“I was talking with a gentleman the other day about the GTS and we ended up swapping stories about some of the cars we’ve owned. One that came up was my 2011 911 Carrera GTS. Really nice example — black, PDK, factory AeroKit — but it was full leather everywhere with zero Alcantara.
He made a great point that stuck with me. what really defines the GTS driving experience is the Alcantara. It’s one of those subtle things you don’t fully appreciate until you get back into a properly…”

    “Where was I in ‘’62?
Shopping for my first new car ..In those golden years of American muscle cars my choices were daunting …Chevy 409/409, Ford 406/405, Pontiac 421/405, Dodge/Plymouth 413/420.
I ruled out the Mopars for their very quirky looks. Our family car was a ‘60 Bonneville convertible so I was leaning toward the Pontiac but my local dealer was reluctant to sell me what was considered an all out race car. After much haggling I ordered a 421/405 SD but it was late summer and…”

“What a nice old car, I love survivors – they are 10x harder to find than a restored example, and this one, in THE most desirable closed body style; a Club Sedan with the blind quarter panels, is fantastic ! As the owner of a very similar ‘36 Packard – also in original paint, pinstripe and plating, but a convertible coupe, I can certainly appreciate this one, and I love it with the black wall tires, tho I’d look for some one size larger. Was there ever a radio installed ? Doesn’t appear to…”

“I love brown cars, probs because my mom’s car when I was a kid was a 1970 Tobacco Brown MB 250 base model. No A/C, but it did have a sunroof. I learned how to drive in that car by driving it across the USA when we moved from Cleveland to Colorado Springs in 1977 on a learner’s permit. CB radio keeping contact with my dad in the 1970 Ford Country Squire pulling the Argosy 26′ travel trailer. Memories baby, that’s what cars are.”

“@sy1616 ………The 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc Einspritzmotor Coupe was special and important for its combination of cutting-edge technology, superior luxury, and extreme rarity, which cemented Mercedes-Benz’s return to the top echelon of global luxury automakers after World War II.
    Mechanical innovation:
The “Einspritzmotor” (German for “injection engine”) designation on the car’s rear bumper signified its most important technical feature.
Mechanical fuel injection: The 300 Sc borrowed…”

“A United Airlines pilot that lived across the street from us when I was a teenager had a 12 cylinder E-Type coupe he bought new. Easy to look at and great sounds. But THIS car has all the modern goodies with no Lucas Electrics gremlins and all the modern upgrades plus a spotless and powerful Ed Pink motor. This would be the Jag I would own. Exceptional build and beautiful car. GLWTA !”

    “OK let’s get serious here.
What a lot of us often don’t realize when we look at something like this is the enormous amount of time, engineering, design, and late night haunting representing thousands of hours by dedicated people to develop and refined a complete and functional performance car.
You are not just buying the parts to make cars, you’re buying an entire history of what it took to build the cars.
So…if you are contemplating building your own cars, this is an excellent way to…”

“I own both a Ghibli and a Daytona and although I really like the Daytona the Ghibli is my go to car for long drives or if I anticipate stop and go traffic. Both cars have beautiful lines. The Ghibli is more reliable and more user friendly. The steering wheel can be adjusted up/down and the seat back is adjustable. No such luck on the Daytona. This car has power steering while the Daytona feels like a truck at slow speed.
The Maserati V8 has tons of low end torque while the V12 Ferrari needs…”

More importantly than that, no one believes there was EVER a teddy bear wheel made for any car – and I’ve told stories about them on a Volkswagen Cabriolet I once had. I have only ever seen ONE at a tire dealer. Never a complete set.

“I did the rear disc conversion on this truck many years ago. It was done using front hubs (bolt right on) and RRC /DI rear rotors and calipers. I never liked the way Land Rover cheaped out on the factory rear Salisbury disc setup by using the narrow drive flanges with short splines that strip out easily and short spindles with narrow spaced bearings… That’s why I used to do it this way, retaining the far better wide drive flanges and longer axle spline engagement, with wet splines. At the time it still had it’s original paint and by looking at the pictures I think it still does.. I had both seats redone in the original material that I obtained from Italy.. i remember the car well. ( I designed the battery closing panel as I could not find back then an original battery cover..
