Hassan Murtaza slams alleged AJK rigging

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Punjab General Secretary Hassan Murtaza has accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of rigging in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.

Murtaza said the election process was marred by serious violations of the electoral code of conduct. He alleged that the rules were repeatedly ignored during polling.

He made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Lahore.

Murtaza also criticised the role of the Election Commission during the elections. He alleged that the commission failed to perform its duties impartially. According to him, it appeared to be acting like an election agent instead of an independent institution.

The PPP leader strongly criticised the PML-N over the election results. He accused the party of setting a new example of electoral manipulation.

“You steal the mandate of whoever you want,” Murtaza said while criticising the PML-N.

He also referred to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s statements about AJK. Murtaza said Sharif was now visiting Kashmir and calling for himself to be made prime minister.

The PPP leader said the current political situation in AJK was also linked to the sacrifices and political role of the PPP.

Murtaza said that if Nawaz Sharif was able to go to Kashmir today and demand the prime minister’s position, it was partly because of the PPP’s political contribution.

The PPP leader also raised serious concerns over violence during the polling process.

He said a PPP worker was killed on election day. Murtaza described the incident as a serious matter that would remain part of the political record.

He said history would record what happened during the elections. It would also establish who was responsible for the violence and who lost his life.

The allegations came after the PML-N emerged as the leading party in the first phase of the AJK elections. The party secured nine seats, according to the results cited in the report

Foreign Office extends consular services to evenin…

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced an evening shift for consular services to make it easier for citizens to access essential facilities outside conventional office hours. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the new arrangement on Monday. Under the revised schedule, consular services will now remain available from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday. The extended hours are aimed at improving access to services and making the process more convenient for applicants who cannot visit government offices during normal working hours. The Foreign Office said the initiative is part of its broader effort to improve public service delivery and make consular facilities more citizen-friendly. Previously, consular services were generally available during standard government office hours. This created difficulties for people with work commitments and for overseas Pakistanis who needed to visit the ministry for documentation and other consular matters. The new evening shift will provide applicants with additional time to complete their requirements and access relevant services. The ministry has also issued a public notice outlining the revised working hours and arrangements for consular services. The Foreign Office said the initiative reflects its focus on improving efficiency, accessibility and the overall experience of citizens seeking consular assistance.

LAPD expert testifies on air fresheners found in D4vd’s Tesla

A Los Angeles Police Department criminalist gave testimony this week about evidence found inside singer D4vd’s Tesla. Chelsea Murillo took the stand on July 22, the second day of the preliminary hearing, and told the court that she discovered eleven air fresheners scattered throughout the vehicle. Most of them were found in the center console, the rear seats, and the frunk. Murillo said she also noticed air fresheners tucked into the rear door pockets. Beyond that, she reported finding insects and dead flies in the vehicle’s front storage compartment. During her testimony, prosecutors presented photos as evidence. One image showed the air fresheners recovered from the car and the other displayed a mass of fly larvae found in the area where the body had reportedly been hidden. Murillo described a strong smell coming from inside the vehicle. She testified that the odor matched what she recognized as the smell of a decomposing body. The forensic inspection took place on September 9, 2025, one day after the remains were first discovered. The case centers on the death of a 14-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez, D4vd is accused of killing her in 2025. Prosecutors allege the teen had threatened to expose details about a sexual relationship with the singer. According to reports, Celeste was just 13 years old when the relationship reportedly began. The preliminary hearing is expected to continue as more evidence and testimony are presented. Investigators have focused heavily on forensic details tied to the vehicle, given its central role in the case. Court proceedings so far have relied on physical evidence, including scent-based observations and biological findings inside the car. The presence of insects and decomposition-related signs has become a key point in establishing the timeline of events. D4vd has not been convicted, and the legal process remains ongoing. The hearing will help determine whether the case moves forward to trial. As details continue to emerge, the case has drawn significant public attention, given the singer’s public profile and the serious nature of the allegations involved. Updates from the courtroom are expected in the coming days as the hearing progresses further.

Zelenskyy warns Egypt of Black Sea food security threats as Russia rejects maritime ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has cautioned Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi that ongoing Russian strikes on commercial shipping in the Black Sea pose a direct threat to regional food security and grain exports across Africa and the Middle East. Speaking via X, Zelenskyy noted that significant supply reductions are already driving up global grain prices and warned of severe consequences if attacks on cargo vessels persist. In response to proposals for a maritime truce, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova rejected a third-party proposal from Kyiv to halt strikes on civilian shipping. Moscow dismissed the initiative as a “half-measure” that would merely grant Ukrainian forces operational breathing space, accusing Kyiv of attempting to destabilise Black Sea shipping routes. The diplomatic standoff coincides with several broader geopolitical developments across the region. Russian authorities acknowledged domestic petrol shortages after a Ukrainian strike forced the six-month closure of the Orsk oil refinery, located 1,300 km from the front line. Meanwhile, Polish officials warned that Russian cyber actors are exploiting historical grievances over World War II massacres to strain relations between Warsaw and Kyiv. Further escalating regional concerns, Romanian defence officials confirmed that a second unidentified drone crashed inside NATO territory near the border village of Plauru, whilst Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed deep security cooperation with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during commemorations marking the end of Japanese colonial rule.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spark fresh marriage speculation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again become the subject of public discussion following renewed reports about their relationship, with claims suggesting the couple may be leading increasingly separate lives. According to recent media reports, an unnamed source alleged that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been spending significantly less time together in recent months. The source claimed that while the couple remain committed to their family and professional responsibilities, their daily routines and personal priorities have gradually shifted in different directions. The report suggested that the changes are not limited to their busy work schedules. Instead, it claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have developed separate focuses, resulting in fewer shared public appearances and less time spent together compared to previous years. Observers have noted that the couple have attended several events independently in recent months, fueling speculation about the state of their marriage. However, no official statement has been issued by either Prince Harry or Meghan Markle regarding the claims, and the reports remain unverified. One example highlighted in the report was Prince Harry’s solo trip to the United Kingdom in connection with preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games. The Duke has remained closely involved with the international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans since its launch, and his recent visit was linked to planning activities for the upcoming edition. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle has reportedly been focusing on expanding her business ventures and lifestyle projects in the United States. She has continued to pursue various entrepreneurial initiatives while also balancing family life with the couple’s two children. The latest claims have reignited widespread discussion across social media, where royal watchers continue to debate the couple’s relationship. Similar rumors have surfaced on several occasions since Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family in 2020. Despite recurring speculation, the couple have previously presented a united front during interviews and public appearances. Relationship rumors involving high-profile public figures often attract significant attention, particularly when the individuals involved maintain busy and separate professional commitments. However, independent confirmation of such reports is frequently unavailable, making it difficult to determine the accuracy of anonymous claims. As of now, there is no official confirmation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are experiencing marital difficulties or living separately. The latest reports are based solely on unnamed sources and have not been substantiated by representatives for the couple. Until either Prince Harry or Meghan Markle publicly addresses the speculation, the claims should be viewed as unverified reports rather than established fact. Their supporters and royal commentators alike will likely continue to monitor the couple’s public appearances and future engagements for any indication of their current relationship status.
