2 arrested at Multan Airport over Umrah visa traff…

MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two passengers, including a woman, at Multan International Airport for their alleged involvement in a human trafficking network linked to sexual exploitation in Saudi Arabia.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the passengers were intercepted during immigration clearance after officials noticed suspicious behavior. Both had reportedly travelled to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas.

During the subsequent examination of their mobile phones and digital communications, investigators allegedly found material indicating their possible involvement in a scheme involving commercial sexual exploitation.

The FIA said its preliminary investigation revealed that an agent had arranged the passengers’ travel to Saudi Arabia under the pretext of performing Umrah. Investigators suspect that the actual purpose was to subject them to commercial sexual exploitation after their arrival in the country.

The agency seized the passengers’ mobile phones and other relevant material for further investigation. The two suspects, along with the recovered evidence, were subsequently transferred to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Multan.

The FIA has expanded its investigation to trace the alleged agent and identify other individuals connected to the suspected trafficking network. Officials said legal action would be taken against all those found involved in the organized operation.

TANK: At least 14 security personnel were martyred and 27 others injured in a major suicide attack on the Manjhi Khel Joint Check Post in Tank district after terrorists rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the facility late Thursday night, triggering a massive blast. According to security and police sources, the powerful explosion caused extensive destruction to the check post, completely demolishing seven to eight rooms and damaging nearby houses. Shortly after the blast, an intense exchange of gunfire erupted between the attackers and security forces and continued for a considerable period. Sources said all attackers were killed during the ensuing security operation. A clearance and search operation remains underway as authorities continue removing debris and recovering bodies. All the wounded were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tank, for medical treatment. Preliminary information suggests the suicide attack was carried out using a Datsun/Mazda vehicle loaded with approximately 1,500 kilograms of explosives. Sources also claimed that a white Toyota Corolla GLi was used by the attackers, apparently to facilitate their movement after the explosion. Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a large scale search and clearance operation. Officials are collecting evidence to determine the full circumstances of the attack. However, an official statement confirming the casualty figures and operational details is still awaited. Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the martyred personnel are expected to be attended by Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed and Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Shahab Ali Shah. Naimal Khawar’s new look leaves fans stunned

Former actress and social media personality Naimal Khawar has become the subject of renewed online discussion after new photographs of her surfaced from a wedding event in Oslo, Norway. Naimal attended the wedding with her husband, actor Hamza Ali Abbasi. The couple was photographed alongside other guests during the event, with pictures later shared on Instagram by one of the attendees. For the occasion, Naimal wore a salmon-coloured traditional outfit. She kept her hair tied back and opted for soft makeup. Hamza Ali Abbasi appeared in a black smart-casual outfit and was seen posing for photographs with guests. The pictures quickly attracted attention from social media users, particularly because some viewers felt Naimal looked different from the way she usually appears in her own Instagram posts. Several users commented on her appearance and speculated about possible changes in her weight. Some went further and suggested that she might be expecting a baby. However, there has been no confirmation from Naimal Khawar or Hamza Ali Abbasi regarding such speculation. Other users criticised her appearance, with some making harsh comments about her face and overall look. The remarks have generated a debate online about the difference between photographs shared by celebrities themselves and candid pictures taken by others at public events. Naimal Khawar has largely remained away from acting in recent years and has focused on her personal life, family and social media activities. She frequently shares content related to art, travel and everyday moments with her followers. Her marriage to Hamza Ali Abbasi has also remained a subject of public interest. The couple generally maintains a relatively private personal life while occasionally appearing together at social events. The latest photographs have now attracted considerable attention because they provide a candid glimpse of the couple at a wedding outside Pakistan. While some fans simply appreciated the couple’s appearance and the event pictures, others focused heavily on Naimal’s appearance. Importantly, the pregnancy claims circulating online remain unverified. Changes in appearance in photographs can result from lighting, camera angles, clothing, makeup or other factors, and the available pictures do not provide evidence to confirm such claims.

Newcastle complete signing of goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from Braga

Newcastle, currently without a permanent manager, announced Monday that they have signed Czech Republic goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from Portuguese club Braga. Hornicek has agreed to a five year contract after Newcastle triggered his 30 million euro release clause, a fee equivalent to roughly 25.7 million pounds or 34.6 million dollars. He becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The 24 year old, who is expected to challenge Nick Pope for the starting goalkeeper role, described the past few days as an emotional experience since first learning of the move, and said he is thrilled to have completed the transfer. He said he is aware of Newcastle’s reputation as a major football city, pointing to the roughly 52,000 fans who fill St James’ Park and create an atmosphere he said pushes the team in every match, adding that he is eager to play in front of them. Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson said Hornicek has firmly established himself as one of the top young goalkeepers in Europe. The signing comes during a turbulent period for the club. Eddie Howe stepped down as Newcastle manager last week after five years in charge, following a difficult campaign that saw the team finish 12th in the Premier League. The club has also faced a challenging summer transfer window on other fronts. Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali has completed a move to Tottenham, while England forward Anthony Gordon has departed for Barcelona. Captain Bruno Guimaraes has also been strongly linked with a switch to Premier League champions Arsenal. Newcastle will open their Premier League season at home against Liverpool on August 23.

UK prosecutors urge US court to deny bail to Andrew and Tristan Tate ahead of extradition hearing

British prosecutors have urged a US court to keep social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan in custody ahead of a crucial detention hearing, warning the pair pose a severe flight risk and could intimidate witnesses if released. The brothers, who hold dual British and American citizenship, were arrested in Miami on 19 July following a formal extradition request by the United Kingdom. They face a total of 59 charges in the UK, including rape, human trafficking, and offences relating to indecent images of a child. In legal filings submitted ahead of Thursday’s bail hearing in the Southern District of Florida, the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) argued through US prosecutors that the brothers possess the financial resources and global influence needed to evade justice. Prosecutors highlighted the vulnerability of complainants in the case, noting that several alleged victims reported being assaulted and threatened with weapons. The CPS also cited previous social media posts by Andrew Tate in which he mocked law enforcement and hinted at methods to avoid arrest. Lawyers representing the Tate brothers acknowledged that granting bail during international extradition proceedings is rare, but insisted their clients have shown no intention of fleeing prosecution. The brothers were previously arrested in Romania in 2022 on human trafficking charges, though Romanian courts lifted travel restrictions in early 2025, allowing them to travel to the United States. If the US courts rule in favour of extradition, the final decision to surrender the brothers to British authorities will rest with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. If convicted in the UK, both men could face life imprisonment.
