These really are spectacular cars in every respect. Once you drive one, you never forget it. @seller needs no introduction here so bid with confidence. These have been woefully undervalued compared with similar era cars, but I believe all that is about to change as more people wake up to US landed examples like this, and the amazing amount of fun one can…”

“A perfect vehicle for Veterans Day! Thank you to all veterans!
Before his passing, I was fortunate to attend an open house at Jacques Littlefield’s estate where there were hundreds of tanks from all eras. He and his crew did a masterful job of restoring and maintaining these beauties.
I was wondering if this was ever part of his collection?”

Baja California and back to Sacramento in a slant six Dart? That is an absolute adventure and proof positive that these cars were built for exactly that kind of journey. No drama, no breakdowns, just mile after mile of honest reliable transportation through some pretty unforgiving terrain. That slant six was one of the toughest engines ever bolted into an American car and your story is a perfect reminder of that.
Thank you for sharing that memory and for the kind words. That is…”

“In 1967, my dad informed me that he had purchased, with my savings, 1960 Falcon with 60K miles for $325.00.
While it would not have been my choice, I was excited to enter the world of independence from walking, bicycling and public transportation.
The 144 ci engine didn’t last long with my heavy foot and the constant diet of re-refined oil I fed it from our local Site gas station.
I found a 260 at the junk yard and that was a great improvement.
The original radiator did not like the 260, so…”

Then the new girl friend asks me over to meet her family and what does the Dad have, an Opel Manta in orange. He takes me out to inspect it and at some point hands me the key and says, have fun. Well, I did and from that point forward my world changed. Tried to talk my dad into letting me buy an MGB, that didn’t work until I bought my own in college and started auto X’ing with it. “I had one 50 years ago. Definitely fun and to say driving is a “vintage experience” doesn’t really cut it. It’s pretty much pre-war in feel, but with more power. You are exposed to the elements to about the same degree as a motorcycle with a windshield, and the chassis is the best British custom: suspension that allows you to drive over a dime and tell if it’s heads or tails, and tires with similar width to a current electric mountain bike.”

Still have the 289 (notchback, Ivy Green Metallic). It was my Mom’s car from new and has been lovingly taken care of. One day it will pass to my nephew.”
