Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau were spotted sharing a casual pint together, appearing in high spirits as the former Canadian prime minister looked back on his summer highlights.

Trudeau, 54, posted a montage on Instagram on Friday, capturing key moments from the past few weeks. Among the images was a warm photo of him and Perry, 41, smiling together over drinks.

The post also featured a photo from his meetup with Michelle and Barack Obama, along with a picture from his daughter Ella-Grace’s graduation. A family holiday snapshot rounded out the collection.

In his caption, Trudeau expressed gratitude for the memorable moments and the people who made the summer feel special to him.

The post came shortly after the couple was spotted arriving at a private airport in Olbia, Italy, adding yet another stop to their ongoing travels together.

Trudeau and Perry have now been together for more than a year. Dating rumours first surfaced after they were seen dining together in Montreal last July.

After roughly six months of speculation, the pair confirmed their relationship publicly on Instagram in December. Since then, they’ve made several joint public appearances.

Earlier this summer, the couple made their red carpet debut together at the 25th Annual Tribeca Festival. They also attended the premiere of Perry’s concert film, “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.”

Speaking about the relationship at that event, Perry told PEOPLE she feels far more grounded across many areas of her life these days. She described herself as being very much in love.

She added that the concert film’s premiere took place after she’d already met the person she now calls the love of her life. According to Perry, that connection left her feeling far more anchored, especially given how easily she can otherwise feel scattered.

Perry was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom for nine years. The former couple, who share five-year-old daughter Daisy, ended their relationship in the middle of last year.

    BTS has stunned fans and the music industry by announcing that they will not submit their music for consideration at the 69th Grammy Awards in 2027. He emphasized that the new Asian Pop category was created to celebrate the growth and diversity of Asian music rather than separate it from mainstream recognition.  Mason also addressed concerns that artists placed in the new category would be excluded from the Grammys’ top honors. He clarified that submitting work for a genre-specific category does not affect eligibility for major awards such as Album of the Year, Song of the Year, or Record of the Year. According to Mason, artists can compete in both genre and general field categories at the same time.  The controversy has sparked intense debate among fans and industry observers. Supporters of BTS argue that music should be evaluated based on artistic merit rather than geographical origin or language. Others believe the new category could provide greater recognition for Asian artists who have historically been underrepresented at the Grammys.  The boycott is particularly notable because BTS returned this year with their comeback album ARIRANG after completing military service.       Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi has said that Pakistan has become militarily invincible and stressed that “work, work and work” should remain the nation’s guiding principle for the country’s progress and prosperity. The governor made these remarks while addressing an Independence Day ceremony at the Governor House, where he hoisted the national flag and offered prayers for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Nihal Hashmi said that Independence Day was an opportunity to remember the people who struggled and made sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized that the nation should honour their efforts by working sincerely for the development of the country. “Work, work and work should be our motto,” the governor said, calling on citizens to contribute actively to the country’s progress. He stressed that Pakistan’s future depends not only on government institutions but also on the commitment and responsibility of every citizen. The Sindh governor also spoke about Pakistan’s defence capabilities, saying that the country had become militarily invincible. He said that when India challenged Pakistan’s defence, Field Marshal Asim Munir gave India a “befitting response,” adding that the response demonstrated Pakistan’s strength and resilience. Hashmi said Pakistan’s defence capabilities had earned recognition internationally. He maintained that the country had shown that it was capable of protecting its sovereignty and responding effectively to any threat. The Independence Day ceremony at Governor House was attended by officials and other guests. The national flag was hoisted as part of the celebrations, while prayers were offered for the country’s security, peace and prosperity. The governor also highlighted the importance of cleanliness and civic responsibility. He said that keeping homes, schools, neighbourhoods and cities clean was the responsibility of every citizen. He urged people to play their part in improving their surroundings instead of relying solely on government institutions to address cleanliness and sanitation issues. According to Hashmi, national development begins at the individual and community levels. If citizens take responsibility for maintaining clean streets and public spaces, it can contribute to a healthier and more organized society. He said that remembering the sacrifices made for Pakistan should inspire citizens to work for its future rather than merely celebrate Independence Day as a national occasion. He also emphasized that Pakistan’s continued progress requires collective efforts from people across the country. From maintaining cleanliness in local communities to contributing to economic and social development, every citizen can play a role in strengthening the nation. Concluding his message, Nihal Hashmi urged citizens to remain committed to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.     SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected claims that he questioned the Kashmiri identity of the people of Rawalakot, saying his remarks had been misunderstood and reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a public gathering in Sialkot on Friday, the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said he had “never said that the people of Rawalakot are not Kashmiris.” He stressed that Pakistan’s bond with Kashmir remains unwavering and added that pro-Pakistan slogans continue to be raised in Indian-administered Kashmir. Khawaja Asif also pledged that the government would not allow the abolition of refugee-reserved seats, describing Kashmiri refugees as the rightful stakeholders whose political representation must be protected. “The refugee seats will not be abolished. Kashmiri refugees are the true heirs of these constituencies,” he told supporters, adding that the government remained committed to safeguarding their constitutional and political rights. The defence minister also criticized the Action Committee operating in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, accusing it of encouraging unrest despite the government having previously accepted many of its demands. He claimed that financial assistance amounting to Rs24-25 billion had already been provided to address public concerns. Without presenting evidence, Asif further alleged that some members of the committee were “suspicious” and receiving foreign funding, asserting that their activities were creating unnecessary instability instead of contributing to constructive dialogue. Turning to politics, the PML-N leader expressed confidence that his party would form the next government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, saying the party remained committed to development, stability and public welfare in the region. His remarks come amid heightened political debate over Kashmir-related issues and governance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where political parties continue to campaign on questions of representation, development and regional stability ahead of future electoral contests.

    Yami Gautam recalls nearly quitting Bollywood

    Actor Yami Gautam has revealed that she was once on the verge of leaving Bollywood after years of struggling to find meaningful roles despite the success of her debut film. In a recent interview, the Vicky Donor star reflected on one of the most difficult phases of her career, admitting that she had almost returned to her hometown in Himachal Pradesh before her breakthrough with Uri: The Surgical Strike changed everything. Gautam made her Bollywood debut opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the 2012 hit Vicky Donor. Although the film was well received, she said the success did not translate into the kind of opportunities she had hoped for. Instead, she spent years waiting for substantial roles while being labelled an “unconventional” actress because she had not been introduced as a typical Bollywood heroine. Recalling that difficult period, Gautam told Filmfare: “Just before Uri and Bala, I had made peace with leaving the industry altogether. I thought I’d return to Himachal. We have farmland there. I imagined beginning a completely different life. My parents were incredibly supportive. They simply said, ‘Come home.’” The actress explained that she had become disheartened by the lack of opportunities and had accepted the possibility of stepping away from acting altogether. However, everything changed when she was cast opposite Vicky Kaushal in the 2019 blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike. The film proved to be a turning point in her career and restored her confidence in the industry. She recalled: “And strangely, the moment I stopped clinging to the industry out of fear, everything changed. Uri happened. Bala happened. Life changed almost overnight.” During the interview, Gautam also spoke candidly about the challenges of being an outsider in Bollywood. While she said she never viewed being an outsider as the biggest obstacle, she admitted that constantly having to prove herself was emotionally exhausting. She said: “The difficult part wasn’t being an outsider. It was constantly having to prove yourself. Sometimes you’d feel you were ready for a particular opportunity, yet someone else would receive repeated chances simply because they already belonged to the ecosystem.” The Article 370 actor noted that star children often receive multiple opportunities even after unsuccessful projects, while outsiders frequently have to wait years for a single meaningful role. She added: “You’d think, If I were given that many opportunities, wouldn’t I also continue growing as an actor? That was the real frustration.” Despite those experiences, Gautam believes the industry has evolved in recent years and that audiences are placing greater importance on talent rather than background. She concluded: “But I genuinely believe things have changed. Today, audiences don’t care where you come from. They care whether you’re a good actor. Whether your films are worth watching. Whether they trust your choices. That gives me tremendous hope for the next generation.” On the personal front, Yami Gautam married Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar on June 4, 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Vedavid, on May 10, 2024. Today, Gautam is regarded as one of Bollywood’s most respected performers, with her journey serving as an example of perseverance despite years of setbacks.

    Police intensify Mir Ali Raza murder probe

    Police have stepped up investigations into the abduction and murder of 25-year-old businessman Mir Ali Raza, whose body was found in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar after he disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Investigators are pursuing multiple leads and examining digital evidence as they work to identify those responsible for the killing. According to the investigation, Raza returned home from his business on the night of July 28. A short while later, he left again after telling his family that he would return within 10 minutes. When he failed to come back, his family became concerned and later reported the matter to the police. CCTV footage collected by investigators shows a white vehicle arriving outside Raza’s residence at around 4am. The footage allegedly shows the businessman getting into the rear seat of the vehicle before it drove away. Police are trying to trace the vehicle and identify everyone who was inside at the time. The businessman’s body was later recovered from bushes in Block 1 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. A preliminary investigation found that he had been subjected to torture before being shot once in the chest. Officials also clarified that rumours claiming acid had been used were incorrect. They said the condition of the body resulted from decomposition after it had remained at the location for more than 30 hours. Investigators discovered that before his disappearance, Raza had booked an online taxi and travelled to the kitchen facility used for his dessert business in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The taxi driver confirmed dropping him off at the location. Police believe the kidnapping and murder occurred after he left the premises. One of the biggest challenges in the investigation is the disappearance of the victim’s mobile phone. Police have requested technical assistance from telecom authorities to obtain his call records, location history and other digital data. Investigators are also examining the people he had recently contacted to determine whether any connection exists between those communications and the crime. Authorities are also investigating the sudden deactivation of Raza’s social media accounts shortly before his body was discovered. Investigators are trying to establish whether the accounts were deactivated by the businessman himself or by someone who gained access to his phone after the incident. Police have questioned employees working at the kitchen on the night of the incident, along with staff members employed at his restaurants. Several people have been interviewed as part of the investigation, but officials have not disclosed further details, saying the inquiry is still ongoing. Investigators continue to analyse CCTV footage collected from nearby houses, shops and streets in an effort to reconstruct the victim’s final movements. However, officials say the absence of a citywide surveillance system and the poor quality of many privately installed cameras have made the investigation more difficult.
