Fahad Sheikh responds to Syed Mohammad Ahmed controversy

Pakistani actor and host Fahad Sheikh has addressed the controversy surrounding allegations that he mistreated veteran actor Syed Mohammad Ahmed on a drama set.

The controversy began after Syed Mohammad Ahmed spoke about an unpleasant experience involving a younger lead actor. Although he did not publicly name the actor, Fahad Sheikh was later identified by social media users as the person allegedly involved in the incident.

The allegations quickly attracted attention across social media, with several Pakistani celebrities and fans expressing support for the veteran actor. Fahad also faced criticism over the incident and was urged to explain his side of the story.

Responding to the controversy, Fahad Sheikh said the video circulating online was taken from what he described as a joking interaction among members of the cast. He maintained that the actors had developed a family-like bond while working together.

Fahad also addressed Syed Mohammad Ahmed directly and offered an apology. He said he was willing to apologise publicly again if the senior actor wanted him to do so.

However, Fahad expressed anger over the leaked footage. He warned that legal action could be taken against those responsible for recording or sharing the video without permission.

His response has failed to end the controversy, as social media users continue to debate whether the incident should be dismissed as a joke or treated as inappropriate behaviour towards a senior colleague.

Some users criticised Fahad for focusing on the leaked video and possible legal action rather than giving a stronger apology. Others argued that the complete context of the incident should be considered before reaching a final conclusion.

The controversy has also reignited discussions about workplace behaviour and respect for senior artists in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

Syed Mohammad Ahmed remains a respected figure in Pakistani television and has received considerable support from fellow actors and viewers following his account of the incident.

New provinces a national issue, says Aleem Khan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Abdul Aleem Khan has said the creation of new provinces is a national issue and should not be sacrificed for political interests or expediency. In a statement, Aleem Khan said people across the country wanted new provinces to be created on an administrative basis. He said the IPP would continue raising its voice for the issue at every forum. The federal minister said the prevailing circumstances clearly demanded a new working order across the country. He urged politicians to take ownership of the demand for new provinces while fulfilling their responsibilities. Aleem Khan said political leaders needed to focus on resolving public problems instead of protecting their personal influence and authority. He stressed that the creation of new provinces was a national matter and should not become a victim of political considerations. The IPP president said there was nothing wrong with dividing each of the four existing provinces into four administrative units, if this helped improve governance and addressed public issues. He also expressed support for the creation of South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces. Aleem Khan said the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party also supported the demand for a Hazara province. He noted that voices were also being raised for new provinces in Punjab and Sindh. He said demands for a Hazara province had been raised in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly since 2010. Aleem Khan welcomed the fact that major political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were now supporting the creation of a Hazara province. He said the debate over new provinces should be approached as a matter of better administration, public welfare and effective governance rather than narrow political interests.

Speaking to students at the event, the governor said it was an honor to participate in the distribution of laptops, describing the initiative as a significant step toward empowering Pakistan’s youth through education and technology. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for prioritizing educational development and providing students with modern learning opportunities. # A$AP Rocky responds to Drake’s ‘Burning Brid…

A$AP Rocky has addressed the renewed tension surrounding Drake after the Canadian rapper appeared to reference Rocky and his partner, Rihanna, on his song “Burning Bridges.” The track, released as part of Drake’s 2026 album Iceman, quickly sparked discussion among hip-hop fans. Listeners interpreted several lines as possible references to Rocky, particularly a lyric questioning where a rapper’s “baby mama” was while discussing his music. Because Rihanna and Rocky are partners and share a family, fans quickly connected the lyrics to the Harlem rapper. However, neither Drake nor Rocky has explicitly confirmed every interpretation of the song. (Just Jared) Rocky and Drake’s complicated history The tension between the two rappers has been developing for years. Rocky previously addressed their relationship in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, saying that he no longer had a good relationship with Drake. He also suggested that women and past relationships played a role in how their friendship deteriorated. (BET) The situation gained additional attention after Drake released Iceman, with fans examining its lyrics for references to Rocky, Rihanna and other celebrities. Rocky has not appeared interested in letting the online conversation dictate his response. Instead, his recent comments suggest that he is aware of the speculation but remains focused on his own career. Rihanna remains part of the conversation Drake’s apparent reference to Rihanna has attracted particular attention because of her history with both artists. Rihanna and Drake previously collaborated on several songs and had a widely discussed relationship, while she has been romantically involved with Rocky since 2020. Rihanna has also publicly supported Rocky’s career. After his album Don’t Be Dumb reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in January, she celebrated the achievement publicly, contradicting the idea that she had not supported his music. (Just Jared) The feud continues The latest exchange adds another chapter to one of hip-hop’s most closely followed rivalries. Rocky has previously responded to online speculation with humor and occasional jabs, including a July concert moment in which he held up a fan’s anti-Drake sign. (iHeart) For now, there is no indication that the situation has moved beyond music and public comments. Drake’s lyrics have fueled plenty of discussion, but interpretations remain largely driven by fans. Rocky appears to be moving forward with his own music and performances while maintaining his relationship with Rihanna and focusing on his growing family. Whether he chooses to answer Drake directly in a future song remains to be seen.

Fifty UK police chiefs urge prime minister to halt early release of PC Harper’s killers

Fifty police chiefs from across the United Kingdom have sent a joint letter to Prime Minister Andy Burnham, urging the government to exhaust every legal avenue to prevent the early release of the teenagers convicted in the 2019 death of PC Andrew Harper. PC Harper, a 28-year-old Thames Valley Police officer, died after being dragged behind a getaway car following a quad bike theft in Berkshire. Two of the men convicted of his manslaughter, Jessie Cole and Albert Bowers, were sentenced to 13 years in 2020. Under recent legislative changes to manage severe prison overcrowding, both men are due to become eligible for release in January after serving half their sentences. The intervention by police chiefs across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland supports Burnham’s recent declaration that he is confident a legal resolution can be found to halt their discharge. In Downing Street, officials reiterated that the government intends to do everything within its power to block the early release. Beyond the specific case, the letter highlights broader concerns regarding public safety, victim impact, and officer morale. The police chiefs argued that reducing sentences for individuals involved in the deaths of emergency service personnel undermines the perceived sacrifice of officers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public. The police leaders called on the government to mandate explicit public protection reviews before amending release terms for offenders convicted of serious violence or causing death, while also ensuring bereaved families are formally consulted whenever significant sentencing changes are implemented.
