Cardi B sets record straight on cosmetic procedures

Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has addressed renewed speculation about her appearance, revealing that she has already undergone a butt reduction procedure while making it clear she has no plans for further major cosmetic surgery anytime soon.
The rapper responded to the rumours during a recent Instagram Live session after seeing repeated comments from fans suggesting she should reduce her butt. According to Cardi, many people were unaware that she had already done exactly that.
“A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my ass reduced,” Cardi said during the livestream.
She quickly set the record straight, adding, “I don’t need to go get my ass reduced, news flash, I did get my ass reduced.”
The rapper explained that cosmetic procedures are not as straightforward as many people believe. She said another liposuction procedure is not a realistic option because of the condition of her skin following previous surgeries.
“I can’t just go and lipo my butt because my skin is like kinda loose,” she explained. “That’s why my ass shakes so much.”
Cardi added that removing more tissue through liposuction could create additional complications.
“So if I just go and get a lipo reduction… my ass could drop,” she said, noting that the only alternative would involve a more invasive operation requiring a lengthy recovery period.
“So I would have to cut myself. And I’m not cutting myself. I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside.”
The 33-year-old also stressed that she is happy with the way she looks today.
“I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin.”
Cardi reminded fans that she has always been transparent about the cosmetic work she has chosen to undergo throughout her career.
“I’m very, very honest,” she said before revealing, “First of all, I got two lipos and one ass reduction.”
The rapper also explained that she chose to reduce her previous biopolymer injections because she naturally has a petite frame.
“First thing first, I am a small girl. I’m a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister’s petite. My aunts are small.”
Addressing critics who continue to speculate about her appearance, Cardi insisted that much of her current physique is also the result of healthy eating rather than surgery alone. She shared that she regularly eats grilled chicken and grilled salmon while also drinking fibre-based beverages.
She encouraged fans not to starve themselves in pursuit of unrealistic beauty standards before dismissing ongoing rumours about additional cosmetic procedures.
“Y’all acting like y’all new to this. Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now?” she said, later adding, “I’m being as honest as possible.”

HRW says Israeli strike that killed journalist was war crime

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has accused Israel of carrying out a deliberate airstrike that killed Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil, saying the attack may amount to a war crime under international law. In a report released on Wednesday, the international rights organisation said the strike targeted Amal Khalil and her camerawoman, Zainab Faraj, while they were covering Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon earlier this year. Amal Khalil, a reporter for the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on April 22 in the town of Al-Tayri. Her colleague, camerawoman Zainab Faraj, was seriously injured in the same attack. According to HRW, the available evidence suggests the Israeli military knew journalists were inside the building before launching the strike. The organisation said information gathered during its investigation indicates the attack was intentional and violated international humanitarian law. The report also referred to requests made by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the International Committee of the Red Cross for access to the area. HRW said these requests support evidence that authorities were aware of the presence of journalists at the location. Human Rights Watch further stated that Amal Khalil remained alive for some time after the strike. However, it alleged that Israeli forces prevented rescue workers from reaching the site, delaying emergency medical assistance that could have improved her chances of survival. The organisation said deliberately targeting journalists performing their professional duties and blocking humanitarian access are serious violations of international law. It added that such actions could constitute war crimes and should be investigated independently. HRW called for a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident and urged those responsible to be held accountable. It also stressed that journalists covering armed conflicts are civilians protected under international humanitarian law and must not be targeted during military operations.

Andrew Garfield heaps praise on Tom Holland’s Sp…

Andrew Garfield has made it clear that there is nothing but admiration between the actors who have worn Spider-Man’s famous red-and-blue suit. The Amazing Spider-Man star recently opened up about Tom Holland’s portrayal of the beloved Marvel superhero, describing him as an “incredible actor” and expressing genuine excitement for Holland’s continued success as Peter Parker. Speaking during a promotional appearance for his latest film, Garfield was asked about Holland’s time as Spider-Man. Rather than comparing their performances, the Oscar-nominated actor focused on praising his successor, saying, “I love him,” while applauding Holland’s talent and dedication to the role. Garfield also said he is looking forward to seeing Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latest installment in Holland’s Marvel journey.  Garfield portrayed Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its 2014 sequel before passing the torch to Holland, who officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016. Although each actor has brought a different interpretation to the web-slinging hero, Garfield believes the character is in safe hands. Calling Holland an “incredible actor,” Garfield praised the emotional depth and energy he brings to Spider-Man. His comments reflect the respect that has long existed between the two stars, both on and off screen.  The pair famously shared the screen alongside Tobey Maguire in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film that united three generations of Spider-Man for the first time. Garfield previously described the experience as one of the most joyful moments of his career, saying it felt like celebrating the character’s enduring legacy rather than competing over it. During his latest interview, he joked that while he was simply enjoying the ride, Holland had the difficult task of carrying the film’s emotional weight.  Garfield’s supportive remarks come as excitement builds around Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which marks Holland’s latest outing as the iconic superhero. Fans have also continued to speculate about whether Garfield could one day return to the Marvel universe, though the actor has remained playful and noncommittal whenever asked about future appearances.  For Spider-Man fans, Garfield’s latest comments are another reminder that there is no rivalry between the actors behind the mask. Instead, there is mutual respect and appreciation for the responsibility of portraying one of the world’s most beloved superheroes. As Holland continues to lead the franchise, Garfield says he will be cheering him on—proof that once you’re part of the Spider-Man family, the bond never really disappears.

    Petrol down Rs3.39, diesel Rs4.07

The federal government has announced another reduction in petroleum prices, lowering the rates of both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) effective August 5 under the recently introduced daily fuel pricing mechanism. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Petroleum, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs3.39 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs328.56 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has also been cut by Rs4.07 per litre, with the revised rate set at Rs385.86 per litre. The latest reduction follows a similar decrease announced a day earlier, reflecting continued adjustments under the government’s daily fuel price review system. The new pricing mechanism, introduced on July 17, determines fuel prices using a seven-day average of international oil market rates. The policy aims to align domestic petroleum prices more closely with global market trends and allow quicker adjustments in response to fluctuations in crude oil prices. Pakistan remains heavily dependent on imported crude oil and refined petroleum products, making local fuel prices highly sensitive to movements in international energy markets. Changes in global oil prices directly affect the country’s import bill, foreign exchange reserves and inflation. Energy analysts say international petroleum prices continue to be influenced by geopolitical developments, including tensions in the Middle East, decisions by OPEC+ countries, sanctions on major oil producers and disruptions in key global shipping routes. These factors can significantly impact crude oil prices and transportation costs, ultimately affecting domestic fuel prices in Pakistan.

Usman Tariq has received an NOC for the tournament from August 8 to September 18, while Usama Mir has been granted permission from August 7 to September 21. The PCB’s decision is expected to provide the players with an opportunity to test themselves in competitive overseas conditions while gaining experience alongside international stars. For Pakistan’s emerging cricketers in particular, participation in leagues such as the CPL can offer exposure to different playing conditions, coaching methods and high-pressure situations. The NOCs also underline the board’s approach of allowing players to balance domestic responsibilities with selected international franchise opportunities. With several Pakistani players now set to feature in the CPL, fans will be watching closely to see which performers can make the most of their overseas assignments and strengthen their claims for future national selection.
