Producer Shailendra Singh reveals Salman Khan’s unusual habit and hair treatment routine

Indian film producer Shailendra Singh has shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes story about Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, revealing an unusual dining habit and a surprising moment that highlighted the demands of maintaining celebrity status.

Speaking during a recent interview, Singh recalled an incident from several years ago when he visited Salman Khan at his residence. Reflecting on the experience, he described how the meeting unexpectedly gave him a glimpse into the actor’s personal grooming routine and the pressures that come with being one of India’s biggest film stars.

According to Indian media reports, Singh said the episode began after Salman Khan’s longtime manager, Reshma Shetty, mentioned that the actor had been experiencing hair loss. Concerned about the issue, Singh started researching possible treatments and solutions that could help address the problem.

Not long afterward, he had an opportunity to meet Salman Khan for a business discussion at the actor’s home. However, what caught his attention during the visit was something entirely unexpected.

Singh revealed that Salman Khan has a distinctive habit of eating his meals while looking into a mirror.

“We were sitting in the kitchen, and Salman was eating biryani,” Singh recalled. “There is a small dining table in the kitchen with a mirror positioned directly in front of it. Even if you’re sitting beside him, he continues looking into the mirror while talking.”

The producer admitted that he found the habit unusual but soon became even more surprised by what happened next.

As the conversation continued, a man carrying medical equipment entered the room. Without interrupting the discussion, the individual put on gloves and began administering injections into Salman Khan’s scalp.

Despite undergoing the medical procedure, the actor remained calm and continued eating his biryani while carrying on the conversation as though nothing unusual was happening.

“I was naturally curious,” Singh said. “I asked Salman what was going on.”

According to Singh, Salman Khan smiled and responded with a light-hearted explanation.

“Brother, being a star comes with a price,” the actor reportedly said.

The treatment continued while Salman casually finished his meal, leaving Singh impressed by the actor’s ability to balance an uncomfortable cosmetic procedure with an ordinary conversation.

Later, Singh learned that Salman Khan had been receiving Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a widely used non-surgical treatment for hair thinning and hair loss. The procedure involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and injecting the platelet-rich plasma into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles and encourage natural hair growth.

PRP therapy has become increasingly popular among celebrities and public figures seeking to address hair loss without undergoing more invasive surgical procedures. While the treatment may require multiple sessions, it is commonly used as part of a long-term hair restoration strategy.

Singh’s anecdote offers a rare glimpse into the personal routines of one of Bollywood’s most recognizable stars and underscores the effort many actors invest in maintaining their appearance. His story also highlights the often unseen pressures of life in the entertainment industry, where public image remains an important part of an actor’s career.

Although Salman Khan has never publicly discussed the incident in detail, the producer’s account has sparked interest among fans, offering a candid look at the lengths celebrities sometimes go to in order to preserve their on-screen image while continuing with their everyday lives.

BBC documentary renews scrutiny of Jared Leto

A new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, has renewed public scrutiny of Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto after multiple women alleged they were teenagers when they first encountered him. Leto has strongly denied all allegations, while the documentary has also reignited debate over Hollywood’s handling of long-standing rumours involving powerful figures. The documentary examines allegations made by several women regarding their interactions with Leto. Although the claims have attracted widespread attention, the actor has categorically rejected every accusation made against him. In a statement, Leto said: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” The documentary has prompted broader discussions beyond the allegations themselves, with many industry insiders questioning whether Hollywood has done enough to address persistent rumours before they become major public scandals. One talent agent interviewed in connection with the documentary criticised the industry’s culture of silence, saying: “Hollywood doesn’t have an information problem. It has a courage problem. Everybody hears the whispers. Almost nobody wants to be the first person to ask the hard question.” According to the documentary, reports and entertainment industry gossip regarding Leto’s interactions with younger women have circulated for years, including a 2005 Page Six report that cited anonymous allegations. However, none of those reports established criminal wrongdoing. Critics interviewed in the documentary argue that while allegations alone should not be treated as proof of misconduct, repeated concerns should have encouraged greater scrutiny instead of being dismissed. A veteran Hollywood manager commented: “Young actresses talk to each other. Hair and makeup artists talk. Assistants talk. Drivers talk. The idea that nobody knew anything is almost never true.” The documentary also draws comparisons with lessons learned during the #MeToo movement, suggesting that repeated allegations deserve careful attention even when they have not been legally proven. It argues that the entertainment industry should be willing to investigate concerns earlier rather than waiting until they receive widespread media coverage. A longtime entertainment executive featured in the programme summarised the broader issue by saying: “The real test of Hollywood isn’t how it reacts after a documentary airs. It’s what it does with the whispers years before anyone picks up a camera.” The documentary has therefore shifted part of the conversation away from Leto himself and towards the wider culture within the entertainment industry. Many observers believe the central question is whether Hollywood has truly changed since the #MeToo movement or whether concerns continue to be ignored until they become impossible to overlook. While Leto continues to deny all allegations and no criminal wrongdoing has been established in relation to the claims discussed in the documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret has once again placed the spotlight on accountability within the entertainment industry. For many, the debate now extends beyond one celebrity to whether Hollywood is willing to confront troubling rumours before they evolve into public controversies.

Six Pakistani dramas that gave women powerful stories

Pakistani television has produced many memorable female characters. Some of them stood out because they were not written simply as victims waiting to be rescued. Over the decades, several dramas showed women working, making difficult choices, facing social pressures and rebuilding their lives. These characters were ambitious, emotional and flawed. Most importantly, they were allowed to shape their own stories. Here are six dramas that created some of Pakistani television’s most memorable female leads. Ankahi (1982) Written by Haseena Moin, Ankahi introduced audiences to Sana Murad, played by Shehnaz Sheikh. Sana is confident, outspoken and determined. After her father’s death creates financial problems for the family, she decides to take responsibility. Despite having limited qualifications, she manages to secure a job after an unexpected meeting with a company chairman. Her journey through professional life becomes a mix of humour, challenges and personal growth. Sana’s character was significant because she was not defined by marriage or romance. She wanted to work and create a future for herself. Tanhaiyaan (1985) Haseena Moin’s Tanhaiyaan, directed by Shahzad Khalil, focused on two sisters who suddenly lose their parents and their family home. Played by Marina Khan and Shehnaz Sheikh, the sisters are forced to rebuild their lives independently. The drama presented women earning their own income without treating their decision to work as something unusual. Their struggles were balanced with friendship, humour and everyday challenges. That combination helped the drama remain popular long after its original broadcast. Maat (2011) Umera Ahmad’s Maat followed two sisters whose different priorities eventually take them in completely different directions. Saba Qamar played Saman, a woman strongly attracted to wealth, comfort and social status. Her sister Aiman, played by Aamina Sheikh, takes a quieter path. Aiman is repeatedly underestimated and overlooked. She faces difficult circumstances but continues building her life with patience and resilience. As the story progresses, the sisters’ fortunes change dramatically. The drama explores how ambition, relationships and personal choices can shape a person’s future. Durr-e-Shehwar (2012) Durr-e-Shehwar explored marriage from a perspective that was rarely shown without romanticising sacrifice. The central character enters marriage expecting affection and companionship. Instead, she faces emotional distance from her husband and hostility from her mother-in-law. The story is later viewed through the eyes of her daughter, Shandana. She initially believes her parents had a perfect marriage. She eventually discovers the struggles her mother endured. The drama raises questions about compromise, expectations and the sacrifices women make to preserve relationships. Digest Writer (2014) Saba Qamar played Fareeda, a young woman whose ambitions are often overshadowed by the expectations placed on her family’s son. Writing becomes Fareeda’s escape and her way of expressing herself. She begins publishing stories under the name Rashk-e-Hina. Her talent eventually attracts the attention of a television producer, giving her an opportunity to enter the drama industry. However, success does not come easily. Fareeda faces professional rivalry, betrayal and pressure from her family. The drama presents ambition as something meaningful while also showing the personal cost of pursuing a career in a difficult environment. Udaari (2016) Udaari tackled one of the most sensitive subjects in Pakistani television. The story follows Zebo, whose childhood is shattered by abuse. However, the drama does not define her entire identity through her trauma. Instead, Zebo gradually finds the courage to speak about what happened to her. Her mother also undergoes a major transformation. After realising the danger her daughter faces, she chooses to protect Zebo and rebuild their lives. Meera, a singer living nearby, also becomes an important source of support. One of the drama’s most powerful moments comes when Zebo confronts her abuser in court. Rather than accepting shame for what happened to her, she identifies herself as a survivor. Across four decades, these dramas demonstrate how Pakistani television has portrayed women in changing ways. From Sana’s determination to build a career to Zebo’s courage to seek justice, these characters were given stories beyond romance and victimhood.

Britney Spears’ emotional confession: “I failed as a mother”

Britney Spears has opened up about her painful experiences with motherhood, her relationship with her parents, and her desire to reconnect with her faith and former sense of self. The pop star recently shared an emotional message on X, reflecting on difficult memories involving her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, and her two sons. In the post, Spears described feeling deeply hurt after discovering that her parents had spent time with her children at the beach without including her. According to Spears, she learned several years ago that her parents had secretly taken her sons to the beach during the summer. Looking back, she recalled seeing photographs of Jamie and Lynne enjoying outings with her children and questioned why she had not been included. Spears explained that the situation left her feeling isolated and emotionally devastated. She said she struggled to understand why her parents were able to spend private time with her children while she felt excluded from their lives. The experience, she said, caused her to cry for months and left her feeling demoralized. She also remembered a period when her father restricted her freedom after she attracted significant attention from paparazzi. Spears recalled wanting to go out for a hamburger with a new friend but being prevented from doing so because of the media attention surrounding her. Her memories appeared to highlight how controlled and disconnected she felt during that period of her life. The singer also reflected on her role as a mother after having a conversation with one of her sons about religion. Spears revealed that her son told her he believed everything could be explained through science and did not personally believe in God. Hearing this apparently affected her deeply, leading her to question whether she had failed in some way as a mother. Spears explained that her faith remains important to her and that she believes in the existence of the Holy Spirit. She expressed a desire to reconnect with God and rediscover the spirituality that has provided meaning in her life. Throughout her message, Spears appeared to be searching for a sense of identity beyond the pressures and struggles she has experienced. She reflected on how she once felt more enthusiastic and excited about life and expressed a wish to reconnect with that version of herself. Describing herself simply as “mamma,” Spears seemed to emphasize how important motherhood remains to her despite the complicated emotions surrounding her family relationships. Her message conveyed feelings of regret, sadness, longing, and hope as she looked back on her experiences. Her latest comments also come after a difficult period in her personal life. Spears was arrested in March near her Ventura County home following a report of reckless driving. She later pleaded guilty to a reckless-driving charge and was ordered to complete probation, pay a fine, and attend court-directed mental health appointments. She also reportedly entered rehabilitation. Despite these challenges, Spears’ recent reflection suggests that she is focused on healing, understanding herself, strengthening her faith, and rebuilding her connection with the dreams and identity she once had.

Kubra Khan breaks silence on Dr Bahu criticism

Pakistani actress Kubra Khan has addressed the criticism she faced for her role in the hit drama Dr Bahu, revealing that the negative comments surrounding her appearance and on-screen pairing with co-star Shuja Asad deeply affected her. Dr Bahu, which is approaching its finale on ARY Digital, has remained one of the most talked-about dramas of the season. Written by Sanam Mehdi Zaryab and directed by renowned filmmaker Mehreen Jabbar, the serial is produced by Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib. Kubra Khan plays the lead role, while Shuja Asad stars opposite her. Although the drama has received praise for its storytelling and performances, it also sparked widespread debate online. Many social media users criticized the casting of Kubra Khan and Shuja Asad, with some claiming that the actress appeared older than her co-star. The criticism soon expanded beyond the pairing, with users also commenting on Kubra’s hairstyle, clothing, and weight. Speaking during a recent appearance on journalist Maliha Rehman’s YouTube show, Kubra Khan shared how the online backlash impacted her emotionally despite her decision to remain silent. She admitted that the criticism did hurt her, explaining that choosing not to respond publicly did not mean she was unaffected by the comments. According to the actress, people often assume silence means indifference, but that was never the case for her. Kubra also spoke about the unrealistic beauty standards that women in the entertainment industry are expected to meet. She said there is a narrow definition of beauty that expects women to be extremely slim, tall, and fair-skinned, making it difficult for many actresses to fit into those expectations. The actress pointed out that she does not consider herself to fit those conventional standards and has dealt with such judgments for years. She added that seeing people criticize her weight simply because it became a trending topic was upsetting. Rather than engaging with online trolls, Kubra chose to stay quiet because she believed responding would not change anyone’s mindset. She said it felt like “talking to a wall,” making it pointless to defend herself against endless criticism. Kubra further revealed that social media users also targeted her hairstyle and wardrobe during the drama’s initial episodes. She said such things could easily be changed, but she questioned why people were so focused on minor details while far more important issues were taking place in the world. The actress also clarified the story behind her much-discussed hairstyle. She explained that the haircut was inspired by the voluminous hairstyles that were popular during the 1990s. According to Kubra, she had already been sporting bangs before they became a viral topic online, but the look unexpectedly drew widespread attention after the drama premiered. Despite the criticism, Kubra Khan has continued to focus on her work, with many viewers praising her performance in Dr Bahu as the serial heads toward its final episodes. Her comments have also reignited conversations about body shaming, unrealistic beauty standards, and the pressure female actors face in the entertainment industry.
