“I owned an ‘85 nearly identical to this. I drove it the way Carroll Shelby intended. I quickly installed the Mopar Performance logic module and after getting the timing dialed in and an AutoMeter boost gauge installed, I was even more ready to “Go Like Hell.” So, one Friday evening in the spring, I was laying down rubber in first and second gear at each stop.
It must have took a while for the officer to catch up from following the squealing Euro T/A’s, as I don’t believe he ever saw…”

“Automatics are great – First, generally driven less spiritedly over their lifetime. Second, the automatic is actually very good. My auto on back roads, 2nd gear could go from about 25 mph to 70 mph. Often with a group of other 02s, I would be pushing the car in front of me that was modified. Third, the auto works while you find that 5 speed that is wider than a 4 speed and what else is wider? The tunnel in an automatic. No hammer needed for installation.

“Thank you for your interest in my listing. I wanted to share the back story on this truck with everyone if I may. Sometime in 2018 when my wife Dana and I were living in Atlanta, we were out one Sunday morning when a young couple with a small child rolled up next to us at a stop light in a 50’s era pickup. When she said something that made me ask… “Who are you and what have you done with my wife?” What she said was that she had always wanted an old truck like that. So after I heard…”

“I’m one of the few other people who owns one of these in the USA. It’s a blast. I love it and so does everyone anywhere I take it. So unique, so cool, so much fun.
I think a good way to help understand this car is that it has the same power to weight ratio as a GT4. GT4 is 380HP and 3000lbs, this is 190HP and 1500lbs. So it accelerates just as quick but is also more nimble in the turns because it’s half the weight.
I suspect these will appreciate in value as well, it’s essentially the…”

“My dad had one of these back in the day. The drivetrain was something else. We owned it to about 250k miles before selling it on the original clutch, transmission, turbo, head gasket, diffs, etc. It’d been chip tuned the whole time to almost 300hp for most of that.
Not that it was cheap or easy to keep the rest of the car in shape around that drivetrain….but still, this was Audi at its best.”

This one won’t be restored nor turned for profit, but it will be driven in the desert southwest and turn over 100,000 miles within a year or so. I drive ’em, I don’t show them or brag about them. Enjoy your cars folks! We ain’t gettin’ any younger, time goes so quickly.
    Enjoy your day. God Bless.”

“Awesome car. I love pic 149 because it tells a story of what likely happened to most radio delete Camaros in the early 80s when these cars were cheap enough to be purchased by teenagers who would not be caught dead in a car with no tunes. I can see the kid with his dad’s hacksaw, tin snips and pliers lying on his back in that trunk going to town. A couple hours later, with his brand new Jensen Tri-Axials installed, he’s cruising around town with tunes blaring. Radio delete option be damned!!”

I got to see this car in person, and all I can say is WOWW!! This car is spectacular. Down to details like proper hose clamps, it’s just done so nicely and correctly. Not that you’ll need it, but GLWTA!”

Since I couldn’t acquire the real one from that galaxy far, far away, (the import/transport fees would have been “astronomical”) I decided to build one to commemorate the upcoming 50th earthly anniversary of this iconic movie vehicle. Bought when I was 14, restored it, drove it through high school and into young married life. Sold it when I was broke with a growing family to support. Broke my heart to sell it, but clearly I sold to the right individual. Car looks absolutely amazing. I’ll start the bidding with the last sale price…”
