    “@pa_hillbilly @Goog66 Thanks!! Well fought!
Quick story…my buddy was on @BAT yesterday, and he happened to see a 1972 Elkhart Green Corvette that looked a lot like the one my father used to own. He clicked on the link, and crazily, this car was located in Mentor, Ohio, not far from where we live. I know my father sold this car back in 2003 to someone local (he owned it since 1975), but I had no idea that it was still in the area. I basically lost track of it. Sure enough, the VIN checked…”

“Looking through the photos at the hand built beauty of this Cheetah is a reminder of a time when a bunch of guys with a dream could put something like this together.
Some chrome moly, fiberglass and a bunch of odd parts and down the road you go. Like when my dad and I built a go cart from a Sears catalogue and a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower motor.
    Miss those days.”

“In the summer of 1971, my parents took my brother, sister and me across country in a 67 Camaro 327 Sport Coupe towing a U-Haul covered trailer from Los Angeles to New Jersey. We were 13, 11 and 6 years old and it was tight back there, but an adventure. So yeah, people put a hitch on anything with a V8 back in the day. Beautiful car. I can’t help but wonder if someone will go stock, or create a Bullitt clone.”

“A Christmas wish, a dream of speed and grace,
No simple toy beneath the tinsel’s shine,
But a Chiron Bugatti to leave its trace,
A masterpiece of power, wholly divine.
The price tag high, a fortune vast to pay,
For roaring engines and the scent of leather new,
    Upon this joyful, gift-receiving day,
A gleaming marvel, in a stunning hue.
Beneath the tree, no socks nor simple game,
But keys in hand to unlock might untold,
To feel the rush, the engine’s rising flame,
    A Christmas…”

“Our family thanks all of you for checking out our car and for the fun and informative dialogue this week. It will be a bittersweet moment to say goodbye to this piece of history. Our hope is for this ol’ girl to have her story told and her former glory restored. We congratulate the future auction winner of the 56’ Imperial Convertible project. We can’t wait to see her roll down the street, top down, and HEMI purring once again! Best of luck to all the bidders.”

“So an observation of a very obscure Honda factoid. This car has the dealer installed, recall program Takata black plastic guides still in place on the front seat belt latches. The Honda and Acura recall notice back then stated there were complaints about the front seat belts not latching properly. This was Takata’s solution. There was a rumor published at the time saying Honda’s president attributed the problem to us Americans spilling our soft drinks into the latches. Funny, he was…”

“As a Viper enthusiast, I’ve always found myself drawn to the unique, well-optioned examples, particularly the cars that came through the GTC 1 of 1 program.
I tend to break the Gen V ACRs into three general categories. First are the more race-focused 3-speaker ACRs, with 456 produced. Second are the factory Special Editions — GTS-R, VooDoo II, Snakeskin, 1:28 and Dealer Edition — which account for 214 cars in total. Finally, there are the 290 GTC ACRs, a little over 100 of which…”

“Formula for years, worked in secrecy with Mercury and designed the 500 Super Sport Crossover expressly for the new 600-hp Mercury Verado V12.
It was the first boat fitted with these innovative V-12 motors that had a fixed powerhead and a rotating lower unit.
I saw the original factory black hulled SSC at Soverel Harbor in Palm Beach Gardens when it first hit the water,
Spent some time talking with the crew, admiring the boat and the serious Mercury motors the likes of which I’d never seen…”

No matter where I drive, I get thumbs up and comments about what an amazing color this is and how well it compliments the smooth curvy lines of an E9. “In 1964 this car appeared in my neighborhood in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I was an impressionable fifteen-year-old and Dr. Lane was daily driving this 904 all over town. One day I chased him on my bicycle to inquire about the car. He generously let me sit in the car and told me about his racing plans. He traded in a Ferrari 250 (SWB) to obtain this Porsche. Dr. Lane was a renaissance man- brain surgeon, commadore at Lauderdale Yacht Club, pilot and owner of twin engine airplane, SCCA racer,…”

Used to see him driving in Newport/Laguna all the time. I don’t work there anymore, so I don’t have access to the service records, but my memory was that the original owner did the scheduled maintenance on time, and the remainder of the service visits you see on the carfax are for tires. I seem to remember that he didn’t have the best luck with…”
