Rayong Police Arrest Two Suspects, Seize Four Illegal Firearms in Crackdown

RAYONG, Thailand

Officers from Pluak Daeng Police Station in Rayong Province arrested two suspects and seized four illegal firearms on August 12th, 2026, as part of a government-backed operation targeting drugs, illegal goods, and weapons.

Police Colonel Nawin Sinthurat, superintendent of Pluak Daeng Police Station, ordered the action. Police Lieutenant Colonel Suchat Dusdee, deputy superintendent of investigation, led the operation alongside Police Lieutenant Colonel Niyom Chuephaka, investigation inspector, and a team of investigation officers. The officers conducted a surround-and-search operation to crack down on narcotics, prohibited items, and firearms within their jurisdiction, aiming to prevent and suppress crime and enhance public safety.

The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects. The first, identified as Mr. Lampong, was found in possession of three homemade long guns of Thai manufacture. The second, Mr. Phaithoon, was arrested with one homemade long gun of the same type.

Authorities charged both men with illegal possession of firearms. The suspects and the seized weapons were then transferred to investigators at Pluak Daeng Police Station for further legal proceedings.
