“I owned two 1976 Trans Ams back in the ’80s and ’90s: a 400 4spd and a 455 4spd. They are really special cars. I often notice TA owners leave the shaker hood scoops sealed, and I wonder why. It takes a few minutes to remove the plate and the intake noise completely changes the driving experience and adds some power. My friends would ask me to get on it just so they could hear the roar from the shaker scoop which sounded like it would suck in animals and small children if they were too close.…”

This was his final sale before he passed, he was pretty much in his last days during the auction. I was so pleased the auction went so well for him at the time. I love classic time pieces and its amazing to see the value in something like a “Paul Newman Rolex Daytona” and the price someone is willing to pay to own one. “The Shelby Shadows are the one Whittier issue I never owned. But I did have a Shadow ES 4dr with the VNT Turbo lV which is even more rare. The variable nozzle turbo was magic, with low RPM response and torque to match the top end. It was also brave of Garrett to put a dynamic turbo housing into a production car with the vicious heat cycle. Mine grenaded when fortunately I was able to find a complete new one off the shelf.

“There have been a lot of good comments on cooling and radiators.
My Griffith was upgraded with all of the mentioned modifications but nothing worked until I installed a chin spoiler under the radiator. All cars today have chin spoilers, for a reason.
Regarding cabin temperatures, my headers are ceramic coated and there is proper insulation under the carpet, keeping me cool as a cucumber, even on the hottest days.
This is all for my Griffith but a 2500M is basically the same only…”

“Every time I get off of mine, I think to myself what a great machine it is! These also look so much better than the brand new RT, at least to my eye. For prospective buyers, it’s worth knowing that BMW pays for driveshaft service every 12,000 miles, with replacement at their cost somewhere in the 36,000 mile range. It might take some time for this low mileage example to get there, but knowing they service it free is added peace of mind. I’m so impressed by my 2015.”
