Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau were spotted sharing a casual pint together, appearing in high spirits as the former Canadian prime minister looked back on his summer highlights.

Trudeau, 54, posted a montage on Instagram on Friday, capturing key moments from the past few weeks. Among the images was a warm photo of him and Perry, 41, smiling together over drinks.

The post also featured a photo from his meetup with Michelle and Barack Obama, along with a picture from his daughter Ella-Grace’s graduation. A family holiday snapshot rounded out the collection.

In his caption, Trudeau expressed gratitude for the memorable moments and the people who made the summer feel special to him.

The post came shortly after the couple was spotted arriving at a private airport in Olbia, Italy, adding yet another stop to their ongoing travels together.

Trudeau and Perry have now been together for more than a year. Dating rumours first surfaced after they were seen dining together in Montreal last July.

After roughly six months of speculation, the pair confirmed their relationship publicly on Instagram in December. Since then, they’ve made several joint public appearances.

Earlier this summer, the couple made their red carpet debut together at the 25th Annual Tribeca Festival. They also attended the premiere of Perry’s concert film, “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.”

Speaking about the relationship at that event, Perry told PEOPLE she feels far more grounded across many areas of her life these days. She described herself as being very much in love.

She added that the concert film’s premiere took place after she’d already met the person she now calls the love of her life. According to Perry, that connection left her feeling far more anchored, especially given how easily she can otherwise feel scattered.

Perry was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom for nine years. The former couple, who share five-year-old daughter Daisy, ended their relationship in the middle of last year.

    Houthi Red Sea blockade threat raises fears of wider global energy disruption

    A new threat by Yemen’s Houthi movement to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia has raised concerns about global energy supplies as tensions across the Middle East continue to escalate. The announcement comes at a time when shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has already been disrupted, increasing fears that two of the region’s most important oil routes could be affected at the same time. The Iran aligned Houthi group said it plans to target Saudi Arabia through a blockade in the Red Sea. While the group has not explained how it intends to enforce the measure, the warning has intensified concerns over the security of international shipping and energy exports. The Bab el Mandeb Strait at the southern entrance to the Red Sea is one of the world’s most important maritime routes. It connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and serves as a key passage for oil shipments travelling between the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Since disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia has redirected much of its crude oil exports to its Red Sea port of Yanbu. From there, shipments bound for Europe pass through the Suez Canal, while cargo heading to Asian markets travels south through the Bab el Mandeb Strait. Industry data shows that oil exports from Yanbu have increased sharply over the past year, making the Red Sea an increasingly vital route for global energy markets. Millions of barrels of petroleum now pass through the Bab el Mandeb every day, helping to stabilise international oil supplies despite ongoing tensions elsewhere in the region. Analysts warn that any serious disruption in the Red Sea could significantly affect global energy prices by restricting another major export route from the Gulf. Saudi Arabia is reportedly considering expanding its pipeline network to the Red Sea coast to reduce dependence on vulnerable sea lanes. The Houthis have been involved in conflict with Yemen’s internationally recognised government for more than a decade and have previously launched missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia. Although a truce reached in 2022 reduced fighting, tensions have risen again following recent military strikes around Sanaa. The latest escalation began after Yemen’s recognised government said it had targeted Sanaa airport to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing. The Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for the attack and responded by firing missiles towards Abha airport in southern Saudi Arabia. A senior Houthi official later warned that continued escalation could lead to the closure of the Bab el Mandeb Strait. Although the Houthis maintain that they make their own military decisions, the United States has long accused Iran of supplying the group with weapons, funding and training. The Houthis reject claims that they act as an Iranian proxy. The movement previously disrupted international shipping after the outbreak of the Gaza war in late 2023. It launched attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, saying the operations were intended to support Palestinians. Those attacks forced many major shipping companies to reroute vessels around southern Africa, increasing transport costs and delaying deliveries worldwide. Although Red Sea traffic had begun recovering after attacks eased, shipping through the Suez Canal remains well below previous levels. The latest Houthi threat has renewed fears that instability could once again disrupt one of the world’s busiest trade routes. During the recent conflict involving Iran, the Houthis played a more limited military role than other armed groups aligned with Tehran. However, their latest announcement suggests they may now be prepared to increase pressure on regional rivals, raising fresh concerns over the security of global energy supplies and international trade.

The ship was reportedly hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia in April, sparking concern and calls for efforts to bring the Pakistani sailors home. Anjum had previously raised his voice on the issue, saying he personally knew one of the crew members and considered him like a brother.     The Trump administration plans to revoke certain non-immigrant visas held by foreign nationals who have applied for asylum or are currently seeking asylum in the United States. The State Department said Monday that it is working with the Department of Homeland Security to identify people who entered the country as temporary visitors but later filed asylum applications. Officials said the goal is to revoke their visitor visas. The department did not provide an estimate of how many visas could be affected. However, the Associated Press reported that the number could reach 200,000, based on State Department documents and information from two U.S. officials. If carried out at that scale it could become the largest mass visa revocation in U.S. history. The reported policy would affect B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 to people who have sought asylum. B1 visas are generally used for business travel while B2 visas cover tourism and other temporary visits. Visa cancellation would not automatically mean immediate deportation. According to the AP report many people with pending asylum cases could remain in the United States while their cases are processed but they would no longer hold their previous business or tourism visitor status. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said Monday that the U.S. immigration system has been overwhelmed by what he described as frivolous asylum claims. The State Department previously announced that more than 175,000 visas had been revoked under the Trump administration. The planned visa action is part of President Donald Trump’s broader immigration enforcement campaign which includes visa and green-card cancellations and an expanded deportation effort. The administration says these measures are intended to strengthen national security and enforce U.S. immigration laws. Civil rights and immigrant advocacy groups have criticized the broader crackdown arguing that some government actions threaten due process and free-speech protections. They have also raised concerns about racial profiling and the treatment of minority communities. Trump campaigned in 2024 on promises to reduce illegal immigration. Since returning to office, his administration has also introduced measures affecting legal immigration, including higher costs for some employment-based visa programs. Several immigration policies have faced legal challenges in U.S. courts.

According to the statement, the event has been designed as a cinematic, light-driven production, combining an international headliner with a custom-built stage, large-scale visuals, and a strong emphasis on audience safety and overall experience. Local acts Bilal Brohi and Hazey will open the night ahead of Axwell’s headline performance, organisers confirmed. OP Productions described Pakistan as one of the largest untapped markets in global live entertainment. The company pointed to the country’s population of more than 240 million and its notably young median age as key factors that make it an attractive destination for international touring artists. According to the organisers, “First Light” is intended to serve as a long-term platform for bringing global touring acts to Pakistan, positioning the country more firmly on the international live-entertainment map. Paracha said the event is meant to show the world what Pakistan is truly ready for. He added that Pakistanis deserve the chance to experience world-class live entertainment, and that the country has every right to claim its place on the global stage. He further stated that Pakistan already has the audience, energy and appetite for large-scale live events, and that “First Light” aims to prove the country is fully capable of hosting them. Tickets are being sold through Ticketwala, with Bronze, Silver, Gold, VIP and Platinum categories available. Limited early-bird pricing is currently on offer across select tiers. Organisers also confirmed a dedicated Pink section has been reserved exclusively for solo women, reflecting the event’s stated commitment to providing a safe, welcoming environment for all attendees.
