Saharat also issued a warning to motorists in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, and Nakhon Pathom to prepare for possible road flooding tomorrow due to forecasted high tides. Authorities urge all drivers to exercise heightened caution as the holiday travel period concludes.

As Pakistan marks its 79th Independence Day, the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum star took a moment to reflect on what freedom should mean for the people living in the country. While holding the national flag, Hania shared a message that focused not only on celebrating Pakistan but also on the safety and well-being of its children. “Happy birthday, Pakistan. I hope one day all your children can feel safe here,” Hania said in her Independence Day message. Her words quickly attracted attention online, with many people praising the actress for highlighting an important issue alongside the celebrations. (Instagram) Rather than focusing solely on patriotic celebrations, Hania’s message carried a quieter and more thoughtful tone. Her wish for children to feel safe reflects a broader desire for peace, security and a better future for the younger generation. For many Pakistanis, Independence Day is a time to celebrate the country’s history and remember the sacrifices made during the struggle for independence. However, Hania’s message encouraged people to think about what the future of the country should look like for its youngest citizens. Children are often considered the future of any nation. Their ability to grow, study and build their lives in a safe environment is an important part of a country’s progress. Hania’s simple message therefore resonated with people who share the hope of seeing a more peaceful Pakistan. The actress has frequently used her social media presence to connect with her millions of followers and speak about issues close to her heart. Her latest Independence Day message continued that approach, combining a traditional birthday wish for Pakistan with a hopeful thought about the country’s future. Social media users responded to the message by praising its sincerity. Several posts sharing Hania’s words described her wish as a reminder that true freedom should include safety and peace for everyone, particularly children. (Facebook) Hania’s message ultimately offered a different kind of Independence Day reflection. While flags, celebrations and patriotic songs remain an important part of August 14, her words focused on a hope that goes beyond a single day. Her wish is simple: a Pakistan where every child can grow up without fear and feel secure in the place they call home. As the country celebrates another year of independence, Hania’s message serves as a reminder that building a safer and more peaceful future is an important part of the meaning of freedom.

Saudi Crown Prince urges Trump to avoid escalation…

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has spoken by phone with US President Donald Trump, reportedly expressing concern over Washington’s plans for major military strikes against Iran. According to international media reports, the Saudi crown prince urged the US president to take steps to reduce tensions in the region and avoid further military action against Iran. The call comes amid growing fears that an escalation between Washington and Tehran could destabilize the wider Middle East and threaten regional security. During the conversation, Mohammed bin Salman reportedly emphasized the importance of pursuing diplomatic channels and finding ways to de-escalate the situation. Saudi Arabia has maintained close ties with the United States while also seeking to avoid a broader regional conflict that could affect the security and stability of Gulf countries. Reports indicate that Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and Pakistan are also encouraging Washington to reduce tensions and seek a diplomatic solution. The countries have reportedly expressed concerns that any major escalation could have serious consequences for the region and potentially disrupt trade, energy supplies, and maritime routes. Meanwhile, diplomatic contacts appear to be continuing on multiple fronts. Qatari mediators have reportedly been in communication with Iran’s foreign minister, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Omani officials as efforts to prevent further escalation gather momentum. The diplomatic activity comes as concerns remain high over the security of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime routes. A significant portion of global oil shipments passes through the waterway, making any disruption a major concern for international energy markets. Separately, a US-based website has claimed that negotiators have made some progress toward reaching an agreement aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, details of the reported progress remain unclear, and there has been no confirmed announcement of a final agreement from the parties involved. The latest diplomatic efforts suggest that regional and international actors are increasingly pushing for negotiations to prevent the situation from developing into a wider conflict. Any breakthrough in talks could help ease tensions and reduce the risk of further military confrontation in the region.

Will Smith gets rare backing from his King Richard…

Will Smith has received rare public support from his King Richard co-star Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, who has defended the actor’s actions during his infamous 2022 Oscars confrontation with Chris Rock. Ellis-Taylor, who played Oracene “Brandy” Price in the Oscar-winning film, discussed the controversy during an appearance on The Daily Beast’s Obsessed podcast. More than four years after the incident, she made it clear that she still stands behind Smith’s decision to defend his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. (People.com) “I know that he wanted to protect his wife, and I stand by that,” Ellis-Taylor said during the interview. She also criticized the idea that freedom of speech should automatically protect comments she considers deliberately hurtful or disrespectful. (People.com) The controversy dates back to the 2022 Academy Awards, when Rock was presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature. During his remarks, the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, comparing her appearance to Demi Moore’s character in G.I. Jane. Pinkett Smith had previously spoken publicly about her alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss. (The Washington Post) Smith initially appeared to laugh at the joke before walking onto the stage and slapping Rock. He then returned to his seat and shouted at the comedian to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth. The shocking moment was broadcast to audiences around the world and immediately became one of the most talked-about incidents in Oscars history. (The Washington Post) Smith later apologized publicly, calling his behavior unacceptable and inexcusable. The Academy also launched a formal review, and Smith eventually resigned from the organization. He was subsequently banned from attending Academy events for 10 years. (The Washington Post) Despite the controversy, Ellis-Taylor says her personal experience with Smith was very different from the image created by the Oscars incident. She praised him for being caring and respectful while they worked together on King Richard, particularly toward crew members and background actors. She described his kindness on set as something she considered unusual in Hollywood. (Page Six) Her comments offer a different perspective on an incident that continues to divide public opinion. While many have condemned Smith’s decision to respond physically, Ellis-Taylor believes understanding his motivation matters. The actress is not the first person connected to King Richard to defend Smith. Richard Williams, the real-life father portrayed by Smith in the movie, also previously expressed support for the actor and said he would not turn against him over the Oscars incident. (cbsnews.com) Years later, the slap remains part of Smith’s public story. But Ellis-Taylor’s latest comments show that some of the people who know him personally continue to separate the controversial moment from the person they experienced behind the scenes.
