“I absolutely LOVE photo #321: the huge stack of renewal stickers! Most of us peel them off once a stack of five or so piles up, but to leave them all on there for so many years took dedication and a degree of skill.
This is a such a cool package, even without the amazing ownership history. Only things I’d do is get the A/C working, and replace that modern CD player with something vintage or at least vintage looking.”

“WOW! Some won’t understand it, but for those of us that are old enough to have witnessed the greatness of the “full custom” car era, this is a walk down Memory Lane. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in the So Cal custom car culture and this is a great example of the creative customs from that time. “Wynonna is her name – yes, I am one of those car owners. I bought her from my elderly neighbor who needed a smaller car when she moved in with her children, but the dealerships would not offer her half the NADA guide price in trade, so I paid the NADA price. I knew the history of the car and the mechanic who serviced Wynonna since the early 1990s, but who retired in 2025. He is an AACA member and always at the Hershey Eastern Fall Meet as well as some of the Carlisle Car Show events.…”

“I own a 1938 Flying Squirrel. The engine number is one digit away from this bike and the frame number is two digits away. When I contacted the Scott Club Registry to authenticate my bike I was advised that 220 Flying Squirrels were produced (500cc and 600cc versions combined) in 1938. The whereabouts of 101 were known. Of those, twenty had the redesigned detachable head as does this bike. GLWTS”

“Somewhat related, gearhead Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) took part in a documentary “La Carrera Panamericana” in the early 1990s, which is just awesome. Wonderful cinematography of the actual race, with Pink Floyd as the soundtrack.
I stumbled upon the VHS in a bargain bin in the mid-’90s, but it’s all over YouTube now.
