Two terrorists killed in Balochistan operation

Security forces have killed two terrorists and wounded three others during an intelligence-based operation in Killi Zaik, Balochistan, according to security sources.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of suspected terrorists in the area. Security personnel moved in on the reported hideout and conducted a targeted operation.

Two terrorists were killed during the operation, while three others sustained injuries. Security forces also recovered ammunition, hand grenades and materials believed to have been used for preparing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Officials said security operations against militant groups in Balochistan are continuing as part of ongoing efforts to prevent terrorist attacks and dismantle militant networks operating in the province.

The latest operation comes amid an increase in security activity across Balochistan. In recent days, security forces have conducted several intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province.

On Sunday, seven terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Lajay area of Kharan. The previous day, 10 terrorists were killed and several others were injured during an operation in the Shor Pard area of Khuzdar district.

Earlier, 18 terrorists were reported killed in operations in Surab district. Eight of them were killed after an explosive device detonated prematurely, according to security officials.

Security forces have also carried out operations in Panjgur, where five terrorists, including a key militant commander, were killed in the Sarkini and Chedgi areas.

The intensified security operations come as Balochistan continues to face serious security challenges. The province has witnessed a rise in militant activity and casualties in recent months.

A recent security assessment by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies showed a sharp deterioration in the security situation in Balochistan during July.

According to the assessment, deaths linked to violence in the province increased from 109 in June to 372 in July. The number of security personnel killed also rose significantly, from six in June to 62 in July.

The report further recorded an increase in militant deaths, with 238 terrorists reportedly killed in July compared with 75 in June. Civilian deaths also rose from 28 to 54 during the same period.

Shahzeb Khanzada’s stance for women applauded by celebrities

Shahzeb Khanzada is one of Pakistan’s most prominent television anchors and journalists. He hosts his current affairs show every night, where he regularly discusses important national issues and highlights matters affecting ordinary citizens. Over the years, he has also become known for speaking openly about social injustices and calling attention to issues that often fail to receive the attention they deserve. At a time when concerns about violence, abuse and public safety are growing across the country, Khanzada recently used his platform to speak strongly against violence targeting women and children. His remarks came amid widespread public concern over a number of disturbing cases that have emerged in recent weeks, once again raising questions about the safety of vulnerable members of society. Khanzada strongly condemned violence against women and emphasized the responsibility of individuals and society to stand against such acts. He made it clear that remaining silent after becoming aware of violence against a woman cannot simply be treated as neutrality. According to his stance, people who know that a woman is being subjected to brutality but deliberately choose not to speak up also carry a moral responsibility for allowing such violence to continue. His comments struck a chord with many viewers and public figures. Several celebrities took to social media to appreciate the journalist for using his influential platform to address an issue that requires collective attention. They praised him for refusing to remain silent and for highlighting the importance of protecting women from violence and abuse. Actress Ayesha Omar was among those who appreciated Khanzada’s efforts. She thanked him for consistently speaking up on important social matters and acknowledged his willingness to address difficult subjects publicly. Her response reflected the sentiments of many people who believe that influential personalities have an important role to play in raising awareness about serious social problems. Politician and public figure Mussadiq Malek also expressed his support for Khanzada. He urged people to protect and stand behind individuals who use their platforms to speak against injustice. His comments further highlighted the importance of supporting voices that draw public attention to violence and social issues. Actress Samiya Mumtaz also praised Khanzada for raising his voice. She thanked him for speaking about the issue and joining the conversation surrounding violence against women. The reactions from these well-known personalities demonstrate how strongly Khanzada’s message resonated with people from different backgrounds. Cases involving women and children have repeatedly generated anger and concern across Pakistan, with social media often becoming a platform where people demand justice and accountability. However, public outrage alone cannot address the deeper problems behind such incidents. Greater awareness, responsible reporting, stronger legal protection and a willingness to intervene when someone is at risk are all important parts of creating a safer society. Khanzada’s stance has therefore received appreciation not only because he discussed a sensitive issue on television, but also because he emphasized the importance of refusing to normalize silence around violence. The support from celebrities such as Ayesha Omar, Mussadiq Malek and Samiya Mumtaz shows that his message has found an audience beyond his regular viewers. As conversations surrounding women’s safety and violence continue, Khanzada’s remarks have added another prominent voice to the growing demand for greater accountability and protection. His decision to use his platform for the issue has been widely appreciated by those who believe that speaking against injustice is an important responsibility of public figures.

Viral protest turns Indian model into symbol of resistance

Indian model and social media personality Riya Aher has become a symbol of resistance after standing in front of a police van during a student protest in Mumbai. Her action, captured on video and widely shared online, has drawn nationwide attention and sparked debate over the handling of student demonstrations in India. The incident took place on Wednesday at Shivaji Park in Mumbai’s Dadar area, where students had gathered to protest alleged irregularities in examinations. The demonstrators were demanding greater transparency in the examination process and calling for the resignation of India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. According to Indian media reports, 27-year-old Riya Aher arrived at the protest to express solidarity with the students. As she approached the demonstration site, she noticed a police van carrying a large number of detained students. Concerned about the situation, she questioned police officers about the legal basis for the arrests and asked whether they had arrest warrants for those taken into custody. Riya said the officers did not provide a clear answer. Believing that the students were being treated unfairly, she decided to stand directly in front of the police vehicle, preventing it from moving. She later said she could not remain silent because she believed it was her responsibility as a citizen to speak out against what she considered an injustice. Her action quickly attracted the attention of other protesters and passersby. More people gathered around the police vehicle and joined the demonstration. Protesters raised slogans demanding justice for the students and called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. According to Riya, the public resistance eventually led to the release of the detained students. While officials have not publicly commented on her claim, videos of the confrontation spread rapidly across social media platforms, where many users praised her courage and peaceful protest. Speaking about the viral video, Riya said mobile phone cameras play an important role in documenting events and ensuring accountability. She noted that although young people are often criticised for recording videos on their phones, such recordings can become valuable evidence during public demonstrations and other important incidents. Riya also criticised the government’s response to the student protests, calling the action against demonstrators a serious mistake. She repeated her demand for the education minister’s resignation and urged authorities to respect the democratic right to peaceful protest.

Lamine Yamal’s girlfriend breaks silence over past relationship rumours

Lamine Yamal has been riding a wave of attention ever since his standout performance helped Spain defeat Argentina in the FIFA World Cup. But as the football world celebrated his success, the spotlight quickly turned toward his personal life, and specifically, toward his girlfriend. Social media influencer Inés García Santos found herself at the center of an online storm after rumours claimed she had ended a five-year relationship simply to pursue Yamal. The 21-year-old initially brushed off the speculation, saying she had not planned on addressing it or giving it any weight. Despite her attempt to stay silent, and no verified source backing the claims about her past relationship, the rumours kept spreading across social platforms. Users speculated endlessly about her reasons for supposedly leaving her ex-partner. Some accused her of chasing fame, while others suggested she was simply drawn to dating someone famous. Several commenters even urged Yamal to be cautious about the people around him, with one particularly harsh remark suggesting she might be using him for his status and money. Faced with the growing wave of hostility, García eventually decided to respond. In a post shared on X, she admitted she had not expected something so minor to spiral the way it did. She said she had spent hours reading through the comments and tried to stay strong. She however, wanted to remind people that she is a human too, someone capable of feeling hurt, making mistakes, and experiencing emotions just like anyone else. She acknowledged that not everyone has to like her, and said she welcomes fair and respectful criticism. But she drew a clear line between having an opinion and using that opinion as an excuse to demean, insult, or wish harm on someone you do not personally know. García also appealed for more compassion from online users. She reminded them that the person on the receiving end of their comments has loved ones, insecurities, and feelings, and that words carry more weight than people often realize. She made clear she was not trying to win anyone over, only asking for basic empathy and kindness, stressing that no one should have to endure a flood of hateful messages. Notably, García had already drawn public attention before Spain’s win over Argentina, when she confidently predicted the team’s victory and praised Yamal as the best player on the pitch.

Trump sends Saudi nuclear deal to Congress, ties i…

WASHINGTON: The Trump administration has submitted a landmark civil nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia to the US Congress for review, but President Donald Trump has maintained that the deal will only move forward if Riyadh agrees to normalize relations with Israel. The agreement, reached between the United States and Saudi Arabia in July, would allow American companies to provide civilian nuclear technology to the kingdom. It was formally submitted to Congress on Monday under procedures required by US law, according to US officials. The move puts a potentially major energy partnership into a closely watched congressional review process while adding another layer to Washington’s efforts to reshape relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. Trump has said the nuclear agreement is conditional on Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords, the US-backed framework that established diplomatic ties between Israel and several Arab and Muslim-majority countries. Riyadh has not agreed to normalize relations with Israel and has repeatedly linked such a move to progress toward Palestinian statehood. The nuclear agreement is intended for peaceful energy purposes and could support Saudi Arabia’s plans to develop nuclear power as part of its broader effort to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil. The pact would also open opportunities for US nuclear companies to participate in the kingdom’s planned nuclear infrastructure. However, the deal has already attracted scrutiny from lawmakers and nuclear nonproliferation experts. A key concern is whether the agreement would place sufficient restrictions on Saudi Arabia’s ability to enrich uranium or undertake other activities that could potentially be used for weapons development. Trump previously said the arrangement would not permit uranium enrichment and would be limited to civilian, non-military purposes. However, reports on the agreement have raised questions over the precise safeguards and long-term provisions surrounding Saudi Arabia’s nuclear programme. Congress now has a review period under US law during which lawmakers can examine the agreement and potentially object to it. The classified nature of the submitted document is expected to add to congressional scrutiny. For Saudi Arabia, the agreement could mark a major step toward nuclear energy. For Washington, however, the deal has become intertwined with one of the Middle East’s most sensitive diplomatic questions: whether Riyadh will ultimately establish formal relations with Israel.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene in the 400 block of MacLeod Trail S.E. at approximately 12:25 p.m. following reports of a fire inside the apartment building. According to the Calgary Fire Department, the blaze originated in a single residential suite before quickly spreading, causing significant damage throughout the complex. Firefighters worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from extending to nearby structures while rescue teams assisted residents trapped inside the building. Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services confirmed that six people were transported to hospital with varying degrees of injuries. Among the victims, one person remains in critical condition, while two others sustained serious injuries. Three additional patients were reported to be in stable condition after receiving treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical care. Authorities said the cause remains unknown, and a formal investigation has been launched to establish how the blaze began and whether any safety concerns contributed to the incident. The apartment fire was one of several emergencies handled by Calgary firefighters on Sunday, stretching emergency resources across different parts of the city. Earlier in the day, crews responded to another fire in the northwest community of Kensington, where two detached garages and a power pole were damaged. Firefighters also tackled a large blaze at the Shepard Landfill and Eco Centre in southeast Calgary, highlighting an unusually busy day for emergency services. Officials have not yet released information on the number of residents displaced by the apartment fire or the full extent of structural damage to the building. Authorities are expected to continue examining the scene over the coming days as investigators gather evidence and assess the cause of the blaze. Mir Raza murder probe hits geo-fencing hurdles, po…

KARACHI: Investigators probing the murder of young businessman Mir Raza are facing challenges in completing geo-fencing around the crime scene, with the passage of several days making it harder to accurately reconstruct movements in the area. According to investigative sources, the crime scene is located near a hilly area that has been subjected to geo-fencing. Mobile towers belonging to three different telecom companies are situated around the location, allowing investigators to collect data on mobile activity in the vicinity. Sources said geo-fencing has so far produced location data covering several blocks of Gulistan-i-Jauhar. However, because considerable time has elapsed since the incident, investigators are finding it difficult to establish which individuals were present near the crime scene at the relevant time. Police have also collected various pieces of evidence from the surrounding area. Investigators reportedly conducted a search within a radius of around 500 metres from the location where the body was found. Meanwhile, the newly formed investigation committee has obtained details linked to Mir Raza’s smartwatch. Investigators are now attempting to retrieve the device’s complete data, which could potentially provide additional information about his movements and activities before his death. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to combine digital records, physical evidence and device data to determine what happened in the final hours of Mir Raza’s life.
