“I own both a Ghibli and a Daytona and although I really like the Daytona the Ghibli is my go to car for long drives or if I anticipate stop and go traffic. Both cars have beautiful lines. The Ghibli is more reliable and more user friendly. The steering wheel can be adjusted up/down and the seat back is adjustable. No such luck on the Daytona. This car has power steering while the Daytona feels like a truck at slow speed.

If the buyer wants to know any of the history, I can provide info for the period that I owned it. @IanC – When I sold it, I did include the Jaguar Heritage Certificate with it. Since I got it so long ago, it looks much different than the ones you get today. Hopefully, it’s still with the car. The colors are original – Opalescent Silver Blue with dark blue interior and top. “What a cherry looking little car! 1963 remains my favorite year for the Type 1 1200 Sedan and seeing one like this, in stock spec after years of well-loved ownership just makes me smile! Everyone has a VW Story and this VW has a great story all on it’s own.
I didn’t see anything mentioned about a “Birth Certificate” and, while it may be impossible to receive one before the end of the auction, this car deserves one. Per the technical data on TheSamba.com Chassis No. 5241720 would have rolled…”

My very first car was precisely this, but in tan and minus the Cragars. Served me well throughout college and for a cross-country drive to Southern California after college. Raced a Mazda RX-7 across approximately 100 miles of the desert Southwest, with my 10-speed bike strapped to the roof rack. I pulled away from him on the flat stretches and he caught and passed me in the mountain curves. Eventually my 440 needed gas and he didn’t. Good times.
