Fuel prices jump sharply across Thailand

Fuel prices in Thailand rose sharply on Thursday after the government reduced subsidies, pushing petrol and diesel costs up by as much as six baht per litre nationwide.

The increase took effect from 5am on 26 March following a decision by the state Oil Fuel Fund Executive Committee a day earlier to scale back financial support that had helped stabilise retail prices. The move has resulted in an immediate adjustment at major fuel stations across the country, affecting motorists, businesses and logistics operators.

At PTT stations, high-speed diesel is now priced at 38.94 baht per litre, while B7 premium diesel has risen to 54.64 baht. Petrol prices have also increased significantly, with gasohol 91 reaching 40.68 baht per litre and gasohol 95 climbing to 41.05 baht.
