“Combating the maintenance scaries with an impressive log of care.
From VW’s golden era. This being on the lot next to the MKIV .:R32 and V10 TDI Touareg is as good as it’ll get.”

“Hello BaT! I’m the builder and seller of this E30, and I’ll be here throughout the auction to answer any questions and provide additional photos or videos if requested.
This project began as an effort to build an electric E30 that felt like a proper driver’s car rather than simply an EV conversion. Nearly every component was selected with that goal in mind—from the Tesla Plaid drive unit and custom battery system to the suspension, brakes, and chassis upgrades.
    After the build was…”

“By the time this particular Fulvia was built, Fiat had owned Lancia long enough to have begun incorporating some profit-motivated changes. I spent a lot of time at the Lancia display at the Turin Auto Show in 1972, and following that wrote an article for the LANCIANA, the American Lancia Club newsletter. Some things I noted were “…the paint and overall finish is better than ever. Suspension bits are stampings now, rather than the nice hardware that we’re used to.. Plastic clips replace the…”

“Jimmy Don Ventura had owned enough unusual automobiles over the years to believe he understood the public. He’d driven a lime-green AMC Gremlin, a Triumph Spitfire that leaked oil with the determination of an East Texas mosquito, and a Plymouth Barracuda that had once stranded him in front of the Dairy Twin during the lunch rush. Every one of them had attracted comments, questions, and unsolicited mechanical advice from complete strangers.
    Then he bought Fred.
    Officially, it was a 1949…”

“I did the rear disc conversion on this truck many years ago. It was done using front hubs (bolt right on) and RRC /DI rear rotors and calipers. I never liked the way Land Rover cheaped out on the factory rear Salisbury disc setup by using the narrow drive flanges with short splines that strip out easily and short spindles with narrow spaced bearings… That’s why I used to do it this way, retaining the far better wide drive flanges and longer axle spline engagement, with wet splines. At the time it still had it’s original paint and by looking at the pictures I think it still does.. I had both seats redone in the original material that I obtained from Italy.. i remember the car well. ( I designed the battery closing panel as I could not find back then an original battery cover.. “The 991 GT3T reigns supreme. Many folks say the 992 is superior. When you sit in a 992 you stare into the soulless abyss of darkened computer screens.
I don’t care how good a 911 is if it makes me feel like I’m at work staring at a computer screen!”

Funny thing was it was a trade-in at a Studebaker dealers shop in Salt Lake City Utah, the middle of nowhere back then. but dad, although a chemist, had a hankering for mechanical stuff and built large gasoline powered model airplanes when he was a kid.

The new owners will have both a show piece and an amazing coach. In the rv world these coaches in well preserved form are showstoppers.”

“Great to see such an excellent example of the car that reset the standard of what to expect from a small car. Not enough people understand how the Accord raised the bar for attractive design and basic equipment. The rustproofing material is most typical of any car sold in western Pennsylvania, where salt use and rust were commonplace… probably instrumental in keeping this car on the road and on your screen today. “Awesome to see another very early production boss! Curious as to when it initially was sold. I own 2013 Boss 302 #0003 in grabber blue. I purchased it in March 2012 from Al Packer Whit Marsh Ford in MD. They had no idea what the production number was and of course I never mentioned it until after I purchased it, then I received a call a few weeks later asking if I’d sell it back or trade it back for another boss plus cash. I declined. I do have more miles on mine, around 9k. Drove it from NJ to…”

One of my best friends ordered a ‘63 Galaxie 500 XL Oxford Blue convertible with the 406/405 Tri-Power engine …By the time it arrived it had the new upgraded 427/425 Dual Quad engine..I can vividly remember the first time opening the hood and seeing those chrome valve covers marked 427-T ….I believe the “T” was for transistor ignition.
The ‘63 Galaxie has always been my favorite Ford, especially the
    “R” code Fastback version.”

“This car appears to be the very car that AK built for road racing, then retired it for show car duty. I was hired by Hooters at the start of the 92 season to take the car to many of the Hooters restaurants for display. I also make several commercials driving the car at different racetracks, and some were televised on national tv that year. I have such fond memories of the years working for Hooters and with Alan at many of his appearances at the restaurants. I continued on with Hooters in a…”

“Ford used the turbo fours in the mid-80’s to position themselves for higher gas prices. Fantastic, future-focused cars like the Mustang SVO, Merkur XR4Ti, Thunderbird Turbo Coupe…and then gas prices fell and the Mustang GT became the star. The SVO has one of the most unique (and short-lived, and polarizing) front end designs in Mustang history. This is a great example and should be fun to watch!”
