“In the 70’s my Dad owned/operated a MB repair garage in CA. I used to work with him off/on to assist. His biggest job was a 300 SL roadster a client brought in to have the engine, transmission and differential rebuilt prior to shipping the car off to do the complete renovation. When my Dad completed all of the mechanical work, he asked if I’d like to take the SL out for its first test drive. I was surprised and happy to. I took it easy, went through the gears and put about 5 miles on it.…”

“My father loved VWs and I grew up surrounded by a barnyard of mostly early 50s cars and vans. We swapped engines without any regard for anything except which ones ran the best. This is an amazing car anyway, but what truly astonishes me is the original engine still in place. Incredible.”

“This is an amazing car, I remember seeing it at Nth Moto many years ago. Every S7 is special, but this one being modified to “11” by Nth Moto (probably the best bespoke high performance shop in the country) makes it even moreso. If anyone is hesitant about this being modified, don’t be. Whether it’s Viper, Ford GT, Lambo, etc anything Nth Moto touches turns out exceptional and their quality of work is better than OEM. Good luck with the auction, seller. Beautiful car.”

I remembered that Tom Matano was there with a De Tomaso I had never seen. In recent years, I’ve been trying to remember what it was. Thanks for solving my dilemma! I remember it as being small.”

“I drove one of these on the Lotus Factory test track, a phenomenal car. This has the touring suspension which makes it a nice daily driver. I did not drive an Emira with the sport suspension but from what I hear it is still very streetable. I have a friend with an Emira so far the only repairs are software updates.”

“Love this example. I also have a Piedmont Green Metallic E400 Wagon (more photos on my IG @ptsrs) and can confirm it is a wonderful family car. It also gets surprisingly a lot of compliments, especially from young dads haha. As the other Piedmont owner said, the color is incredibly dynamic. The M276 V6 is buttery smooth and has a good reputation for reliability.

“My parents bought a blue 1964 Wagon like this and we made two big trips from MN, one to Southern California, including Disneyland, and the other to Alaska. The Alaska trip was memorable for my two brothers and I. We had 11 flat tires, the gravel was almost as big as the mosquitoes, big trucks flew by us as we rolled up the windows and ducked, of course the windshield needed replacement and within a year all of the paint had peeled off the hood. “There are a total of 9 known carbon fiber bodied CSX Cobras out of the 10 planned (the registry incorrectly lists 7) and CSX4000R is incorrectly entered without mention of the carbon body. I am a lucky to own one of those 9 carbon Cobras.
