Producer Shailendra Singh reveals Salman Khan’s unusual habit and hair treatment routine

Indian film producer Shailendra Singh has shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes story about Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, revealing an unusual dining habit and a surprising moment that highlighted the demands of maintaining celebrity status.

Speaking during a recent interview, Singh recalled an incident from several years ago when he visited Salman Khan at his residence. Reflecting on the experience, he described how the meeting unexpectedly gave him a glimpse into the actor’s personal grooming routine and the pressures that come with being one of India’s biggest film stars.

According to Indian media reports, Singh said the episode began after Salman Khan’s longtime manager, Reshma Shetty, mentioned that the actor had been experiencing hair loss. Concerned about the issue, Singh started researching possible treatments and solutions that could help address the problem.

Not long afterward, he had an opportunity to meet Salman Khan for a business discussion at the actor’s home. However, what caught his attention during the visit was something entirely unexpected.

Singh revealed that Salman Khan has a distinctive habit of eating his meals while looking into a mirror.

“We were sitting in the kitchen, and Salman was eating biryani,” Singh recalled. “There is a small dining table in the kitchen with a mirror positioned directly in front of it. Even if you’re sitting beside him, he continues looking into the mirror while talking.”

The producer admitted that he found the habit unusual but soon became even more surprised by what happened next.

As the conversation continued, a man carrying medical equipment entered the room. Without interrupting the discussion, the individual put on gloves and began administering injections into Salman Khan’s scalp.

Despite undergoing the medical procedure, the actor remained calm and continued eating his biryani while carrying on the conversation as though nothing unusual was happening.

“I was naturally curious,” Singh said. “I asked Salman what was going on.”

According to Singh, Salman Khan smiled and responded with a light-hearted explanation.

“Brother, being a star comes with a price,” the actor reportedly said.

The treatment continued while Salman casually finished his meal, leaving Singh impressed by the actor’s ability to balance an uncomfortable cosmetic procedure with an ordinary conversation.

Later, Singh learned that Salman Khan had been receiving Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a widely used non-surgical treatment for hair thinning and hair loss. The procedure involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and injecting the platelet-rich plasma into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles and encourage natural hair growth.

PRP therapy has become increasingly popular among celebrities and public figures seeking to address hair loss without undergoing more invasive surgical procedures. While the treatment may require multiple sessions, it is commonly used as part of a long-term hair restoration strategy.

Singh’s anecdote offers a rare glimpse into the personal routines of one of Bollywood’s most recognizable stars and underscores the effort many actors invest in maintaining their appearance. His story also highlights the often unseen pressures of life in the entertainment industry, where public image remains an important part of an actor’s career.

Although Salman Khan has never publicly discussed the incident in detail, the producer’s account has sparked interest among fans, offering a candid look at the lengths celebrities sometimes go to in order to preserve their on-screen image while continuing with their everyday lives.

What led Perez Hilton to contact Britney Spears an…

Perez Hilton reportedly reached out to several celebrities to make amends for his past treatment of them before his recent mental health crisis. Among those he contacted were Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian, two stars who had been the subject of his celebrity coverage during his years as one of Hollywood’s most controversial gossip bloggers. The revelations came from an interview with Sean Hannity that was recorded on July 14 and released on August 6, just days after Hilton was hospitalized following a distressing TikTok livestream. Hilton discussed his efforts to repair relationships and take responsibility for his past behavior. (Page Six) Hilton wanted to make amends During the interview, Hilton explained that he had privately contacted a number of people he believed he had wronged. His outreach to Spears and Kardashian was part of what he described as a personal effort to confront his past. Hilton said he had reached out to Spears through an intermediary. While he indicated that Spears did not directly respond to him, he appeared to accept that she was not obligated to do so. His experience with Khloé Kardashian was different. Hilton said he contacted Kardashian privately and received a kind response from her. He also acknowledged that some people he contacted did not respond, adding that he understood and respected their decision. (Page Six) A change in Hilton’s approach The outreach appears to be connected to Hilton’s broader reflection on his career. During the interview, he acknowledged that his earlier approach to celebrity coverage could be cruel and invasive. Hilton became famous for mocking celebrities’ appearances, commenting on their private lives and pushing boundaries in his coverage. In recent years, however, he has spoken more openly about changing his approach. He told Hannity that he realized he could still be entertaining without being unnecessarily harsh. He also discussed the idea of “counsel culture,” a concept associated with encouraging people to learn from their mistakes rather than permanently defining them by those mistakes. (Page Six) Hilton’s hospitalization On August 4, Hilton was hospitalized in Miami after authorities responded to reports concerning a serious mental health crisis during a TikTok livestream. His family later confirmed that he was receiving medical care and was able to communicate. They asked the public to respect his privacy while he recovers. (People.com) The timing of Hilton’s reconciliation efforts has drawn attention because they came shortly before the incident. However, there is no confirmed evidence that his conversations with Spears or Kardashian caused or directly influenced what happened. Instead, his comments suggest that Hilton had already been reflecting on his past and attempting to repair relationships. His outreach to former targets shows a public figure confronting the consequences of his earlier work while trying to move forward in a different direction. For now, Hilton’s family says the focus remains on his recovery and well-being.

US Embassy unveils Liberty Bell in Islamabad

The United States Embassy in Islamabad has launched a unique cultural exhibition in the Pakistani capital, bringing together art, history and the shared values of two nations as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. The “Let Freedom Ring” Liberty Bell display was inaugurated on Thursday, July 23, at Lok Virsa Museum in a ceremony attended by US Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus and Pakistan’s Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi. The display will run until July 27 at two of Islamabad’s most prominent cultural institutions, Lok Virsa Museum and the Pakistan Monument Museum, with members of the public invited to visit both venues throughout the five-day exhibition period. At the heart of the exhibition are 16 uniquely designed bells, each created by a Pakistani artist from across the country and each representing a distinct perspective on the concept of freedom. The artists were invited to respond to a single central question: what does freedom mean to me? The resulting collection is as diverse as the country it comes from, with each bell offering a visual and cultural interpretation of a value that sits at the core of both American history and human aspiration. The initiative was organised by the US Mission to Pakistan’s Public Diplomacy Section through its Lincoln Corners network, in collaboration with the 16 Pakistani artists whose work forms the exhibition. The collaborative nature of the project is itself a reflection of the diplomatic spirit behind it, one country celebrating its founding ideals by inviting another to contribute its own creative voice to the conversation. Speaking at the inauguration, Halus drew a direct line between the values the exhibition represents and the relationship between the two countries. “Looking at this bell, I am reminded of something that Pakistan and the US share deeply, a belief in the power of expression, of art, and of the freedom to imagine a better world,” he said. “Lok Virsa has spent decades preserving that spirit in Pakistan. Today, we are proud to add America’s own story of freedom to this special place.” Pakistan’s cultural minister welcomed the exhibition as a reflection of the longstanding ties between the two nations, highlighting the role that cultural exchange plays in strengthening bilateral relations beyond the formal channels of diplomacy. The “Let Freedom Ring” campaign forms part of the US Mission Pakistan’s year-long “Freedom 250” programme, a global initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through events centred on the themes of freedom, innovation and excellence. The Islamabad exhibition is one of many such events being held around the world as part of this broader commemorative effort.

Johnson & Johnson agrees $5.5bn talc cancer settlement

NEW YORK: Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay an estimated $5.5 billion to settle tens of thousands of lawsuits alleging that its talc-based baby powder and other products caused ovarian cancer. The proposed settlement covers around 76,000 claims. The cases include lawsuits pending in federal and state courts across the United States. The agreement could bring an end to a legal battle that has continued for about a decade. However, it will only become final if 95 per cent of eligible ovarian cancer claimants accept the deal. Lawyers representing the plaintiffs welcomed the settlement. They described it as a reasonable outcome after years of legal proceedings. Johnson & Johnson has continued to deny that its talc products caused cancer. The company has also rejected claims that its products contained asbestos. The company said it agreed to the settlement to bring the long-running dispute to an end. Its litigation chief maintained that the claims lacked merit. Under the proposed agreement, Johnson & Johnson expects to pay about $3 billion in 2027. Additional payments will follow in 2028. The final cost could be higher. Lawyers involved in the negotiations said the total amount could eventually reach $7 billion or more, depending on the number of claimants who participate. The settlement does not place a fixed ceiling on the company’s total payments. Individual qualifying claims will receive amounts based on specific criteria. The agreement follows several important courtroom victories for Johnson & Johnson. The company has won a number of individual trials. It has also successfully challenged some of the experts used by plaintiffs to support their claims. A federal judge recently raised questions about whether individual plaintiffs could establish that talc specifically caused their ovarian cancer. Johnson & Johnson has maintained for years that its talc products were safe. The company stopped selling talc-based baby powder in the United States in 2020. It replaced the product with a cornstarch-based version. The legal dispute also involved a controversial bankruptcy strategy. In 2021, Johnson & Johnson moved talc liabilities to a subsidiary that sought bankruptcy protection. The strategy, commonly known as the “Texas two-step”, was intended to resolve the lawsuits through bankruptcy proceedings. The attempts ultimately failed after courts dismissed the bankruptcy cases. Before those efforts, Johnson & Johnson had experienced mixed results in talc trials. In one major case, a jury awarded billions of dollars to 22 women who alleged that the company’s baby powder contributed to their ovarian cancer. Other cases ended in victories for the company, while some awards were later reduced on appeal. The new settlement differs from the earlier bankruptcy proposals. It applies only to existing claims. It does not cover potential future lawsuits. The agreement is also expected to provide faster payments to eligible claimants. Lawyers involved in the deal said payments could be completed within about 18 months. The settlement now faces an important approval test. At least 95 per cent of ovarian cancer claimants must agree to the deal before it can become final. If approved, the agreement would significantly reduce one of Johnson & Johnson’s longest-running legal challenges and provide compensation to thousands of people involved in the litigation.
