Pattaya Moves Forward on Homeless Solutions with University and Agency Partners

PATTAYA, Thailand – On July 24th, 2026, Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn chaired a meeting to discuss approaches for addressing the issue of homeless people in the city. The session was held in Meeting Room 131 at Pattaya City Hall.

Assistant Professor Dr. Sakrit Isariyanon, a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Burapha University, and his team presented proposed operational guidelines. Participants included Korn Phattanasin, Assistant Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya City; Ratchanee Worarat, Director of the Chonburi Province Homeless Protection Center; Suthinee Nuchanart, Head of the Chonburi Children’s and Family Shelter; and representatives from related agencies. The group exchanged views and worked to establish joint operational frameworks.

The meeting served as a follow-up discussion after Pattaya City signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Burapha University and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The agreement is to integrate efforts to tackle homelessness by focusing on data collection, problem analysis, and organized planning to deliver concrete and effective results.

Pattaya City continues to pursue multi-sector cooperation to develop a comprehensive support system. Officials stressed improving the quality of life for those affected while maintaining public order and safety, with the goal of sustainably enhancing living standards for residents and the wider community.
