“I’ve seen these cars in person when they were new at Straman’s over next to the Orange County Airport. The workmanship is superb. No one believes me when I say that there was a convertible CRX.
More importantly than that, no one believes there was EVER a teddy bear wheel made for any car – and I’ve told stories about them on a Volkswagen Cabriolet I once had. I have only ever seen ONE at a tire dealer. Never a complete set.

“Thks auction has brought back some memories for me. Back in the mid/late fifties my parents had a 1952 Buick Roadmaster woody wagon, maroon with maroon leather interior. It was may fathers favorite car out of many Buicks he had owned. On many warm Sunday afternoons my parents would load me and my brother in the Buick along with a pick nick basket, and sometimes a cocker spaniel, and we’d go for drive. “I was a teenager HS student working at the corner service station. We had a local Dr that had one of these, his was the beautiful dark blue with matching padded top. He would pull in for gas, 27 gallon tank. After putting the car in “Park” he would tilt the wheel which would almost go horizontal on these and throw a small towel that covered the wheel from rim edge to edge. Gas up. Then………the fun would begin! Around to the car wash. Customers would be directed into the wash at the correct…”

I remember them being in the $25 – $35K range? And thinking, I’ll be able to afford one of those. “Thanks to all bidders. I fell in love with the 904 when I first saw one in the 1980’s. I think it the most beautiful care design ever. Thats why I had to have the Beck 904. I started discussing the car with Chuck Beck in early 2020, and pulled the trigger in October of 2020. It was a 3 year build process, and I visited the factory many times during the build. My wife was involved too, and picked out the interior colors. I think it turned out nicely. Thanks for all the positive comments.”

“The 505 wagon, IMHO, is one of the great longroofs. They endure rugged conditions in Africa without complaint. The 4 cylinder engine is about as indestructible as they get. Cargo capacity is unmatched. Yet the ride is so so comfy. Best seats anywhere. The video shows it off well.”

“When I scroll BaT, I’ve always held out hope I’d come across two cars: my dad’s ‘66 E Type, and this car. I sold this car to the current seller. Bought when I was 14, restored it, drove it through high school and into young married life. Sold it when I was broke with a growing family to support. Broke my heart to sell it, but clearly I sold to the right individual. Car looks absolutely amazing. I’ll start the bidding with the last sale price…”
