PMDC warns doctors over expired medical licences

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued an important warning to doctors whose professional licences have expired.

The council has decided to take action against doctors who fail to renew their licences within the required period.

Under the new decision, doctors will be given six months to complete the renewal process. Licences that are not renewed within this period may be cancelled.

The PMDC has also stressed that doctors involved in clinical practice must have a valid and active licence.

Doctors with expired or inactive licences could face restrictions on their professional practice. The council has advised such doctors to complete the renewal process without delay.

The move is aimed at ensuring that only properly registered and authorised doctors continue to provide medical services.

The PMDC maintains the registration and licensing system for medical and dental practitioners in Pakistan. Keeping licences active is an important requirement for doctors who are practising professionally.

The latest warning is expected to push doctors with expired licences to complete their renewals within the specified six-month period.

Doctors have been advised to remain compliant with the council’s licensing requirements to avoid possible cancellation of their licences and disruption to their clinical practice.

He recalled how reactions shifted dramatically after showing an earlier teaser on a large IMAX screen in 3D. According to Malhotra, viewers who initially criticised certain elements changed their opinions entirely once they experienced it properly. He explained that watching VFX on a mobile phone or through poor internet doesn’t reflect the intended cinematic experience. He said the team has spent years and invested millions of dollars specifically to craft a big-screen spectacle worth the wait. Malhotra expressed confidence that the finished product will address much of the current criticism. “Ramayana” is scheduled to release in theatres on November 8, 2026, with Kapoor starring as Lord Ram. Some US media outlets have also reported shortages of food and other basic supplies aboard the carrier. The situation has prompted US lawmakers to call for an investigation into the reported incidents and the overall conditions aboard the ship. Senators have sought information about the deployment, including the mental health of personnel, crew fatigue, living conditions and the impact of the prolonged mission on operational readiness. The US Navy, however, has rejected claims of a rise in suicide attempts or mental health problems among personnel aboard the carrier. The Navy has maintained that it continues to monitor the wellbeing of sailors and provide appropriate support during the deployment. The USS Abraham Lincoln’s extended mission comes amid continuing US military operations and heightened tensions involving Iran and the wider Middle East.     Dera Ghazi Khan – Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under her farmer-friendly vision, has initiated the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme to promote agricultural development and economic prosperity for cultivators. As part of this initiative, land allotment certificates were distributed among 122 farmers in District Dera Ghazi Khan. The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Niaz Ahmed Mughal. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioners Taimur Usman and Hafiz Umar Saeed, along with officials from the agriculture, revenue, and other relevant departments, a large number of farmers, and prominent figures from the district were present. Addressing the ceremony, the members of the provincial assembly and other speakers said that the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme, launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to make small and medium-scale farmers self-reliant in the agricultural sector. They noted that providing easy access to modern farm machinery, reducing production costs, increasing agricultural output, and promoting advanced farming technologies are all integral components of this initiative. Under the scheme, eligible farmers selected through a transparent ballot process are being provided subsidized agricultural machinery, which will not only boost their income but also foster innovation, mechanisation, and sustainable growth in the farming sector. The special guests, in their addresses, emphasised that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of farmers as a top agenda. They stated that the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme is a key part of these efforts, through which thousands of cultivators will benefit and the agricultural sector will be further strengthened. During the ceremony, land allotment certificates were distributed among the selected 122 farmers, and a firm commitment was expressed that the Punjab government will continue its support for farmers prosperity, agricultural self-sufficiency, and food security. Additionally, a development grant of 50,000 rupees per acre will also be provided for cultivation purposes.
