Pattaya Approves Public Land for Volunteer Police Outposts in the Pratumnak Hill Area
Pattaya, August 3rd, 2026– Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngamphichet chaired a meeting on Monday to consider the use of public land for the construction of two single-storey buildings, to serve as operational bases for the Pattaya City Volunteer Police.
The facilities are intended to support security operations, traffic management, and community surveillance. Attending the meeting were Mr. Buncha Kullawanich, secretary to the mayor; Mr. Wachira Thongdeelert, assistant secretary to the mayor; Mr. Sittichai Atsong, a member of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organisation Council; Mr. Wutthithorn Saengurai, a Pattaya City Council member; and heads of relevant municipal departments.
Police Senior Sergeant Major Anan Natanakit, deputy inspector for crime prevention and suppression at Pattaya City Police Station, presented three proposed sites: the approach road to S.T.R.5 hill, the parking area before the ascent to S.T.R.5, and the Provincial Electricity Authority compound at Khao Thapphraya.
The meeting concluded that the Electricity Authority site at Khao Thapphraya was the most suitable location. Officials instructed Pattaya City Police Station to prepare a formal request for land use, including building plans, details of usable space, and supporting documents, for submission to the Chonburi provincial governor in accordance with legal regulations.
The new outposts will function as support centres for the Pattaya City Volunteer Police, a community network that works closely with Pattaya City Police Station to maintain public safety, assist with traffic control, and monitor incidents in residential areas and key tourist zones, particularly around Phratamnak Hill. They will also serve as coordination hubs for volunteers who receive ongoing training and capacity-building in partnership with the local police and tourism police.
Pattaya City continues to prioritise cooperation between government agencies and the public sector to strengthen security measures, build confidence among residents and visitors, and develop the city as a safe and sustainable tourist destination.
