Joe Wicks shares simple habit that transformed his parenting

Fitness coach and television personality Joe Wicks has opened up about how exercise has transformed not only his physical health but also his parenting, revealing that his daily workout routine helps him remain patient with his four young children.
The 40-year-old fitness expert, who has built a global following with more than four million Instagram followers, shared the personal insight during a recent question-and-answer session, explaining that he exercises every morning before his children wake up to help regulate his emotions.
Wicks said his message about fitness has evolved over the years and is now centred more on mental wellbeing than physical appearance.
“The message I always share now is that exercise is about mental health. It’s about boosting your mood into being confident and energised and being a good parent and being patient,” he said.
The father of four admitted that raising young children can be overwhelming, but said regular exercise allows him to approach parenting with a calmer mindset.
“I have got four kids under seven and they stress me out so much, right? And if I didn’t exercise, I would be like my mum – she screamed at me and shouted at me and slammed doors. I’d be like my dad, I’d be aggressive and so for me, it’s like, I exercise every morning before they wake up, so I’m a calm dad,” Wicks explained.
The fitness coach has previously spoken publicly about the difficult environment he experienced growing up. His father struggled with a long-term heroin addiction, while his mother battled obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and eating disorders.
Drawing on those experiences, Wicks said he is determined to create a different atmosphere for his own family and believes physical activity plays an important role in achieving that goal.
He stressed that exercise should not be viewed simply as a way to improve appearance, but rather as a tool for improving overall wellbeing and relationships.
“And that’s what I always share, exercise isn’t about how you look, it is also more than that. It’s so much more than that,” he said.
Encouraging others to use their influence responsibly, Wicks urged people with public platforms to promote the wider benefits of staying active.
“So just wherever you are, if you’re an influencer or you’ve got a platform, always share that message that exercise is a really powerful tool to change how you feel and help the relationship around you,” he added.
Wicks shares four children with his wife Rosie. The couple are parents to Indie, Marley, Leni and Dusty, and the fitness coach has frequently spoken about balancing family life with his career.
Known internationally for promoting home workouts and healthy living, Wicks has increasingly focused on the emotional and psychological benefits of exercise in recent years. His latest comments highlight how fitness has become part of his daily parenting routine, helping him stay patient and emotionally present for his children.
Rather than chasing physical goals alone, Wicks said his morning workouts are about becoming the best version of himself for his family, explaining that maintaining his own mental wellbeing allows him to build healthier relationships with the people he loves most.

Goods transport strike threatens Pakistan’s industry

KARACHI: A nationwide strike by goods transporters has triggered growing concern among industrialists, who fear that a prolonged disruption in cargo movement could disrupt factory operations, delay export shipments and add further pressure to Pakistan’s already fragile economy. Business leaders have warned that the continued suspension of freight services could create serious bottlenecks in the supply chain, particularly for industries that rely on the regular movement of raw materials and intermediate goods. Any prolonged shortage of essential inputs could force factories to slow down production or temporarily shut operations. The industrial sector is also facing the risk of delays in the delivery of finished products to domestic markets and international buyers. Export-oriented industries, in particular, could suffer if consignments fail to reach ports or overseas customers within agreed timelines. President of the SITE Association of Industry (SAI) Abdul Rehman Fudda said the transporters’ strike had created a critical situation for the manufacturing sector, as industries could not maintain uninterrupted production without a reliable logistics network. He said factories depended on the timely arrival of raw materials and the smooth transportation of finished goods. Any disruption in freight movement, he added, could interrupt production schedules and increase costs for manufacturers. Fudda warned that the impact of the strike could extend beyond factories, affecting workers, suppliers, exporters, retailers and other businesses linked to the industrial supply chain. He pointed out that Pakistan’s export sector was already operating under significant pressure because of high production costs and other economic challenges. A disruption in transportation, he said, would further increase the difficulties faced by exporters. The SAI president cautioned that delays in export shipments could have financial as well as reputational consequences. International buyers may impose penalties, demand price reductions or seek compensation when shipments fail to arrive within agreed deadlines. According to him, exporters operate under strict delivery schedules, and even a temporary disruption in logistics can affect production planning, container bookings and shipment arrangements. Fudda stressed that the consequences of the strike should be assessed from a broader economic perspective rather than being viewed solely as a dispute between transporters and other stakeholders. He said an interruption in the movement of goods could affect the entire supply chain, from the procurement of raw materials to the manufacturing process and eventual delivery of products to customers. The industrialist further warned that repeated delays in fulfilling export orders could undermine the confidence of foreign buyers and make it more difficult for Pakistani businesses to retain existing international contracts or secure new orders. Industrialists have therefore urged the relevant authorities and representatives of goods transporters to resolve their differences at the earliest and restore the movement of cargo across the country. They maintained that an uninterrupted logistics system was essential for keeping factories operational, protecting jobs, meeting export commitments and supporting economic activity. Business leaders also called for a sustainable resolution to the issues behind the transporters’ strike so that similar disruptions could be avoided in the future. They said uncertainty in the movement of goods not only affects individual industries but can also have wider implications for investment, exports, government revenue and overall economic growth. With industries already facing a challenging business environment, manufacturers fear that a prolonged transport shutdown could further increase operational costs and compound supply-chain problems. They urged the authorities to prioritise negotiations and ensure the resumption of freight services without further delay.

Poland’s main opposition party splits following loyalty pledge ultimatum

Poland’s main opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party has fractured following a severe internal dispute over its political strategy, with former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and dozens of his allies breaking ranks with longtime leader Jarosław Kaczyński. The split occurred after Kaczyński issued an ultimatum demanding all PiS lawmakers sign a strict loyalty oath committing them not to collaborate with outside political groups. Dozens of parliamentarians, led by Morawiecki, refused to sign the pledge before the deadline, leading Kaczyński to declare that those who abstained had effectively resigned from the party. The former prime minister confirmed that his faction includes 40 members of parliament, three members of the European Parliament, and one senator, though he maintained that his group sought to preserve unity while broadening the right-wing electoral base toward younger, centre-right voters. The division threatens PiS’s status as the largest party in the Polish parliament, a position it held despite losing power to Donald Tusk’s pro-European coalition in 2023. As the conservative vote increasingly fragments across competing factions ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections, the formal expulsion of the dissident lawmakers is scheduled to be processed at a party leadership meeting.

Rana Sanaullah says sit-in protesters failed to st…

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the groups holding sit-ins had attempted to disrupt the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections but failed to achieve their objective. Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Rana Sanaullah said the people of Azad Kashmir had exercised their right to vote and given a mandate to their chosen representatives. He said the process of government formation in Azad Kashmir would begin after the completion of the third phase of the elections. Rana Sanaullah expressed hope that the groups staging protests would now recognise the situation and end their sit-ins. He said the government was willing to review the legitimate demands of the protesters. However, he warned that individuals who take up arms or act against the state would have to face legal action. The adviser also rejected allegations of widespread election rigging. He said those making such claims had so far failed to present evidence to support their allegations. Rana Sanaullah accused the Pakistan Peoples Party of using allegations of rigging to cover up what he described as its electoral defeat. He said the PPP was still raising concerns about alleged rigging, but the intensity of its claims had decreased compared with earlier stages of the election. He expressed hope that PPP leaders would eventually accept the results and congratulate the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on its performance. Polling in the third phase of the Azad Kashmir elections was continuing, while authorities reported that the overall voting process remained peaceful. Rana Sanaullah said elements that had attempted to prevent people from casting their votes had failed in their efforts. He maintained that voters were freely exercising their democratic right and choosing their representatives through the ballot. The prime minister’s adviser also expressed confidence about the formation of the next government in Azad Kashmir. He claimed that the results available so far indicated that the PML-N was on course to form the government with a two-thirds majority. Rana Sanaullah described the elections as free, fair and transparent. He said the democratic process had allowed the people of Azad Kashmir to give a clear mandate to their representatives. He added that the government would focus on addressing public issues after the elections. According to Rana Sanaullah, the completion of the third phase will pave the way for the formal process of government formation in Azad Kashmir. The remarks came amid political tensions surrounding the elections and protests. The government has repeatedly called for the continuation of the democratic process, while opposition groups have raised concerns over the conduct of the polls.

Angela Levin melts over George, Charlotte and Louis’ rare Scotland outing

Royal commentator Angela Levin has reacted to new photos of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Levin is widely known for her sharp criticism of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This time, though, her reaction was far warmer. The photos came from a rare public outing. Kate Middleton and Prince William appeared together with their three children at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. It isn’t often the young royals are seen together at such events. Following the outing, Kensington Palace shared a striking family photo and video online. The palace captioned the post with a message about the day. “Incredible atmosphere at the Commonwealth Games today. Watching world-class talent compete and seeing the power of sport to bring people together is truly special. Thank you to everyone involved for such a wonderful day,” the caption read. Shortly after, a royal fan account shared a collage of the three children on X, formerly Twitter. The post simply named the children alongside the date of the appearance. Levin responded to the post directly. She wrote, “Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are gorgeous children.” The comment stood out, given her usual tone when discussing the wider royal family. This outing also carried extra weight beyond the photos themselves. It marked the first official occasion where George, Charlotte, and Louis were seen publicly in Scotland together. While in Scotland, William and Kate hold the titles Duke and Duchess of Rothesay. During their visit, the couple spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families at the Games. Afterward, the couple shared a message celebrating the competitors. “Congratulations to every athlete taking part in this year’s Commonwealth Games! A special well done to Team Wales for proudly representing the nation on the international stage. It was a pleasure to join the athletes today at Wales House. Llongyfarchiadau, Team Wales!” they wrote. The appearance quickly caught attention online. Many royal watchers praised how natural and relaxed the family looked throughout the day. For a family that generally keeps its children away from heavy public exposure, this outing offered a rare and candid look into their lives. Even longtime critics like Levin found themselves charmed by the moment, proving that some things manage to cut across royal rivalries entirely.

Imran Khan’s eye improves, 84 meetings held with…

The superintendent of Adiala Jail has submitted a two-page report to the Supreme Court regarding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan and his meetings with family members while in prison. According to the report, Imran Khan and his wife have been meeting regularly every Tuesday under the applicable jail rules. The report states that a total of 84 meetings between the two have taken place so far. The jail superintendent also referred to proceedings related to a contempt of court case, stating that the matter had already been decided by a bench headed by the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court. The report also mentioned an undertaking given by Salman Akram Raja that the media would not be addressed inside the jail premises after meetings. The report claimed that the undertaking was allegedly violated when media interaction took place despite the court’s directions. It also referred to an Islamabad High Court single-bench ruling in the Sher Afzal case, in which Jail Rule 265 was declared unlawful. The jail administration further alleged that statements made during meetings at the prison were used to create public sentiment against the judiciary, foreign policy and law-enforcement institutions. Regarding Imran Khan’s health, the report said that prison medical officers examine him and monitor his food and water intake three times a day. It added that several government doctors have also examined him and that records of these medical assessments are available. The report said Imran Khan has also received treatment from an eye specialist. According to the jail superintendent, one of his eyes has now become almost normal following treatment. A summary of 39 medical examinations conducted by different specialists between November 4, 2023 and August 10, 2026, has also been attached to the report. The jail superintendent requested the Supreme Court to dispose of the case in light of the information provided in the report. Meanwhile, a three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed is scheduled to hear the case tomorrow, August 18.
