participants also joined online.
Wellness tourism plan covers all districts

Officials reviewed work being carried out in each district to strengthen health services and support sustainable wellness tourism.
The selected model health-conscious subdistricts are Hin Lek Fai in Hua Hin, Pak Nam Pran in Pranburi, Rai Kao in Sam Roi Yot, Kui Buri in Kui Buri, Ao Noi in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan, Na Hu Kwang and Thap Sakae in Thap Sakae, Ron Thong in Bang Saphan and Pak Phraek in Bang Saphan Noi.
Each community is using Lifestyle Medicine as a key part of its health promotion work. The programme includes training teachers, students and community leaders as Lifestyle Coaches, working with religious leaders, and using district-level quality of life committees to support local health initiatives.
Officials are also preparing subdistrict health charters aimed at preventing and reducing non-communicable diseases, while developing health tourism routes to add value to the local economy.
The meeting also reviewed progress on health-conscious classrooms, Medical Wellness hospital upgrades, beach massage activities, sand-covering activities, local health service development and the transfer of responsibilities involving subdistrict health-promoting hospitals.
Officials also discussed preparations for the “Tai Rom Phra Barami” event, scheduled to take place from 8 to 16 August at Hua Hin Railway Station.
The province said it will continue working with agencies and communities to strengthen health services, support tourism and improve residents’ quality of life.
