One of my best friends ordered a ‘63 Galaxie 500 XL Oxford Blue convertible with the 406/405 Tri-Power engine …By the time it arrived it had the new upgraded 427/425 Dual Quad engine..I can vividly remember the first time opening the hood and seeing those chrome valve covers marked 427-T ….I believe the “T” was for transistor ignition.
The ‘63 Galaxie has always been my favorite Ford, especially the
“R” code Fastback version.”

“For general information only: The “green things” on most Citroëns of this era all relate to the hydraulic system. Green indicates LHM (mineral oil) fluid vs older red (brake fluid) systems. The SM has 6 green things visible under the hood. “My dad had one of these back in the day. The drivetrain was something else. We owned it to about 250k miles before selling it on the original clutch, transmission, turbo, head gasket, diffs, etc. It’d been chip tuned the whole time to almost 300hp for most of that.
Not that it was cheap or easy to keep the rest of the car in shape around that drivetrain….but still, this was Audi at its best.”

As a partner at Andretti Global, I had access to the greatest guys who know so much about this car. The majority of the parts on this car are original parts from michaels actual races in 1991. I worked with both Michael and Mario to make sure everything was as accurate as possible. It’s truly a big part of IndCar history.”

“On Thanksgiving eve of 1969 my father drove home a brand new 1970 SX. Rally red, white vinyl top, white bucket seats, sport steering wheel and side mirrors, etc. I was 17 at the time and still have it! Without my father’s knowledge, I immediately swapped the 2 barrel carb for the quadrant which really changed the performance. The drive train is bullet proof. Almost 57 years later and the engine still cranks right up and pulls like a horse! Our domestic cars from 65-71 were fabulous!”

“What a neat rig with an incredible pedigree! And you won’t need to bring a trailer because it’s too precious. Just drive it home and enjoy it.
