“Rare and eerily beautiful.
I saw one of these driving down our main street years ago when the rear door opened and the coffin slid out and kept rolling down the street. People tried to slow it down but no luck. Finally a clerk from the local drug store ran out, caught up to the speeding casket and sprayed Robitussin all over it.
Boy did that ever stop the coffin.”

“I must commend the team at Revology on an absolute triumph of packaging. It is one thing to shoehorn a Gen 3 Coyote into an early-model engine bay, but the way this has been engineered is incredibly clean. You actually left plenty of room to work on the car, and the plumbing is pure art. It takes a truly discerning eye to differentiate this from a factory-spec 1968 Fastback until you pop the hood.

Midway through the loop, which was about thirty miles on various roads, we merged onto a local interstate at about 90 mph. I’m Bob Gunthorp. I have a 1959 190b Binz station wagon Binz body number 1540. It is registered as a 1963. I purchased it in 1984. They are a fun car to drive and they attract attention everywhere that you take them. In 2012 I showed the wagon at the Mercedes-Benz Club National StarFest event in Phoenix AZ. The wagon is a “driver” car and not 100 point restoration. To both my surprise and amazement the wagon received the judge’s choice award.

“I had one of these ‘beasts’ back in the 1970s, nowhere as nice as this Mercedes. I terrorized northern Virginia & the D.C. area for several years…..it sounded like a washing-machine full of marbles & smoked like I was spraying for locusts! But that Benz ran for ever, even on kerosene!
I wound up trading it for a Nikon motor-drive camera. My Mercedes wound up as ‘yard-art’ in Annapolis, Maryland…..but that diesel engine ran for years operating hoist equipment on a ‘waterman’s’…”

“Stunning car! The 5 speed transaxle fitted to Boras was also used in other cars- the deTomaso Mangusta and Pantera, Ford GT40s, BMW M1s.. perhaps others I’m not aware of. A robust unit of considerable versatility, it is still in production in the USA by RBT Inc. The ZF 5DS-25 (its actual name) has been through several revisions, including adding a sixth speed, I think. Its only vice is that it’s hard to obtain and when you can, it costs STACKS of money.”

“In my opinion, the original, first series “sports saloon” Jaguars are the purest and best. These are the ones you will see at Goodwood! I love the center instrument cluster, like the XK cars. I also think the smaller windows and extra wood interior appointments work extremely well with these cars. OK, the far more commonly surviving MK 2 cars are just fine in their own right, but just like in the consideration of the E type evolving variations, I remain firmly in the first original series…”
