Markle’s birthday carries an additional historical connection within the royal family. She shares her birthday with Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the late great-grandmother of Prince Harry, who was born on August 4, 1900.

Prince Harry previously reflected on this shared birthday in his 2023 memoir Spare. He recalled discovering the coincidence during a visit with his father, King Charles, at Balmoral in Scotland. According to Harry, the revelation strengthened the already warm relationship between Meghan and his father.

Harry wrote that the family was enjoying pre-dinner drinks while music from legendary entertainer Fred Astaire played in the background when it emerged that Meghan shared the same birthday as King Charles’ beloved grandmother, affectionately known within the family as “Gan-Gan.”

Under the proposed system, pilgrims seeking to perform Hajj through the private scheme will be able to access the relevant services through the official digital platform, while the ministry will maintain direct oversight of the process. The decision marks a significant change from the existing arrangement, under which private Hajj operators play a central role in booking and managing pilgrims. The ministry is expected to announce further details regarding registration, booking procedures, packages, payments and the role of private operators as preparations for Hajj 2027 progress.

He paid tribute to the leaders who struggled for the creation of Pakistan and those who sacrificed their lives for the country. According to him, national development requires collective responsibility, discipline and a continued commitment to the country’s future. The minister also highlighted the role of young people in national development. He said the younger generation should follow the ideals of Allama Iqbal and contribute towards making Pakistan more self-reliant and progressive. The provincial government has introduced a digital monitoring mechanism to improve transparency in the plantation campaign. The Ehsaas Shajarkari Web Portal will be used to identify suitable plantation locations through GPS technology. The portal will also help authorities monitor plantation activities and maintain a consolidated record of the saplings planted during the campaign. Officials will be able to track plantation sites and assess progress through the digital system. Shafi Jan said the initiative was being undertaken under the direction of K-P Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. He expressed confidence that the province would achieve its target and establish a significant plantation milestone on Independence Day.
