Cha-am Squid Festival 2026 set for 12–19 September
The Cha-am Squid Festival 2026 will return from 12–19 September 2026, with the annual event taking place at the Cha-am Beach Viewpoint.
Cha-am Municipality confirmed the dates following a planning meeting held on Monday, 20 July, to coordinate preparations for the festival, which is officially known as the 25th Eat Shellfish, Catch Squid @ Cha-am Festival.
Cha-am Mayor Nukul Pornsomboonsiri chaired the meeting, which was attended by municipal executives, the superintendent of Cha-am Police Station and the president of the Thai Hotels Association Western Chapter.
Representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phetchaburi Office, local government departments, private businesses and other relevant agencies also took part.
Officials discussed arrangements intended to ensure the event runs smoothly, safely and efficiently for residents and visitors.
Preparations under way for Cha-am Squid Festival 2026
September and October are considered the peak season for squid in the area, and squid fishing at sea has traditionally been one of the festival’s main attractions.
Based on previous editions, visitors are also expected to be able to sample seafood and regional dishes from restaurants in Phetchaburi and neighbouring provinces.
Stalls selling locally made products, including OTOP goods and handicrafts, are also likely to form part of the event.
The festival provides local restaurants, food producers and small businesses with an opportunity to present their products to a wider audience while supporting tourism and economic activity in Cha-am.
The Shellfish and Squid Festival has become one of the district’s best-known annual events, highlighting Cha-am’s fishing traditions, seafood and coastal attractions.
