Takhian Tia Mayor and Officials Inspect Road and Nearby Land After Reports of Illegal Waste Dumping
TAKHIAN TIA, Chonburi – August 14th, 2026 – Mayor Mitchai Prakobtham of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality, together with officers from the Public Health and Environment Division, the head of public health services, local administrative staff, and other officials, conducted an on-site inspection on Thursday of a road and surrounding area following online reports of illegal dumping of industrial waste allegedly transported from the Ban Khai District in Rayong Province into the Takhian Tia area.
The team examined potential risk sites after social media posts claimed industrial waste from Rayong had been dumped in the subdistrict.

Inspection of a location in Ban Na Wang along Motorway Route 7 (inbound toward Bangkok) in Moo 3 revealed piles of soil, construction debris, wood scraps, and general waste. Officials confirmed the materials were not industrial waste originating from Rayong, contrary to the circulating online claims.

Authorities noted that the site had previously been checked. A tenant working for the landowner, identified as Ms. Suchada (nicknamed Jeab), had been authorized to deposit limestone rubble and fill material to level the plot. Ms. Suchada had left subordinates in charge for an extended period; those workers fled before officials arrived, after which the online reports emerged.

On Thursday, municipal officials met with the landowner, who traveled from Bangkok after learning of the reports and expressed shock at the situation. She pledged to fully clear and manage the waste within no more than 30 days as agreed during the discussions. She also thanked the municipality and apologized to local residents for any inconvenience caused.

The Public Health and Environment Division has instructed operators to strictly comply with municipal regulations and will install “No Dumping” signs at high risk locations. Officials are also coordinating with community leaders and village health volunteers (VHVs) to maintain ongoing surveillance against illegal waste dumping.

Residents who notice any irregularities are encouraged to contact the Public Health and Environment Division of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality at 080-109-2429. Officials urged the public to help monitor and protect the local environment for the benefit of Takhian Tia residents.
