Pattaya Prepares for International Film Festival 2026 Later This Month
PATTAYA, Thailand – On August 7th, 2026, Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngamphichet chaired a preparatory meeting for the Pattaya International Film Festival 2026. Pattaya City executives, the Assistant Secretary to the Mayor, heads of government agencies, and representatives from related organizations attended the meeting at Meeting Room 242, Pattaya City Hall.
Pattaya City is set to host the Pattaya International Film Festival 2026 from August 22nd to the 30th, 2026, under the project to drive the city toward becoming a UNESCO Creative City of Film. The festival is to raise awareness and encourage participation among the public, local communities, youth, partner networks, and others in the film industry, while providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and the development of concrete film-related activities.
The event seeks to elevate Pattaya’s film activities in line with the criteria and guidelines of UNESCO Creative Cities. It will also promote the city’s image and tourism through film initiatives, creating opportunities and generating international recognition.
During the meeting, participants discussed and prepared various aspects of the event, including its format and concept, public relations efforts, venue decoration and facilities, traffic management, security arrangements, and cleanliness measures. The goal is to ensure integrated work among all sectors so that the festival runs smoothly, efficiently, and delivers maximum benefits to residents and tourists.
The Pattaya International Film Festival 2026 stands as another key activity in advancing Pattaya toward becoming a Creative City of Film. It will further develop the city’s creative economy potential while elevating tourism and enhancing Pattaya’s international image.
