LAPD expert testifies on air fresheners found in D4vd’s Tesla

A Los Angeles Police Department criminalist gave testimony this week about evidence found inside singer D4vd’s Tesla.

Chelsea Murillo took the stand on July 22, the second day of the preliminary hearing, and told the court that she discovered eleven air fresheners scattered throughout the vehicle. Most of them were found in the center console, the rear seats, and the frunk.

Murillo said she also noticed air fresheners tucked into the rear door pockets. Beyond that, she reported finding insects and dead flies in the vehicle’s front storage compartment.

During her testimony, prosecutors presented photos as evidence. One image showed the air fresheners recovered from the car and the other displayed a mass of fly larvae found in the area where the body had reportedly been hidden.

Murillo described a strong smell coming from inside the vehicle. She testified that the odor matched what she recognized as the smell of a decomposing body.

The forensic inspection took place on September 9, 2025, one day after the remains were first discovered.

The case centers on the death of a 14-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez, D4vd is accused of killing her in 2025.

Prosecutors allege the teen had threatened to expose details about a sexual relationship with the singer. According to reports, Celeste was just 13 years old when the relationship reportedly began.

The preliminary hearing is expected to continue as more evidence and testimony are presented. Investigators have focused heavily on forensic details tied to the vehicle, given its central role in the case.

Court proceedings so far have relied on physical evidence, including scent-based observations and biological findings inside the car. The presence of insects and decomposition-related signs has become a key point in establishing the timeline of events.

D4vd has not been convicted, and the legal process remains ongoing. The hearing will help determine whether the case moves forward to trial.

As details continue to emerge, the case has drawn significant public attention, given the singer’s public profile and the serious nature of the allegations involved.

Aurangzeb said the political choices made in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad reflected the direction of the election campaign. She suggested that the response from voters in both areas had strengthened the PML-N’s position. She further said August 2 would be an important day for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to her, voters would use the lion symbol to formally announce their decision through the ballot. Aurangzeb urged Kashmiris to vote for the PML-N and support its leadership. She presented the party as a force for development and progress in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The statement comes amid the ongoing electoral activity in the region.     Two terrorists killed in Balochistan operation

    Security forces have killed two terrorists and wounded three others during an intelligence-based operation in Killi Zaik, Balochistan, according to security sources. The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of suspected terrorists in the area. Security personnel moved in on the reported hideout and conducted a targeted operation. Two terrorists were killed during the operation, while three others sustained injuries. Security forces also recovered ammunition, hand grenades and materials believed to have been used for preparing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Officials said security operations against militant groups in Balochistan are continuing as part of ongoing efforts to prevent terrorist attacks and dismantle militant networks operating in the province. The latest operation comes amid an increase in security activity across Balochistan. In recent days, security forces have conducted several intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province. On Sunday, seven terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Lajay area of Kharan. The previous day, 10 terrorists were killed and several others were injured during an operation in the Shor Pard area of Khuzdar district. Earlier, 18 terrorists were reported killed in operations in Surab district. Eight of them were killed after an explosive device detonated prematurely, according to security officials. Security forces have also carried out operations in Panjgur, where five terrorists, including a key militant commander, were killed in the Sarkini and Chedgi areas. The intensified security operations come as Balochistan continues to face serious security challenges. The province has witnessed a rise in militant activity and casualties in recent months. A recent security assessment by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies showed a sharp deterioration in the security situation in Balochistan during July. According to the assessment, deaths linked to violence in the province increased from 109 in June to 372 in July. The number of security personnel killed also rose significantly, from six in June to 62 in July. The report further recorded an increase in militant deaths, with 238 terrorists reportedly killed in July compared with 75 in June. Civilian deaths also rose from 28 to 54 during the same period.

The matter came under discussion during a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) Chairperson Dr Sohail Munir on Thursday. The meeting focused on digital finance, technology-driven economic activity and measures aimed at making financial services more accessible and efficient. According to the Finance Division, the participants reviewed the emerging role of digital assets and tokenisation, particularly their possible application in real estate and other investment-related assets. The discussion also stressed the need for an appropriate regulatory and institutional framework to ensure that such technologies are adopted in a responsible and sustainable manner. Tokenisation generally involves representing ownership or economic rights in an asset through digital tokens. The approach has attracted growing international attention because it can potentially make certain investment opportunities easier to access, improve transaction efficiency and broaden participation in financial markets. The finance minister stressed that Pakistan’s regulatory and institutional arrangements must keep pace with rapid developments in digital technology and new business models. He emphasised that emerging technologies should be supported by clear rules and mechanisms that provide certainty to businesses, investors and financial institutions. The meeting also examined the need to create an enabling environment for electronic transactions and encourage the wider adoption of digital processes across trade and financial activities. Aurangzeb highlighted the importance of using technology to reduce procedural barriers and improve access to finance. In this regard, the participants discussed simplifying customer onboarding procedures, strengthening mechanisms for sharing financial data and improving interoperability among different financial systems. Greater connectivity between banks and capital markets was also identified as an important area for development. The participants considered how digital platforms and simplified account-opening procedures could encourage more people to participate in the capital market and gain access to a broader range of investment opportunities.   The finance minister also called for stronger integration of banking and capital-market systems, noting that better-connected digital infrastructure could help improve financial inclusion while making investment processes more convenient and efficient. Another key area discussed during the meeting was the use and interoperability of data across government institutions. Aurangzeb noted that better integration of government data could improve the quality and speed of policymaking, planning and decision-making. The meeting also considered the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies in strengthening government systems and improving the delivery of public and financial services. The participants reviewed opportunities to enhance Pakistan’s digital infrastructure so that government departments, financial institutions and businesses can operate through more efficient and interconnected systems. Aurangzeb appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by the Pakistan Digital Authority and stressed the need to prioritise practical projects capable of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, financial access and digital capacity. He further emphasised continued coordination among government institutions, regulators, financial-sector stakeholders and technology organisations to ensure that digital initiatives translate into tangible economic benefits. The discussions form part of wider efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s digital economy by modernising financial processes, expanding technology-based services and creating an environment in which emerging financial technologies can develop within an appropriate regulatory framework. With digital assets, tokenisation, artificial intelligence and data-driven financial services developing rapidly worldwide, Pakistan’s efforts to establish suitable frameworks could play an important role in determining how effectively the country participates in the next phase of digital financial development.

    The Cyberspace Administration of China has released a draft law aimed at curbing cyberbullying, specifically addressing artificial intelligence-enabled harassment, deepfakes, and automated online abuse across the country’s digital platforms. The proposed legislation, which is open for public consultation until late August, introduces strict identity verification requirements for internet users before they can post content or access messaging services. Additionally, the measures place direct legal and operational responsibility on technology firms and artificial intelligence service providers, requiring them to actively trace, moderate, and remove harmful synthetic content or face severe administrative penalties, including fines reaching up to ten million yuan, platform suspensions, or license revocations. Under the proposed legal framework, judicial and law enforcement authorities will enforce criminal liability for individuals and entities using automated tools, coordinated troll networks, or synthetic media to conduct doxxing, defamation, or targeted harassment campaigns. The scope of the law extends to overseas organisations targeting individuals within China, whilst also mandating compulsory anti-cyberbullying education across schools and educational institutions. By targeting AI-driven psychological harm and emotional manipulation, regulators aim to establish robust emergency intervention mechanisms to protect minors and vulnerable demographics from emerging forms of digital harassment.

    PMDC issues advisory for Afghan medical students

    The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued an advisory for Pakistani students pursuing or planning to pursue medical and dental education in Afghanistan, warning that graduates from Afghan institutions will not be eligible to practise medicine in Pakistan. According to the advisory, medical and dental graduates from Afghanistan will not be able to obtain registration with the PMDC, making them ineligible to work as licensed healthcare professionals in the country. The council stated that medical institutions in Afghanistan are not included in the recognised list of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). As a result, graduates from these institutions will also be barred from appearing in Pakistan’s National Registration Examination (NRE), a mandatory requirement for obtaining a medical licence. PMDC advised Pakistani students to carefully verify whether a foreign medical institution is recognised by the ECFMG before seeking admission. The council stressed that enrolling in an unrecognised institution could prevent graduates from securing professional registration and practising medicine in Pakistan. The advisory aims to help students make informed decisions about pursuing medical education abroad and to avoid academic and professional complications after graduation. PMDC urged aspiring medical students to ensure that any foreign institution they choose meets internationally recognised accreditation standards before finalising their admissions.
