“I’ve been a 912 owner and enthusiast since 1968, and this is by far the finest 912 driver I’ve ever seen. I know the guy who designed and built it, and I’ve seen the car numerous times. It truly is unique. A lot of time, thought, money, and effort went into the car. Everywhere you look, there’s a special touch.
Start with the basics. Look at the panel fit. The engine lid lines up exceptionally well with the fenders, light units, and bumper uprights. The lower quarter panels fit…”

“I’m going to jump in first on this one and declare it to be an amazing build.
The original Avanti is hard to improve on. Like the E-Type, I consider the original car one of the stand out designs of the 20th century.
Over the past 60 years however, improvements in suspension, brakes, and powertrain have made thoughtful enhancements to the original design very desirable.
This Avanti covers all the bases with exceptionally fine taste while not offending the original design. Great…”

“………..calypso red 740i. That sparked a two year search for the “right for me” e38. I was very lucky to find a 2001 740i sport with only 27k miles, which is still sitting in my garage with approx. 30k miles. It still brings me back to the memory of the calypso red e38 in the showroom and the love affair continues.”

“If you told me I would pull-up BaT today and there would be a 6-wheeled EcoSport for sale, I would have sent you to rehab. I’m speechless.”

“A very special car here. This is one of the original World’s Fair batch of 60 Mustang GTs Ford built for the 1965 New York World’s Fair, the cars that introduced the GT package to the press and the first ones that rolled off the line. On April 15, 1965, all 60 were lined up together. Henry Ford II, Lee Iacocca, and Don Frey rolled past the row. The cars then went to journalists for a 10-day press evaluation. After that they were returned to Ford and sold as demos. About 20 of the original…”

“Starting in 2023 these cars are turbocharged only it runs the 3gen erad rear diff that is constantly engaged compared to the clutch style of the previous model which could disconnect when not needed. The fun part is that if you are driving electric only you are rwd with instant torque.
I trekked down from Seattle to Cali for. ‘24 with 4k miles on it. It’s my daily commuter and plugging it in at home I have only topped off the gas tank once in 2 months.

“You may be cool, but you’ll never be as cool as Steve McQueen. He was, after all, the King of Cool.
That being said, you’d be a lot cooler riding this than you are right now!”

“The first thing I looked at was the first driving video, and that made my morning, seeing the focus with the manual steering. No lackadaisical grip on that wheel.
Just the right street car for getting the blood pumping, without needing to get crazy to do it. A simple and easily maintainable build, with no exotic or exceptionally expensive components, and easy access to pretty much everything. It seems like a car that can happily sit on a battery tender, with some fuel stabilizer, and be…”

“I truly appreciate all of the thoughtful comments along the way. The collective expertise of the community is both helpful and part of the fun! I realize that from a collector’s point of view, this may not be ideal. However, I buy them to drive, and it would feel bad buying a perfect spec collector’s car and driving it as hard as I plan to do. The alternative would have been to find a donor car, and either build it myself or take it to a resto mod shop. This one is already done and ready…”

Just being inside it is a special occasion. It became my daily driver for a while and I always caught myself finding excuses to go places so I could drive it.
On a funny note, every time I’m on a 4-way stop people wait for me to go first. I think they just want to stare at the Arnage. People love it.

“Wonderful handling wagons. If well maintained the drivetrain will last well past 200k miles. Most common issues are door panel fabric detachment, interior plastic scratching, exterior door window rubber degradation, and infotainment electronic glitches. Anyone who says they should have offered this with the six has never driven one. For its intended market the 2.4 is more than adequate to move the wagon at a comfortably fast pace and the five speed auto is well matched to the engine. For those…”

“Son of the late owner here. My dad found and imported this car (and a few others, including the recent Woodie Fiat Topolino on BaT). He had a collection of several dozen vintage European cars, including many Ferraris, Alfa’s, Lancia, Fiats, Porsches, etc. He was a perfectionist when it came to cars and became more interested in hot rods like this one as time went on because they were more fun to drive on the gorgeous NY back roads. The car would have received /anything/ recommended by Frank…”

So many shout outs……fun at car shows…..he drove it to our wedding….we rode home in it after. It’s been a part of most of our life celebrations in some way. He passed away this year and it feels time to let someone else make a memory with it. Whomever gets it, I hope you enjoy it as much as we have ❤️”
