Millie Bobby Brown has paid an emotional tribute to her Godzilla vs. Kong co-star Kaylee Hottle following the young actress’s tragic death at the age of 18.

The heartbreaking news has left fans and colleagues in shock, with several members of the film’s cast remembering Hottle for her talent, kindness and inspiring presence on screen.

Brown shared her grief through an emotional message on her Instagram Stories, expressing how deeply the loss had affected her.

“I’m so devastated to hear this. You will be deeply missed, Kaylee,” the Enola Holmes star wrote alongside a photo of Hottle from one of their scenes in Godzilla vs. Kong.

Actress Rebecca Hall, who played Dr. Ilene Andrews in the MonsterVerse films, also honoured the late actress with a touching tribute.

“Devastated to hear this news. My heart goes out to your family. You will be missed, Kaylee,” Hall wrote, remembering the young performer who shared several memorable moments with her on screen.

According to multiple reports, Kaylee Hottle died in a single-vehicle car accident in Ijamsville, Maryland, on July 21, 2026. She was just 18 years old.

Born into a deaf family and a native user of American Sign Language (ASL), Hottle quickly became an inspiration for many after making her acting debut in the 2021 blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong.

She portrayed Jia, a deaf orphan from the Iwi tribe who formed a unique and emotional bond with Kong. Her heartfelt performance was widely praised for bringing warmth and authenticity to the film, making Jia one of the franchise’s most beloved new characters.

Hottle later returned to reprise the role in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The sequel further explored Jia’s relationship with her adoptive mother, Dr. Ilene Andrews, while also delving deeper into her connection to the ancient Iwi civilisation.

Her performance earned admiration from audiences around the world, with many praising the representation she brought to the big screen.

Brown appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong as Madison Russell, reprising the role she first played in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Although Madison and Jia followed different storylines, both characters contributed significantly to the MonsterVerse narrative.

The franchise is set to continue with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, which is scheduled for release in March 2027. The upcoming film will mark the first installment in the series without Hottle, making it an especially emotional chapter for fans who admired her work.

Following news of her passing, tributes from fans across social media poured in, celebrating Hottle’s remarkable talent, bright future and lasting impact despite her young age.

Though her acting career was only beginning, Kaylee Hottle’s memorable performances and inspiring journey helped break barriers for deaf representation in Hollywood. Her legacy will continue to live on through the characters she brought to life and the countless people she inspired with her courage, talent and determination.

Trump aide impersonator texts UK PM, sparking security scare

A security mystery has emerged after an individual posing as White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles reportedly exchanged text messages with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The communications have raised concerns in both Britain and the United States. Officials are examining how the impersonator was able to establish contact with the British prime minister. According to reports, Burnham received a limited number of messages from the individual while he was campaigning for office. The communication reportedly continued for a short period after he became prime minister. Sources familiar with the matter said the messages were ultimately considered to be of no significant consequence. However, the incident triggered concerns because the impersonator claimed to represent a senior White House official. The matter was serious enough for the British embassy in Washington to raise the issue directly with the White House. British officials initially considered the possibility that the real Susie Wiles’ phone, contact information or communications may have been compromised. Authorities therefore examined whether the incident involved a wider security breach. The identity of the person behind the impersonation remains unclear. The incident has highlighted the growing risks posed by sophisticated impersonation scams. High-profile political figures are increasingly being targeted by individuals who attempt to gain their trust by pretending to be senior officials or influential public figures. Similar incidents have previously involved prominent American politicians and business leaders. In such cases, scammers have used false identities and digital communications to establish contact with their targets. The latest case has attracted particular attention because of the positions held by the people involved. Wiles is a senior figure within the White House, while Burnham is the UK prime minister. Despite the security concerns, there is currently no indication that sensitive information was exchanged during the messages. Sources described the content of the communications as having no significant impact. Downing Street has declined to discuss the specific details of the incident. British officials have maintained that national security matters are not normally discussed publicly. The White House has also declined to comment on the reported communications or the identity of the impersonator. The incident nevertheless raises questions about how the individual obtained access to Burnham and successfully presented themselves as a senior White House official. Officials are expected to examine the communication trail and other available evidence to determine how the impersonation occurred. The case also highlights the challenges faced by governments in verifying digital identities. Text messages and other online communications can make it easier for individuals to impersonate senior officials, particularly when they use convincing names, photographs or other identifying details. For now, the mystery surrounding the impersonator’s identity remains unresolved. Authorities have not publicly identified the person responsible or confirmed whether the incident was part of a broader campaign.

Leadership crisis at EPZs threatens Pakistan’s industrial future

Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Industries and Production today exposed alarming governance lapses and structural vulnerabilities in Pakistan’s industrial sector, raising serious questions over the future of Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and the proposed Automotive & Auto Parts Manufacturing Policy 2026–31. The session, chaired by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, revealed that the Export Processing Zones Authority has been operating without a permanent chairman for an extended period, leaving critical decisions in limbo. Committee members expressed deep concern that this leadership vacuum is undermining investor confidence and delaying strategic initiatives crucial for industrial growth. Mandviwalla warned that the prolonged absence of leadership threatens compliance with Pakistan’s commitments under the IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF), particularly the phase-out of incentives and restrictions on EPZ sales to the domestic market. Industry representatives attending the committee highlighted growing discontent over the draft Auto Policy 2026–31. While the policy aims to boost New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), increase domestic value addition, and expand exports, local manufacturers face crippling challenges. High tariffs on raw materials, steep duties, and overall cost disadvantages were flagged as severe obstacles that could prevent the policy’s objectives from materializing. “The government’s plan is ambitious, but without resolving operational bottlenecks, domestic producers will be left behind while international competitors gain an advantage,” said a senior industry official. The committee directed all stakeholders to submit formal grievances and scheduled a follow-up joint session with the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industries and Production to ensure these issues are addressed before the next IMF review. Officials confirmed that EPZ incentives and operational rules require immediate reform, warning that failure to act decisively could deter foreign and domestic investment, compromise manufacturing growth, and slow Pakistan’s economic recovery. The committee stressed that rectifying these issues is critical not only for industrial expansion but also for maintaining Pakistan’s international credibility in trade agreements and IMF compliance.

Nicole Kidman opens up on facing an ‘unknown’ future post-divorce

Nicole Kidman is opening up about the emotional aftermath of her divorce from Keith Urban. She admitted the split has left her feeling both fearful and vulnerable, while also teaching her something valuable. During a new British Vogue cover interview published Thursday, August 13, the 59-year-old reflected on choosing to prioritise her feelings, both personally and professionally. She said her goal isn’t to let logic completely take over her decisions. Kidman explained that she never expected this outcome and had a very different picture of how her life would unfold. She acknowledged simply having to accept where things stand now instead. She said people naturally build plans and expectations for the future, only for life to take a different turn. According to Kidman, adjusting and adapting to that shift becomes necessary once it happens. She was candid about not knowing what lies ahead for her at this point. Kidman described her future as completely unknown right now, admitting that uncertainty comes with real emotional weight. Looking back, the actress admitted she’d once felt very fearful and deeply vulnerable during parts of this process. She described that vulnerability as something that left her feeling exposed. Kidman explained that she was left with essentially two choices when facing that fear. She said she could either avoid confronting it entirely or move forward carrying a strong sense of hope instead. She appears to have chosen the latter, framing her outlook with cautious optimism despite the uncertainty. Her comments offer a rare, personal glimpse into how she’s processing this major life change. Kidman and Urban married in June 2006 in Sydney and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. The couple reportedly separated in late 2025 before finalising their divorce in January 2026, citing irreconcilable differences after 19 years together. Since the split, Kidman has remained largely private about the details, offering only limited public reflections. This latest interview marks one of her most candid discussions yet about navigating life after the marriage’s end.

RLNG prices jump up to 34.6% amid supply disruptio…

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the prices of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) by up to 34.6% for July 2026, as continued disruptions in LNG supplies from Qatar forced Pakistan to rely on expensive spot market imports. According to an official notification, consumers of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will face the largest increase. The RLNG price for SSGC consumers has been fixed at $25.087 per MMBtu, following an increase of $6.4512 per MMBtu, representing a 34.6% rise. Consumers of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will also pay higher rates. The regulator fixed the RLNG price at $25.8388 per MMBtu, an increase of $6.316 per MMBtu, or 32.35%, compared with the previous month. Officials said the latest increase was mainly driven by a sharp decline in LNG imports during July. Pakistan received only five LNG cargoes throughout the month, making it the third-lowest monthly import volume since the country started importing LNG. The reduced supply forced the country to purchase all available LNG cargoes from the international spot market, where prices are generally much higher and more volatile than long-term contractual rates. Energy officials said state-owned Pakistan LNG Limited arranged all five cargoes from the spot market. Meanwhile, Pakistan did not receive any LNG shipments under its long-term agreements with Qatar during the month. The interruption in Qatari supplies has continued since damage to energy infrastructure earlier this year, affecting LNG exports to several countries in Asia and Europe, including Pakistan. Experts said the absence of lower-cost LNG from long-term contracts has significantly increased Pakistan’s import bill and placed additional pressure on the country’s energy sector. Since the regional conflict in the Middle East began earlier this year, RLNG prices in Pakistan have risen by more than 144%, making energy substantially more expensive for industries, businesses and other consumers.

Cesar Gastelum killed while livestreaming in Mexico

Mexican social media influencer Cesar Gastelum was shot and killed on Tuesday while livestreaming with friends outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacan, authorities confirmed. Gastelum, who had nearly 600,000 followers on TikTok, was widely recognized for his comedy content and interactive livestreams. His videos had earned him a loyal fan base across Mexico, making news of his death a shock to followers and fellow creators. According to officials, Gastelum was broadcasting live outside the restaurant when two individuals riding a motorcycle approached the group. Both suspects were reportedly wearing helmets, making it difficult to identify them. Footage from the livestream, which later circulated on social media, appeared to capture the terrifying moment when the motorcycle driver allegedly opened fire directly at Gastelum. The stream ended abruptly following the shooting, leaving viewers stunned. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Gastelum succumbed to his injuries. Local authorities confirmed his death and launched an extensive security operation to locate those responsible. Investigators have not yet announced any arrests, and the motive behind the attack remains under investigation. The fatal shooting occurred in Culiacan, the capital of the northern Mexican state of Sinaloa, a city that has experienced years of violence linked to organized crime. Authorities have repeatedly increased security efforts in the region as rival criminal groups continue to battle for influence and territorial control, contributing to ongoing instability. Gastelum’s death has renewed concerns over the safety of public figures and content creators in Mexico, particularly those who frequently livestream their daily activities and disclose their locations in real time. Social media users expressed grief over the incident, with many paying tribute to the influencer and calling for justice. The tragedy also draws comparisons to the killing of Mexican beauty influencer Valeria Márquez, who was shot during a TikTok livestream in May 2025 while working at a beauty salon in Zapopan, Jalisco. Márquez was 23 years old at the time of her death, and prosecutors handled the investigation under Mexico’s femicide protocols. In a later development, Mexican authorities announced the arrest of Ramon Angel Alvarez Ayala, also known as “El R-1,” in the state of Jalisco. Officials identified him as the alleged leader of a criminal group associated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). Authorities have accused Alvarez Ayala of ordering and financing the killing of Valeria Márquez. He has also been linked to the November 2025 murder of Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo, according to investigators. As the investigation into Cesar Gastelum’s killing continues, authorities are working to determine whether the attack was connected to organized crime or stemmed from another motive. His death has once again highlighted the dangers posed by violence in parts of Mexico and the growing risks faced by online personalities whose lives are increasingly shared with the public in real time.
