Pakistan wins historic double gold at Ju-Jitsu Worlds

Pakistan achieved a historic milestone at the 2026 World Ju-Jitsu Championship by winning two gold medals and one bronze medal, marking one of the country’s finest performances in the international competition.

The championship, being held at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, has attracted more than 1,500 athletes from across the world. Competitors are taking part in Under-16, Under-18, Under-21, adult and Masters categories, with the event continuing until August 9.

Pakistan’s biggest success came through former Asian champions Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar, who secured gold medals in both the Masters Duo and Duo Show events. Their victories created history as it was Pakistan’s first-ever participation in the Masters category at the World Ju-Jitsu Championship.

The pair produced outstanding performances throughout the competition, demonstrating exceptional coordination, technical excellence and consistency to finish at the top of both events.

Pakistan added another medal to its tally when young athletes Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar captured the bronze medal in the Under-21 Duo category. The duo impressed judges with their teamwork, precision and discipline during the competition.

Yousaf and Umar are also scheduled to compete in the Under-21 Duo Show event, where they will look to add another medal for Pakistan before the championship concludes.

Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation Chairman Khalil Ahmed Khan congratulated the athletes on their remarkable achievements and described the victories as a proud moment for the country. He said the success would inspire young athletes to pursue excellence in the sport.

Secretary General Tariq Ali also praised the national team, saying the results reflected years of dedication, hard work and continuous improvement by Pakistan’s ju-jitsu athletes on the international stage.

The federation congratulated Abu Huraira, Muhammad Ammar, Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar for their outstanding performances and expressed confidence that the national team would continue to achieve success in the remaining events of the championship.

When they finally encounter even a fragment of affection from a partner, however temporary or conditional it may be, they hold on to it with everything they have because they have never known anything different. “Women are deprived of parental love and when they get even a glimpse of love, they lie down and take everything,” she said. “They take even a temporary love as they are extremely insecure.” The image is striking and uncomfortably accurate for anyone who has watched a woman accept treatment that from the outside looks impossible to justify. Qudsia did not offer this observation from a distance. She acknowledged that she herself had carried insecurities of her own, and that she had done the work to understand and overcome them. It was a moment of personal honesty that gave her words additional weight. Together, their observations form a connected picture of how the same system of unequal parenting produces both the men who expect everything and the women who accept anything. The drama they are appearing in explores exactly this territory on screen. According to a report by The Washington Post, officials from Arab, European and US circles said governments in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain were growing increasingly concerned about the Trump administration’s approach to the conflict. The report said Gulf allies were particularly worried that the Trump administration had failed to advance the diplomatic efforts needed to achieve a peaceful settlement with Iran. According to the newspaper, some Gulf states have also started discussing whether continuing to host major US military bases on their territory remains in their national interest. Three current US officials and a former American diplomat reportedly told the Washington Post that the debate had intensified after months of war and continued missile and drone attacks by Iran and groups allied with Tehran. The officials said some Gulf countries were questioning how beneficial it was to host large US military installations while also facing potential security risks linked to the conflict. One senior Gulf official was quoted as saying that Trump had started the war while Gulf countries were paying the price. Despite the growing frustration, Gulf states continue to regard Washington as a major security partner and an important supplier of military equipment. The United States maintains major military facilities in Qatar and Bahrain. These bases have long played an important role in Washington’s military presence and security strategy in the region. However, the reported dissatisfaction is prompting some Gulf governments to consider alternative security arrangements. Some countries have also started exploring other options to reduce their dependence on the United States for defence and regional security. The recent mutual defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan has also attracted attention in this context. A senior European official reportedly described the agreement as a signal to Washington. According to the official, the so-called Makkah defence agreement indicates that Gulf countries may no longer want to rely exclusively on the United States for their security. The development reflects growing concerns among some US allies about the consequences of the Iran conflict. While Gulf states continue to maintain close relations with Washington, the war has encouraged discussions about diversifying their security partnerships. The reported shift could have wider implications for US influence in the Gulf. Any reduction in reliance on American military protection could encourage regional countries to strengthen defence cooperation with other partners.

Richards agreed, saying she dislikes when people refuse to admit they have had cosmetic work while allowing others to believe their results are completely natural. She explained that such claims create unrealistic expectations for women and girls who may feel pressured to look the same.  Richards also opened up about her own experience with plastic surgery, revealing that she underwent a facelift after initially considering only a neck lift. Following discussions with a trusted friend and consultation with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei, she decided a full procedure would create a more balanced result. The surgery included a facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, lip lift and fat grafting.  The 55-year-old actress admitted she was terrified before going through with the operation because she has spent decades in the public eye. She knew people would notice the changes, making it impossible to hide the procedure. However, she now describes it as one of the best decisions she has made for herself, saying the goal was never to look like someone else but simply to restore the features she felt had changed with age.  Richards has long been candid about cosmetic enhancements. She previously spoke about getting breast implants at a young age and later needing revision surgery. She said she prefers openness over secrecy because it helps reduce the pressure placed on women to achieve impossible beauty standards without assistance.  Throughout the interview, Richards stressed that every woman should have the freedom to make personal choices about her appearance without fear of judgment. Whether someone decides to age naturally or undergo cosmetic procedures, she believes the decision should be respected. For Richards, the real issue is not plastic surgery itself but the dishonesty surrounding it.
