“I went through the police academy in one of these back in 1997. No Crown Vic could out run or out maneuver this car when we played cops and robbers on the obstacle course. It was hands down a superior car in terms of handling and horsepower. Every time I see one I’m taken back to the driving portion of the academy. Fond memories.”

“Wow! If your drove this in 1966 you were a very successful owner-operator with great taste! That’s an extra long WB too meant for specialized loads. I watched the videos to see any sign of power steering so only Armstrong steering? My family was in the trucking business (in many aspects) and worked at a Kenworth store in NJ in the clean up bay. Much like old vs modern pickup trucks, they had evolved from bare bones working vehicles to modern, comfortable places to be. GLWTA #keepontruckin”

So while we were setting up Rally 1
Mike Z who ran the Saleen shop floor set up a red door complete with gurney bubble on a small dolly door stand. For display and option for people coming to have your door converted.
Of course vin 1314 / signature car owner / Me wanted it that day to swap on my red car for the event!
The door was display only because it was a blemish / defect door and not complete , hence the parts missing on this door!
I think Bony had the first bubble after Gurney…”

“This was my Dad’s car. I learned to drive a stick in this car and took my drivers test for my license. He and I worked on it together and we would race through the mountains. When he was over seas, my mom and I had to drive it weekly to keep it running. both of my parents are in heaven. My mom is looking down at me, saying what in the hell are you thinking?
