Zeeshan Rokhri claims Sangeeta offered low pay for film Makho

Pakistani singer Zeeshan Rokhri has claimed that he turned down an acting offer for the upcoming film Makho because of what he described as an unacceptably low payment.

During a recent interview, the singer alleged that filmmaker Sangeeta offered significantly lower compensation than he expected and also claimed that veteran actor Moammar Rana was being paid only PKR 500,000 for his role in the project.

According to Rokhri, he was approached to appear in Makho and was asked to work on the film for approximately eight days. He said he quoted a fee of PKR 10 million for the role, believing it reflected the value of his time and contribution.

The singer claimed that during discussions, Sangeeta’s team informed him that Moammar Rana, one of Pakistan’s most recognizable film actors, had been signed for the project for PKR 500,000. Rokhri said he was surprised by the figure and decided not to join the film.

Expressing his disappointment, Rokhri argued that paying a senior actor such a modest amount does little to support the country’s entertainment industry. He said artists deserve compensation that reflects their experience and contribution, adding that better financial investment is necessary if Pakistan’s film industry hopes to compete with larger regional markets.

“If we want our film industry to grow and compete with Bollywood, then the budgets also need to match that ambition,” Rokhri said during the interview. He added that performers should be compensated accordingly if the industry expects high-quality productions and long-term development.

Makho is an upcoming Pakistani film directed by veteran actress and filmmaker Sangeeta. The project was announced under a government-backed film grant initiative and features Moammar Rana among its cast. Sangeeta, a prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, has enjoyed a long career both in front of and behind the camera.

Moammar Rana rose to fame during the peak years of Pakistani cinema and has appeared in numerous successful films throughout his career. Although he remains a well-known name in the industry, the actor has faced challenges in recent years, including public criticism following the circulation of a controversial video online.

Rokhri’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion across social media, where users expressed mixed opinions about the reported payment and the future prospects of the film.

Some users argued that Moammar Rana’s commercial appeal has declined over the years, suggesting that his reported fee reflects his current market value. Others questioned whether the budget of the film justified higher payments for its cast.

Several commenters also expressed skepticism about Makho, with some predicting that the film may struggle at the box office due to what they described as its traditional style and outdated approach.

Neither Sangeeta nor the makers of Makho have publicly responded to Rokhri’s claims regarding the reported salaries or the film’s budget. As a result, the payment figures shared by the singer remain unverified, and no official confirmation has been issued by the production team.

Kendall Jenner, Jacob Elordi’s latest outing fuels split rumors

Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi’s relationship has become the subject of fresh speculation after the pair were spotted together at a recent Chris Stapleton concert, with their public appearance prompting renewed discussion about their romance. The couple, who have been linked since earlier this year, attended the concert while keeping a relatively low profile. Both opted for casual white T-shirts and stayed near the side of the stage, avoiding unnecessary attention as they enjoyed the event together. Despite their relaxed appearance, a body language expert suggested that the couple’s interactions reflected a noticeable shift in their relationship dynamic. According to the analysis, Jenner appeared less confident than in previous public outings, while Elordi seemed calm and at ease throughout the evening. The expert observed that Jenner’s gestures were more animated and expressive, describing them as attempts to seek attention or reassurance. In contrast, Elordi reportedly displayed a composed and comfortable demeanor, leading to speculation that the balance in their relationship may have changed. Particular attention was drawn to Jenner’s posture during the concert. The expert noted that the model was seen sitting with her legs crossed while holding her ankle, interpreting the pose as a sign of vulnerability or a desire for reassurance. The analysis suggested that adults sometimes adopt childlike body language when they feel emotionally threatened or uncertain, although such interpretations remain subjective and cannot confirm a person’s actual emotions. Another moment highlighted by the expert involved Jenner gesturing toward something while extending her arm across Elordi’s body. This movement was interpreted as a possible sign of protectiveness or a desire to keep her partner close. The expert argued that the interaction reflected a different dynamic from the couple’s earlier public appearances. Based on these observations, the body language specialist suggested that Elordi appeared to hold a more confident position within the relationship, while Jenner seemed to be seeking greater emotional reassurance. However, body language analysis is based on interpretation rather than confirmed fact, and it cannot accurately determine the true state of a relationship. Neither Jenner nor Elordi has publicly addressed the speculation surrounding their romance, and there has been no indication from either of them that their relationship is experiencing difficulties. The couple has generally chosen to keep their personal lives private and has rarely commented on media reports about their relationship. Jenner, one of the world’s most recognizable fashion models and television personalities, has often maintained a low-key approach to dating despite intense public interest in her personal life. Elordi, meanwhile, continues to focus on his acting career, with several high-profile film projects attracting attention in recent months. The pair first sparked romance rumors earlier this year after reportedly meeting through mutual friends, including Justin and Hailey Bieber. Since then, they have been photographed together on several occasions, fueling ongoing interest from fans and entertainment media. While recent body language interpretations have led to renewed breakup speculation, there is currently no official confirmation that Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi are facing problems in their relationship. For now, reports about the couple’s status remain based largely on public appearances and expert opinion rather than statements from the pair themselves.

AJK polling underway at 23 atations in Bagh

BAGH: Voting is underway at 23 polling stations across two constituencies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Bagh district, in a closely watched exercise following disputes and allegations of irregularities during the region’s phased elections. Polling began at 8am on Saturday and is scheduled to continue until 5pm, with authorities deploying additional security personnel to ensure voters can cast their ballots without fear or disruption. The polling is being held in LA-15 (Bagh Central) and LA-16 (Eastern Bagh), where voting could not take place at several stations during the third phase of the elections earlier this week. The AJK Election Commission subsequently withheld the results of both constituencies and ordered polling at the remaining stations. In LA-15, PPP candidate Sardar Ziaul Qamar had secured 16,637 votes in the stations where polling was held, followed by PML-N’s Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas with 15,015 votes. Jamaat-i-Islami candidate retired Brig Dr Muhammad Khan stood third with 12,259 votes. Meanwhile, the withheld result in LA-16 involves 14 polling stations with 7,238 registered voters. Results from the remaining stations had placed PML-N’s Sardar Mir Akbar in front with 19,515 votes, giving him a lead of 3,225 votes over PPP’s Sardar Qamaruz Zaman. The contest has remained tense, with candidates from all five parties accusing their rivals of large-scale rigging. Election authorities, however, have stressed that adequate security has been arranged. AJK Chief Election Commissioner retired Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said sufficient police and law-enforcement personnel had been deployed at polling stations to provide voters with a “fear-free environment”. The latest polling is part of an election process conducted in phases amid unrest and law-and-order concerns across the region. The third phase was initially planned for all 11 constituencies of Poonch Division but was limited to Bagh and Haveli districts after security concerns emerged. The Election Commission has already announced the result for LA-14 (Bagh-I), where Jammu Kashmir Awami Dast-o-Bazu Party candidate Sajid Iqbal Abbasi won by a substantial margin. The election in neighbouring LA-17 (Haveli), however, has become the subject of a separate dispute after AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore was declared the winner. His PML-N rival, Engineer Mohsin Aziz, challenged the result, prompting the Election Commission to hear arguments from both sides. With voting now underway at the remaining 23 stations, attention is focused on turnout, security and whether the fresh polling will finally settle the disputed contests in Bagh.

Cesar Gastelum killed while livestreaming in Mexico

Mexican social media influencer Cesar Gastelum was shot and killed on Tuesday while livestreaming with friends outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacan, authorities confirmed. Gastelum, who had nearly 600,000 followers on TikTok, was widely recognized for his comedy content and interactive livestreams. His videos had earned him a loyal fan base across Mexico, making news of his death a shock to followers and fellow creators. According to officials, Gastelum was broadcasting live outside the restaurant when two individuals riding a motorcycle approached the group. Both suspects were reportedly wearing helmets, making it difficult to identify them. Footage from the livestream, which later circulated on social media, appeared to capture the terrifying moment when the motorcycle driver allegedly opened fire directly at Gastelum. The stream ended abruptly following the shooting, leaving viewers stunned. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Gastelum succumbed to his injuries. Local authorities confirmed his death and launched an extensive security operation to locate those responsible. Investigators have not yet announced any arrests, and the motive behind the attack remains under investigation. The fatal shooting occurred in Culiacan, the capital of the northern Mexican state of Sinaloa, a city that has experienced years of violence linked to organized crime. Authorities have repeatedly increased security efforts in the region as rival criminal groups continue to battle for influence and territorial control, contributing to ongoing instability. Gastelum’s death has renewed concerns over the safety of public figures and content creators in Mexico, particularly those who frequently livestream their daily activities and disclose their locations in real time. Social media users expressed grief over the incident, with many paying tribute to the influencer and calling for justice. The tragedy also draws comparisons to the killing of Mexican beauty influencer Valeria Márquez, who was shot during a TikTok livestream in May 2025 while working at a beauty salon in Zapopan, Jalisco. Márquez was 23 years old at the time of her death, and prosecutors handled the investigation under Mexico’s femicide protocols. In a later development, Mexican authorities announced the arrest of Ramon Angel Alvarez Ayala, also known as “El R-1,” in the state of Jalisco. Officials identified him as the alleged leader of a criminal group associated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). Authorities have accused Alvarez Ayala of ordering and financing the killing of Valeria Márquez. He has also been linked to the November 2025 murder of Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo, according to investigators. As the investigation into Cesar Gastelum’s killing continues, authorities are working to determine whether the attack was connected to organized crime or stemmed from another motive. His death has once again highlighted the dangers posed by violence in parts of Mexico and the growing risks faced by online personalities whose lives are increasingly shared with the public in real time.

Gracie Abrams has never hidden her admiration for Taylor Swift, but the singer-songwriter is now revealing that Swift’s influence goes far beyond music. In a recent cover story interview with Rolling Stone, Abrams shared how watching the global pop icon navigate fame and success taught her one of the most valuable lessons of her career: learning to let go of her ego and focus on the work that truly matters. (Rolling Stone) Abrams, who has become one of pop music’s fastest-rising stars, said observing Swift’s professionalism changed the way she approaches her own career. Rather than chasing validation or allowing success to shape her identity, Abrams explained that Swift inspired her to stay grounded, remain curious, and always prioritize creativity over personal pride. According to Abrams, one of the biggest takeaways from spending time around Swift was seeing how someone with extraordinary global success continues to work with humility. She admitted that the experience helped her rethink how ego can sometimes interfere with artistic growth. Instead of trying to prove herself, Abrams now focuses on making honest music that reflects her experiences and emotions. The two artists have developed a close professional relationship over the past few years. Abrams previously joined Swift as an opening act on select dates of The Eras Tour, giving her the opportunity to perform in front of massive stadium crowds around the world. The experience introduced Abrams to millions of new listeners while allowing her to witness firsthand the dedication and discipline that have defined Swift’s career. (Rolling Stone) Abrams also praised Swift for creating an environment where artists feel supported rather than intimidated. She described the Grammy-winning superstar as generous with her advice and encouragement, adding that Swift’s confidence comes from preparation and hard work instead of ego. That mindset, Abrams said, motivated her to approach challenges with greater patience and self-belief. Since releasing her breakthrough projects, Abrams has earned widespread praise for her emotional songwriting and intimate storytelling. Her honest lyrics and understated style have helped her build a loyal fan base, while collaborations with respected artists have further established her place in contemporary pop music. Even as her popularity continues to grow, Abrams says she wants to remain authentic and committed to personal growth. Taylor Swift’s influence, she believes, extends beyond chart-topping songs and sold-out tours. For Abrams, the biggest lesson has been understanding that long-term success is built on consistency, kindness, and a willingness to keep learning. As Abrams continues to evolve as both an artist and songwriter, she credits Swift for helping her develop a healthier perspective on fame. By letting go of ego and embracing humility, the young singer says she has found greater confidence in her own voice. It is a lesson she hopes to carry with her throughout every stage of her career.

Iran rejects US ceasefire proposal sent through Ir…

TEHRAN/WASHINGTON: Iran has reportedly rejected a US-backed ceasefire proposal delivered through Iraq, insisting that any agreement must address the underlying causes of the conflict rather than offer only a temporary halt in fighting, according to a report published by The New York Times. The report said the proposal was conveyed during Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi’s visit to Tehran after meetings with US officials in Washington. Acting as an intermediary, the Iraqi leader is said to have relayed Washington’s message in an effort to ease rising military tensions between Iran and the United States. According to the report, Iranian officials made it clear that a short-term ceasefire would not be acceptable unless it included concrete solutions to the broader disputes driving the conflict, particularly issues surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime routes. While the full details of the reported US proposal were not disclosed, Iranian officials were quoted as saying that a temporary pause in hostilities would do little to resolve the crisis without addressing Tehran’s core strategic concerns. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the Iraqi prime minister had briefed Tehran on his discussions in Washington and shared his observations from the visit. However, Araghchi emphasized that communication channels between Iran and the United States already exist through several regional mediators. “The issue is not the delivery of messages,” Araghchi said, according to Iranian media. “The real problem is Washington’s approach.” He accused the United States of pursuing what he described as an “unreasonable, greedy and controlling” policy that has fueled the current crisis. The report added that Tehran remains committed to its long-standing strategic demands and is unwilling to accept any agreement that it believes undermines Iran’s national interests or regional position. As of the time of publication, the US government had not issued an official response to the New York Times report or to the statements attributed to Iranian officials. The details of the alleged proposal have also not been independently verified. Diplomatic efforts involving Iraq, Qatar, Pakistan, and other regional countries are continuing behind the scenes in an attempt to reduce tensions and prevent a wider regional conflict. However, political analysts say deep disagreements between Tehran and Washington continue to limit the prospects for a breakthrough. The reported rejection underscores the significant obstacles facing mediation efforts, particularly as disputes over regional security, sanctions, and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved. With military tensions still high and both sides maintaining firm public positions, observers believe a comprehensive diplomatic solution remains difficult despite ongoing regional mediation initiatives.
