Thailand Rejects Cambodian Bid to Relocate Border Talks to Kuala Lumpur

BANGKOK — Thailand has formally rejected a proposal from Cambodia to change the venue of a critical border committee meeting from Chanthaburi province to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The General Border Committee (GBC) meeting is scheduled for tomorrow as part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate hostilities along the shared frontier.

Thailand and Cambodia to Hold Ceasefire Talks This Wednesday

Cambodia’s request, conveyed in a letter from Defence Minister Tea Seiha to the Thai GBC, cited safety concerns as the reason for seeking to move the talks abroad. Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow confirmed today that the meeting will proceed as originally planned in Chanthaburi.

Minister Sihasak noted that Cambodia has not yet presented any preconditions for the talks but stated Thailand is open to discussing any such conditions if raised during the meeting. Thailand has, however, outlined three key principles for any ceasefire agreement: Cambodia must declare a ceasefire first; the ceasefire must be genuine, sustained, and observed; and Cambodia must cooperate in good faith on joint mine-clearance efforts. Thailand also insists that the border conflict be resolved bilaterally between the two nations.

The diplomatic standoff continues amid ongoing military clashes. The Second Army Region reported that two Thai soldiers were injured yesterday in fighting near the Ta Kwai and Ta Muen Thom ancient temple ruins in Surin province. The skirmishes mark the sixteenth consecutive day of conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border.

Pakistan approves 1m tonnes wheat imports

Pakistan’s strategic wheat reserves have fallen to critically low levels, with the stocks held by the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) reportedly almost exhausted. The shortage has emerged despite the International Monetary Fund (IMF) allowing the government to procure wheat. Federal and provincial authorities, however, were unable to secure sufficient quantities, resulting in a sharp decline in PASSCO’s strategic reserves. The situation has raised concerns about maintaining adequate wheat supplies and meeting future requirements. PASSCO plays an important role in maintaining strategic stocks that can be used to support food security during periods of shortage. In response to the declining reserves, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the import of one million tonnes of wheat. The government has also formed a steering committee to oversee the process and ensure that all necessary requirements are completed before the imported wheat is brought into the country. Officials said the import process will be subject to several conditions. These include pre-shipment inspection to verify the quality and quantity of wheat before it leaves the exporting country. Another major condition requires provincial governments to arrange and provide the funds needed to meet their respective wheat requirements. The latest decision comes as authorities seek to strengthen wheat availability and prevent a potential supply gap. The import plan is expected to help rebuild stocks after the depletion of PASSCO’s strategic reserves. The steering committee will monitor the required procedures and coordinate with the relevant federal and provincial authorities. Its role will include ensuring that the conditions attached to the wheat import decision are fulfilled. The development highlights the importance of timely wheat procurement and strategic stock management. Any delay in rebuilding reserves could create additional pressure on the country’s food supply system, particularly if domestic availability remains insufficient.

Pakistan rejects Taliban allegations over Badakhsh…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has rejected allegations by the Afghan Taliban that Pakistani forces were involved in or supported armed opposition groups during violence in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province. The Ministry of Information dismissed the allegations as baseless and said no credible evidence had been presented to support the claims. The ministry issued the response after Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid alleged in an interview with Aamaj News that Pakistani authorities were physically involved in the unrest in Badakhshan. Pakistan strongly rejected the assertion and said the claim did not reflect the facts on the ground. According to the Ministry of Information, the situation in Badakhshan is linked to Afghanistan’s own internal security and governance challenges. It maintained that there was no evidence establishing Pakistani involvement in the violence. The ministry said independent reports had described the clashes as an armed conflict involving opposition to what it called the Taliban’s non-inclusive and oppressive rule. It added that such reporting had not established any Pakistani role in the fighting. Pakistan also reiterated its stated position that it wants peace and stability in Afghanistan. The ministry said Islamabad had no interest in destabilising its neighbouring country. It urged the Afghan Taliban authorities to focus on addressing the challenges emerging from their own governance rather than attributing Afghanistan’s internal problems to Pakistan. The ministry stressed that allegations unsupported by evidence could not replace established facts. Pakistan has repeatedly called for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan and has maintained that instability inside the neighbouring country should be addressed through political and internal measures.

Olivia Culpo reveals birth plan for second baby as…

Olivia Culpo is opening up about the realities of preparing for baby number two, offering fans an honest glimpse into her birth plan while husband Christian McCaffrey gears up for another demanding NFL season. The former Miss Universe, who is currently in her third trimester, admitted that this pregnancy feels very different from her first as she navigates motherhood alongside her husband’s football commitments.  In a recent TikTok “Get Ready With Me” video, Culpo shared that she has been feeling especially emotional as McCaffrey prepares to return to training camp with the San Francisco 49ers. While many fans associate the NFL season with September kickoffs, Culpo pointed out that players report for training camp in late July, meaning the family’s routine changes well before the regular season begins.  The 34-year-old model also revealed that she will deliver her second child via a scheduled C-section. Having undergone a cesarean delivery with her first child, daughter Colette Annalise McCaffrey, last year, Culpo explained that a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) is not an option for her. As a result, she and McCaffrey carefully planned the procedure around one of the NFL star’s lighter workdays, allowing him to be present for the birth before returning to his team shortly afterward.  Although the arrangement is bittersweet, Culpo remains optimistic. She admitted that knowing McCaffrey will head back to football soon after the baby’s arrival makes this experience very different from welcoming their first child. Still, she expressed gratitude for the strong support system surrounding her, saying she is thankful for her family, friends, and those helping her through the transition.  Culpo and McCaffrey have been together since 2019 and tied the knot in June 2024. They welcomed their first daughter, Colette, in July 2025 before announcing in May 2026 that they were expecting their second child. Their pregnancy announcement, shared on Culpo’s birthday, featured heartfelt family photos and sonogram images, delighting fans across social media.  As the couple prepares to expand their family, Culpo’s candid update has resonated with many parents who understand the challenge of balancing family milestones with demanding careers. Despite the emotional adjustments ahead, she remains focused on welcoming her newest addition while celebrating the unwavering support she shares with McCaffrey, proving that teamwork extends well beyond the football field.
