Supalai plans Euro Village landmark with shops and restaurants in Hua Hin
Supalai Euro Village Hua Hin is being planned as a new lagoon-side lifestyle and tourism destination in the Hin Lek Fai area, with shops, restaurants, public spaces, event venues and a boutique hotel.
A major new lifestyle and tourism destination is being planned in Hua Hin, with Thai property developer Supalai aiming to create a European-style village beside a lagoon in the Hin Lek Fai area.
The project, called Supalai Euro Village Hua Hin, is planned next to the Supalai Lagoon Hua Hin residential development and is being positioned as a new destination for dining, shopping, leisure, events and short stays.
The mixed-use development is expected to include shops, restaurants, public walkways, event spaces, a boutique hotel, a rooftop terrace and a swimming pool with elevated views. Supalai says the project will also feature architecture inspired by more than 20 European countries.
The development reflects a shift in the property market, with some developers moving beyond traditional residential projects and adding lifestyle, tourism and commercial components designed to attract both residents and visitors.
Prateep Tangmatitham, chairman of the executive board of Supalai Public Company Limited, said the holiday home market has changed in recent years. Properties once seen mainly as weekend retreats are increasingly being used for longer stays, remote work, day-to-day living and leisure.
Supalai Euro Village Hua Hin has therefore not been designed only as a shopping centre or community mall, but as part of a larger residential and commercial environment linking homeowners, tourists, businesses and local services.
European-style shops, restaurants and public spaces
A central feature of the project will be its European-inspired design. Supalai said the development will draw on architectural styles from countries including Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Scandinavian nations.
The concept includes shopfronts, restaurants and public areas along the lagoon, arranged as a waterfront arcade. Other planned features include a dancing fountain, classic-style bridges, walking areas by the water, a windmill, a lighthouse and a large town plaza.
The company says the aim is to create a place where visitors can spend time, take photographs, eat, shop and attend events, rather than simply pass through a retail complex.
Supalai is also planning spaces aimed at the events market. These include a dome pavilion and a European-style church designed to host weddings, meetings, exhibitions and private events.
The planned boutique hotel, rooftop terrace and swimming pool are intended to appeal to travellers looking for a different type of stay from a standard hotel. The project is also expected to target the MICE market, which includes meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
For Hua Hin, the project could add another attraction away from the beachfront and help bring more activity to the Hin Lek Fai area. If completed as planned, it would create new opportunities for restaurants, shops, service providers and event operators, while also supporting the surrounding residential market.
Supalai is preparing to invite operators and business partners to join the commercial areas of the project. Registration has opened for businesses interested in reserving shop space in advance, with the company offering free rent during the first year as an incentive.
The move suggests Supalai is aiming to build an active commercial community from the early stages of the project, rather than waiting for residential demand alone to support the area.
The project comes at a time when competition in Hua Hin’s property market remains strong, particularly among developments aimed at Bangkok buyers, retirees, second-home owners and long-stay residents.
By combining housing, retail, hospitality and leisure in one location, Supalai is seeking to create a new destination that could serve both local residents and visitors to Hua Hin.
If successful, Supalai Euro Village Hua Hin could become one of the most recognisable new landmarks in the city and add to Hua Hin’s growing range of lifestyle and tourism attractions.
